Russia Company against the Bill, for improving the Russia Trade.

Upon reading the Petition of the Company of English Merchants for Discovery of new Trades, commonly called the Russia Company; praying, "That they may be heard before the passing of the Bill, intituled, An Act for enlarging and improving the Trade to Russia:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Petitioners, or any other Persons, shall be heard, by themselves or Counsel, on Tuesday the Four and Twentieth Day of this Instant May, at Eleven of the Clock, what they have to offer in relation to the said Bill, before the reading thereof a Second Time.

The Lord Audley reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act to naturalize William Lloyd and others," as fit to pass, without any Amendment.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to naturalize William Lloyd and others."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

ORDERED, That the Commons have Notice, the Lords have agreed to the said Bill, without any Amendment.

Hull Workhouses, &c. Bill.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for erecting Work-houses and Houses of Correction in the Town of Kingston upon Hull, for the Employment and Maintenance of the Poor there."

Relief of Creditors in Cases of Bankruptev, Bill to repeal the Act for.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to repeal the Act made the last Session of Parliament, intituled, An Act for Relief of Creditors, by making Compositions with their Debtors, in case Two Thirds in Number and Value do agree."

ORDERED, That the said Bill be read a Second Time on Wednesday; next and all the Judges to attend.

Thwaites versus Dey.

Upon reading the Petition of Dorothy Thwaytes, Wife of James Thwaytes, Captain of the Ship King William, now in East India, and of the said James Thawytes her Husband, and of Josia, Ema, and Elizabeth, Instants, their Children; praying, "That they may be heard, against the Proceedings of John Dye, at the same Time that the said Dye's Petition is heard:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Petitioners shall be heard, as desired, on Monday the Three and Twentieth Day of this Instant May, at Eleven of the Clock.

Messages from H. C. with Bills; and to return the Bill to prevent the counterfeiting, &c. of the Coin.

A Message from the House of Commons, by Mr. Lowndes and others:

Who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act for the better and more orderly Payment of the Lottery Tickets now payable out of certain additional Duties of Excise; and of other Annuities, lately payable out of the Tonnage Duties;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Also a Message from the House of Commons, by Mr. Clerke and others:

To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the better preventing the counterfeiting, clipping, and other diminishing, the Coin of this Kingdom;" and to acquaint this House, that they have agreed to their Lordships Amendments made therein.

Also a Message from the House of Commons, by Mr. Gerey and others:

Who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act for the better Discovery and suppressing of House-breakers;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Return of Juries, at the Assizes, &c. Bill for.

ORDERED, That the said Bill be read a Second Time on Wednesday the Five and Twentieth Day of this Instant May, at Twelve of the Clock; and all the Judges to attend.

Bill to punish Knight, for false Indorsements on Exchequer Bills, rejected.

After hearing Counsel this Day, upon the Petition of John Knight Esquire, against the Bill, intituled, "An Act for punishing John Knight Esquire, for procuring counterfeit Indorsements to be made upon several Bills made forth at the Receipt of Exchequer, commonly called Exchequer Bills;" and after Consideration and Debate thereupon:

This Question was put, "Whether the said Bill shall be read a Second Time?"

It was Resolved in the Negative.

Hereupon the following Order was made; (videlicet,)

"It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Bill, intituled, "An Act for punishing John Knight Esquire, for procuring counterseit Indorsements to be made upon several Bills made forth at the Receipt of Exchequer, commonly called Exchequer Bills, shall be, and is hereby, rejected."

Adjourn.
