Message from H. C. with a Bill; and to return the E. of Gainesborough's and the Arhitration Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by the Lord Digby and others:

To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act for vesting Lands in Trustees, to be sold, for Payment of the Debts of Wriothesley Baptist late Earl of Ganesborough, deceased;" to which they have agreed, without any Amendment.

Also a Message by Mr. Clarke and others:

To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act for determining Differences by Arbitration;" to which they have agreed, with One Amendment; whereunto they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Which Amendment, being read Thrice, was agreed to; and ORDERED, That the Commons have Notice thereof.

Also a Message by Colonel Granville and others:

Who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable Trustees to make Leases, and grant Copies, and receive the Rents and Profits, of the Estates late of Sir Edward Wyndham Baronet deceased, and Hopton Wyndham Esquire deceased, during the Minority of Sir William Wyndham Baronet, for the Intents and Purposes therein mentioned;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act to repeal an Act made in the Nine and Thirtieth Year of the Reign of Queen Elizabeth, intituled, An Act to restrain the excessive making of Malt; and to discharge and vacate Orders made by Justices of Peace by virtue thereof, for restraining Maltsters from making Malt;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

ORDERED, That the Consideration of the said Bill be committed to the same Committee to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for erecting Hospitals and Workhouses within the Town of Colchester, in the County of Essex for the better employing and maintaining the Poor thereof," is referred.

Pitt's Bill.

Sir E. Turner's Bill.

The Lord Bishop of Exon reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for supplying a Defect in a Conveyance lately made by Sir Edward Turnor and Charles Turnor Esquire his Son, for the more effectual securing the Sum of Twelve Thousand Pounds, and Interest, upon their Estate," as fit to pass, with One Amendment.

Which was read Twice, and agreed to.

Alveston Manor, &c. Bill for Sale of.

The Earl of Bridgewater reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for vesting the Manor of Alveston and other Lands therein mentioned, in the County of Gloucester, in Trustees, to be sold, for Payment of Debts, and other Purposes therein mentioned," as fit to pass, with some Amendments.

Which were read Twice, and agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the said Amendments.

Blasphemy, &c. to suppress, Bill.

The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the more effectual suppressing of Blasphemy and Profaneness."

After some Time spent therein, the House was resumed.

And the Lord Bishop of London reported, "That the Committee had gone through the said Bill; and think it fit to pass, with some Amendments."

Which were read Twice, and agreed to.

ORDERED, That the said Bill be read the Third Time on Thursday next; and all the Lords summoned to attend.

Ettrick's Bill.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear Counsel, for and against the Bill, intituled, "An Act for vesting in Trustees certain Lands, Parcel of the Estate of Jane late Wife of Anthony Ettrick Gentleman, to be sold, for Payment of Debts, and for making Provision for Elizabeth their Daughter, an Infant, and Heir to her said Mother," on Wednesday the Fourth Day of this Instant May, at Eleven of the Clock.
