Lords take the Oaths.

This Day George Earl of North'ton and Lewis Lord Rockingham took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, pursuant to the Statutes.

Watkins & al. Kindred of Pennoyer, versus Shatterden.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of William Watkins, John Watkins, John Pugh, Samuel Watkins, and others, poor Kindred of William Pennoyer Esquire, deceased, from an Order and Dismission made in the High Court of Chancery, the Fourth Day of November, One Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-one, before the late Lords Commissioners for the Custody of the Great Seal of England, upon the Hearing of the Cause there depending, between the Petitioners and Richard Loton Esquire, surviving Executor of the said William Pennoyer, Complainants, and Thomas Shatterden Esquire, Thomas Trench, and William Sedgwicke, Executors of Judith Davison deceased, Relict and Executrix of Michael Davison deceased, who was the other Executor of the said William Pennoyer, Defendants; and praying, "that the said Thomas Shatterden, Thomas Trench, and William Sedgwicke, may answer to the said Appeal:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Thomas Shattorden, Thomas Trench, and William Sedgwicke, may have a Copy of the said Appeal; and shall and they are hereby required to put in their Answer or respective Answers thereunto, in Writing, on Thursday the Nineteenth Day of this Instant December, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Hall versus Potter.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of John Hall and John Keen Esquires, Executors of Thomas Thynne Esquire, deceased; praying to be relieved against a Decree, lately made by the now Lord Keeper, on the Behalf of Mrs. Jane Potter, in the Court of Chancery:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Jane Potter may have a Copy of the said Appeal; and shall and she is hereby required to put in her Answer thereunto, in Writing, on Thursday the Nineteenth Day of this Instant December, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

King's Answer to the Address.

The Earl of Bridgewater reported His Majesty's Answer to the Address made to His Majesty, as followeth; (videlicet,)

"That the List should be complied with, as far as it can be done.

State of the Nation; Scots Act for establishing an E. India Company:

Then the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee, to consider further of the State of the Nation, in relation to the late Act of Parliament in Scotland, for establishing an East India Company there.

After some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Earl of Huntingdon reported, "That the Committee was of Opinion, that the House should be moved, That Mr. Robert Blackwood and Mr. James Balfoore do attend this House, and bring with them the Books of Subscriptions to the East India Company in Scotland; that the Commissioners of the Customs, the East India, Turkey, Africa, and Hamburgh Companies, and the West India and any other Merchants, be ordered to lay before this House, in Writing, what they conceive may be the proper Means to remedy the Inconveniencies arising by the late Act of Parliament made in Scotland, for establishing an East India Company there."

To which the House agreed; and ordered as follows, (videlicet,)

Blackwood & al. to attend:

"It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That Mr. Robert Blackwood and Mr. James Balfoore do attend this House on Thursday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, and bring with them the Books of Subscriptions to the East India Company in Scotland."

Commissioners of Customs, and Merchants, to propose Means for remedying the Inconveniences of that Act.

"It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Commissioners of the Customs, the East India, Turkey, African, and Hamburgh Companies, and the West India and other Merchants, do lay before this House, in Writing, on Thursday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, what they conceive may be the proper Means to remedy the Inconveniencies arising by the late Act of Parliament made in Scotland, for establishing an East India Company there."

Lancasheir & al. to attend:

"It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That Mr. Lancasheir, Mr. Robert Duglas, Mr. Thomas Skynner, Mr. Paul Duckmanicque, Mr. Anthony Merry, Mr. Gabriel Glover, Mr. Robert Williamson, Mr. James Deanes, Mr. David Cambell, Mr. Archibald Wilson, Mr. George Mussell, Mrs. Anne Charleton, and Mr. William Paterson, do attend this House on Thursday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon."

State of the Nation, in regard to the Scots Act.

"It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the House shall be put into a Committee, to consider further of the State of the Nation, in relation to the late Act of Parliament in Scotland, for establishing an East India Company there, on Thursday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon."
