Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to prevent Exactions of the Occupiers of Locks and Weirs upon the River of Thames Westward; and for ascertaining the Rates of Water Carriage upon the said River."

Messages from H. C. to return Howland's and Peirce's Bills.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Thomas Littleton and others:

To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable Elizabeth Howland, the Widow of John Howland Esquire, deceased, to settle Lands upon the Marriage of his sole Daughter and Heir; and for settling Lands upon the said Widow Howland for her Life, in Lieu of Dower; and for Indemnifying Sir Josias Child and the said Widow Howland, Grandfather and Mother of the said Heir, in disposing of the Personal Estate belonging to her, upon her Preferment in Marriage, she being under Age of One and Twenty Years;" to which they have agreed, without any Amendment.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Waller and others:

To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the vesting certain Lands and Tenements, the Estate of George Gilbert Peirce, of The Middle Temple, London, Esquire, in Trustees, for the raising Monies, for the Payment of his Debts;" to which they have agreed, with One Amendment, whereunto they desire their Lordships Concurrence.

Which, being read Three Times, was agreed to; and ORDERED, That the Commons have Notice thereof.

Bill to continue Laws.

ORDERED, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, on Wednesday next; and that the Judges do then attend.

Reflections on this House, in a Cause in Chancery, concerning Convex Lights:

The Clerk in Chancery, according to Order, delivered, at the Bar, the Proceedings in Chancery touching Convex Lights, wherein were some Reflections upon this House.

Sir T. Powis, Sloane, & al. to attend;

It was thereupon ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That Sir Thomas Powis, Mr. Sloane, Mr. Clapham, and Mr. Hutchinson, do attend this House on Monday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; and all other Persons attending this Day do then also attend.

Sir T. Millington, & al. to attend.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That Sir Thomas Millington and Dr. Hobbs do attend this House on Monday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; and bring with them the Contract or Agreement touching the Convex Lights, made between Westerne, Moore, and Hutchinson.
