Message from H. C. to return Wapping Parish Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Parry and others:

Who returned the Bill, intituled, "An Act for erecting a new Parish, to be called the Parish of St. John of Wapping, in the County of Midd'x;" and acquainted this House, that they have agreed to their Lordships Amendments to the said Bill.

Special Bails, Bill concerning.

Then the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for settling the Method of taking special Bails in the Court of King's Bench, and for the siling, entering, and doggeting of all special Bails in the several Courts of Law at Westm."

And, after some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Earl of Stamford reported, "That the Committee had sat upon the said Bill."

ORDERED, That this House shall be put into a Committee upon the said Bill this Day Fortnight.

E. Manchester, to execute the Office of Great Chamberlain.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Right Honourable the Earl of Manchester shall execute the Office of Lord Great Chamberlain this Day.

A Message from the House of Commons, by Mr. Boyle and others:

Who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act for appointing and enabling Commissioners to examine, take, and state, the Public Accompts of the Kingdom;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Message from thence, for a Conference, on the Bill for more easy Recovery of Small Tithes.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Clark and others:

To desire a Conference with this House, upon the Subject-matter of the Amendments made by this House to the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the more easy Recovery of Small Tithes."

To which the House agreed.

Answer.

And the Commons were called in again; and told, "That the Lords do agree to the Conference, as desired; and appoint it presently, in the Painted Chamber."

Then the House named the Lords following to be Managers of the Conference; (videlicet,)

Message from H. C. with a Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Boscawen and others:

To let their Lordships know, that the Commons have passed a Bill, intituled, "An Act for the better Encouragement of Privateers;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Privateers, for better Encouragement of, Bill.

Hodie 1^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the better Encouragement of Privateers."

ORDERED, That the said Bill shall be read the Second Time on Wednesday next.

His Majesty, being arrayed in His Royal Robes and Regal Crown, ascended His Throne, the Peers being in their Robes also: The Usher of the Black Rod was commanded to signify His Majesty's Pleasure to the Commons, "That they presently attend His Majesty."

Who being come, with their Speaker; he made a short Speech to the King, relating to the Poll Bill to be passed, and delivered the same to the Clerk of the Parliaments; who delivered the same to the Clerk of the Crown; the Title whereof was read, as followeth; (videlicet,)

Bills passed.

"1. An Act for raising Money by a Poll, payable Quarterly, for One Year, for carrying on a vigorous War against France."

To which Bill the Royal Assent was pronounced, in these Words; (videlicet,)

"Le Roy et la Reyne, remerciant les bons Subjects, acceptant leur Benevolence, et ainsi l'veulent."

In like Manner the Bills following were passed:

"2. An Act for continuing the Act for punishing Officers and Soldiers, who shall mutiny, or desert Their Majesties Service, and for punishing false Musters, and for the Payment of Quarters for One Year longer."

"3. An Act for the Exportation of Iron, Copper, and Mundic Metal."

"4. An Act for the Importation of Salt-petre for One Year."

To which Bills the Royal Assent was pronounced, in these Words; (videlicet,)

"Le Roy et la Reyne l' veulent."

"5. An Act for settling the Estate of Sir John Maynard Knight, deceased, late One of the Lords Commissioners for the Custody of the Great Seal of England."

"6. An Act for Payment of the Debts of John Lord Stawell, lately deceased."

"7. An Act to enable Trustees to sell Part of the Estate of Nathaniel Brent Gentleman, deceased, to raise Money, for Payment of his Debts, and Maintenance for his Children, who are Infants."

"8. An Act for the vesting the Third Part of the Manor of Leckby, alias Letby, and other Lands in the County of Yorke, in Trustees, to be sold; and for settling a Farm and other Lands in Terling and Much Leighs, in the County of Essex, of greater Value, to and upon the same Uses."

"9. An Act for erecting a new Parish, to be called the Parish of St. John of Wapping, in the County of Middl'x."

To which Bills the Royal Assent was pronounced, in these Words; (videlicet,)

"Soit fait come il est desire."

Then His Majesty was pleased to withdraw; and the Commons went to their House.

Message from H. C. to return the Bill for enabling Their Majesties to make Grants, &c. of the Dutchy of Cornwall.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Boscawen and others:

Who returned the Bill, intituled, "An Act for enabling Their Majesties to make Grants, Leases, and Copies of Offices, Lands, and Hereditaments, Parcel of Their Dutchy of Cornwall, or annexed to the same; and for Confirmation of Leases and Grants already made;" and acquainted this House, that they have agreed to the Amendments made by their Lordships to the said Bill.
