ORDERED, That the Earl of Thannet hath Leave to go into the Country for his Health, he intending to attend this House again after a little Time.

Bill to annul Grants to Papists.

Then the House was adjourned into a Committee, to consider of the Bill to annull and make void all Gifts and Grants made to Papists, or to any in Trust to the Use of Papists.

After some Debate, the House was resumed.

Message from H. C. with an Address to the King.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Auditor Done and others:

Who brought up an Address, to be presented to His Majesty from both Houses; to which their Lordships Concurrence is desired.

Which Address was read; and then read by Paragraphs.

The House agreed to the First Paragraph.

ORDERED, That the further Consideration of this Address is adjourned until Tuesday Morning, being to be the First Business; and nothing to intervene.

E. of Fauconberg introduced.

This Day the Lord Viscount Fauconberg, being by the King's Favour created Earl of Fauconberg, being in his Parliament Robes, was brought into the House by the Earl of Shrewsbury and the Earl of Maclesfeld, being also in their Robes, the Usher of the Black Rod and Garter King at Arms going before; and so was presented to the Lords.

He delivered his Patent for his Creation to the Speaker; who gave it to Garter, and he brought it to the Table; and there it was read.

The Patent is dated the 9 of April, 1689; and then his Lordship was brought and placed on the lower End of the Earls Bench.

E. of Monmouth introduced.

In the like Manner John Lord Viscount Mordaunt was introducted, between the Earl of Shrewsbury and the Earl of Maclesfeld.

His Patent to create him Earl of Monmouth was brought to the Table, and there read, bearing Date the 9th of April Instant; and then he was brought and placed on the Earls Bench.

E. of Montagu introduced.

In the like Manner, Ralfe Lord Mountagu, being created Earl Mountagu, was introducted, between the Earl of Shrewsbury and the Earl of Maclesfeld.

His Patent was read, which bears Date the 9th of April Instant; and then his Lordship was brought and placed in his due Place.

E. of Marlborough introduced.

In the like Manner, John Lord Churchill, being created Earl of Marlborough, was (fn. 1) introduced, between the Earl of Shrewsbury and the Earl of Maclesfeld.

His Patent was read at the Table, dated the 9th of April Instant; and then His Lordship was brought and placed in his due Place.

Vis. Lumley introduced.

In like Manner Richard Lord Lumley, being created Viscount Lumley, was introduced, between the Lord Viscount Newport and the Lord Viscount Weymouth.

His Patent was read at the Table, being dated the Tenth of April Instant; and then he was brought and placed in his due Place.

E. of Rutland, Leave to be absent.

ORDERED, That the Earl of Rutland hath Leave to go into the Country for his Health, he intending to give his Attendance on this House again in a little Time.

Agutter versus Collins.

The House being moved, "That a Day may be appointed for hearing the Cause, wherein Nathaniell Agutter and Mary his Wife are Plaintiffs, and Jane Collins Widow, Samuell Collins Gentleman, Anne and Mary Collins, and Elizabeth Collins, and William Pack and Amy his Wife, Defendants:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel on both Sides, at the Bar, on Saturday next, being the Twentieth Day of April Instant, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; whereof the said Nathaniell Agutter and Mary his Wife are to cause timely Notice to be given to the said Jane Collins Widow, Samuell Collins Gentleman, and the other Defendants, by leaving a Copy of this Order with their Clerk or Solicitor in Chancery, to the End they attend with their Counsel accordingly.

Serle versus Clarke et al.

ORDERED, That Wednesday next be, and is hereby, appointed for giving Judgement in the Cause between Serle and Clarke, &c.
