A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir William Beversham and Sir Edward Low:
To desire a present Conference, in the Painted Chamber, upon the Message lately received from the House of Commons, concerning the recalling of His Majesty's Subjects out of the Service of the French King.

Then the Standing Orders of this House were read.
Sir Peter Pett, King's Advocate in Ireland, Privilege.
The House took up the Consideration of Sir Peter Pett's Petition.
And, after Debate thereof,
The Question being put, "Whether the Case of Sir Peter Pett, who desires Privilege of Parliament as being His Majesty's Servant, shall be referred to the Committee of Privileges?"
It was Resolved in the Negative.
Then the Question being put, "Whether Sir Peter Pett shall have the Privilege of Parliament?"
It was Resolved in the Affirmative.
Whereupon the House made this ensuing Order:
"Upon reading the Petition of Sir Peter Pett, His Majesty's Advocate in the Kingdom of Ireland; shewing, That he, being His Majesty's Servant, and now here upon His Majesty's Affairs, is prosecuted, by Isaac Woodgreen, William Morecock, and others (now sitting the Parliament), concerning a House and certain Lands belonging to it, in the Manor of Stebunheath, contrary to the Privilege of Parliament: It is Resolved, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Sir Peter Pett shall be, and is hereby, privileged against all Proceedings had, or to be had, in the said Suit, during the Time of Privilege of Parliament; and hereof the said Isaac Woodgreen, William Morecock, and other Persons concerned in the said Suit, their Counsel, Attornies, and Solicitors, are to take Notice, as they will answer the contrary to this House."

Starkey sent for, about the Libel, called A Letter from a Person of Quality, &c.
ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Lords Committees appointed to consider what Brand and Judgement by this House shall be set and given upon a Printed Book, intituled, A Letter from a Person of Quality to his Friend in the Country, and to enquire out the Author, Publisher, and Printer of it, have hereby Power given them, to send for Persons, Books, and Writings; and in particular Mr. Starkey, the Bookseller; and that their Lordships have likewise Power to require the Master and Wardens of the Company of Stationers to do their Duties enjoined by the Statute of 14° Car'l. 2di, concerning searching for seditious Books.
Barret versus L. Loftus.
Whereas Dacre Barret, alias Leonard, Esquire, hath, by Order of this House, dated the 10th of May last, brought in such Allegations and Matter of Fact in his Petition, as he doth insist on, relating to the Merits of his Cause, to which the Lord Viscount Loftus, of the Kingdom of Ireland, was, by Order dated the 31th of the said Month of May, ordered to put in such Allegations as he shall think fit to insist upon, by Way of Answer to the Matters set forth in the said Petition, which he hath not hitherto done:
It is this Day ORDERED, by &c. That this House will hear Counsel, at the Bar, to make good the Allegations of the said Dacre Barret in his said Petition set forth, on Wednesday the 8th Day of December next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; whereof the said Dacre Barret is to cause timely Notice to be given to the said Viscount Loftus, or his Agent in the said Cause, to the End he may also be then heard, if he hath ought to offer relating thereunto.
Villiers Claim to the Title of Viscount Purbeck.
Whereas the King's Majesty was pleased, on the 28th Day of April last, to refer the Petition of Robert Villiers, claiming the Title of Viscount Purbeck, to this House, to hear, examine, and consider the Petitioner's Claim, and to judge the same as to their Lordships shall seem just and reasonable:
It is this Day ORDERED, by &c. That this House will take the said Petition so referred by His Majesty into their Consideration on Wednesday the 24th Day of this Instant November, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.
Cusack versus L. Dungannon.
Upon the Petition of John Cusack Gentleman, received this Day; shewing, "That, upon his Petition and Appeal depending in this House, he obtained an Order, dated the 15th Day of April last, for the Lord Dungannon, and Nicholas Bolton of Ireland, to appear, and put in their Answer to the said Appeal, within One Month next after Notice given to them; before which Time expired, the Parliament was prorogued; and therefore prayeth, that a Day may be appointed for that Purpose:"
It is this Day ORDERED, by &c. That the said Lord Dungannon being an Infant by his Guardian, and Nicholas Bolton, be, and are hereby, required to put in their Answer or respective Answers (in Writing) to the said Appeal, within One Month next after Notice hereof given to them in the Kingdom of Ireland.
Trial of Peers for regulating, Bill.
ORDERED, That on Friday next the House shall be put into a Committee, to consider of the Bill for the better regulating the Trial of the Peers of England.
L. Mohun and his Mother.
This House having received Information of some Differences lately happened between the Lord Mohun a Member of this House, and Dame Katherine Mohun Widow, his Mother:
The Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled do hereby recommend it to the Earl of Essex, the Earl of Shaftesbury, and the Lord Holles, to intercede and mediate for composing all Differences between the said Lord Mohun and his Mother, if they can; and make Report unto the House.
Adjourn.
