Poll Bill delivered to Cler. Parl. from H. C.
Memorandum, That the Bill for raising Money by a Poll was this Morning delivered into the Custody of the Clerk of the Parliaments, from the House of Commons; and therefore no Occasion of a Conference, as was ordered on Saturday last.
Shillingford, alias Izard, versus Palmer.
ORDERED, That this House will hear Counsel on both Parts, at the Bar, to argue the Errors assigned by John Shillingford, alias Izard, upon a Writ of Error depending in this House, to which John Palmer is Defendant, To-morrow, being the Nineteenth Instant, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; whereof the said John Palmer is to cause timely Notice to be given to the said John Shillingford, alias Izard, or his Attorney in the said Cause.
Address, for a War with France.
The House was adjourned into a Committee, to proceed in the Consideration of the Address to be presented to His Majesty from both Houses.
The House being resumed;
The Lord Privy Seal reported, "That the Committee have been in Consideration of the said Address; and, after full Debate thereof, the Committee have thought sit to make some Amendments therein, which are offered to the Consideration of the House:
"The Amendments were these; (videlicet,)
"In the First Side, the 2d Line, after ["the"] insert ["Lords Spiritual and Temporal."]
"In the 12 Line, instead of ["immediately"] read ["with all the Expedition that can possibly consist with the Safety of Your Majesty's Affairs."]
"In the 22 Line, leave out ["And because Your Majesty's Endeavours, by Way of Mediation, have not produced those good Effects Your Majesty intended, we do most humbly beseech Your Majesty, That You would graciously be pleased to recall Your Ambassadors from Nimegen and France, and to cause the French Ambassador to depart from hence; that, Your Majesty being publicly disengaged from acting as a Mediator, or upon such Terms and Conditions as were then proposed, Your Majesty may enter into the War."]
"In the Second Side, 7th Line, instead of ["to no other End than"] read ["to the End"].
These Amendments were read Twice.
And the Question being put, "Whether to agree to this Address so amended?"
It was Resolved in the Affirmative.
ORDERED, That this Address, with these Amendments, be sent to the House of Commons, for their Concurrence therein.
Message to H. C. to return it.
A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by the Lord Chief Justice of the King's Bench and the Lord Chief Baron:
To let them know, that this House hath considered of the Address to be presented to His Majesty, which they brought up for their Lordships Concurrence; in which the Lords have agreed, with some Amendments, and desire the Commons Concurrence.
Nevile versus Nevile;
Registers in Chancery to attend with Books.
Whereas this House hath, by Order of the Fifteenth Instant, appointed to hear Counsel at the Bar, on both Parts, on Friday the 22th Instant, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, in the Cause upon the Petition of Richard Neville Esquire, against a Decree made in the Court of Chancery, on the Behalf of Anne Neville Widow, on the Eleventh of July last, and the Plea and Demurrer of the said Anne Neville put in thereunto:
It is this Day ORDERED, That the Registers of the Court of Chancery, who drew up the Orders in the said Cause there, be, and are hereby, required to attend this House on the 22th Instant, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, with the Books wherein the Minutes taken in the said Cause in the Court of Chancery are entered; and hereof they may not fail.
