The Chief Justice of the Court of Common Pleas sat Speaker this Day in the Place of the Lord Keeper, who is not well.

E. Anglesey versus Sir Maurice Eustace, Privilege.

Whereas, upon Complaint made to this House, "That Sir Maurice Eustace hath procured a Hearing to be appointed, at Serjeants Inne in Chancery Lane, on Wednesday the 17th of this Instant November, in a Cause wherein the Earl of Anglesey is concerned against the said Sir Maurice Eustace, which Appointment hath been served on the Counsel and Proctor of the Earl of Anglesey without his Consent, and contrary to the Privilege of Parliament," the said Sir Maurice Eustace this Day acknowledged the Matter of Fact at the Bar:

Sir Maurice Eustace's Suit in Chancery stayed.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That all Proceedings in the said Cause shall be stayed during the Continuance of Privilege of Parliament, unless his Lordship shall consent to the contrary; and, at the Request of the Earl of Anglesey, that the said Sir Maurice Eustace is hereby discharged from any further Attendance on this House concerning this Matter.

ORDERED, That the Lord Chamberlain is added to the Committee for Accompts.

Bill concerning Privilege and Judicature in Parliament.

The Lord Steward reported, "That the Committee for Privileges, according to the Direction of this House, have prepared a Bill concerning Privilege and Judicature in Parliament, which is humbly offered to the Consideration of the House."

The said Bill was commanded to be read presently.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for the limiting of certain Trials in Parliament, and Privilege of Parliament, and for ascertaining the Trial of Peers, and all other His Majesty's liege People."

Grenvile versus Elwes.

Whereas Counsel have been this Day heard at the Bar, on the Behalf of Bernard Grenvile Esquire, to this Point; videlicet,

"Whether the Decree of the Court of Chancery made the First Day of June, 1668, between Cutbert Morley Esquire, Plaintiff, and Jeremy Elwes, and Henry Elwes his Trustee, Defendants, be pursuant to the Order and Judgement of this House made the 31th of March 1668?"

It is this Day ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Counsel of the said Jeremy Elwes shall be heard, at the Bar, to the same Point, on Thursday the 18th Day of November Instant, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.
