The Chief Justice of the Court of Common Pleas sat Speaker this Day, in the Absence of the Lord Keeper, who is not well.
Bill concerning Privilege and Judicature in Parliament.
The Lord Steward reported, "That the Committee for Privileges have oftentimes (fn. 1) met, and proceeded far in preparing a Bill concerning Privilege and Judicature in Parliament; but they can go no further therein, until the Pleasure of this House be known, whether there shall be a Clause inserted touching the Trial of Peers."
Upon Debate whereof,
The Question being put, "Whether the Grand Committee for Privileges shall be directed to bring in a Clause for the Trial of the Peers in the Bill now preparing, concerning Privilege and Judicature in Parliament?"
It was Resolved in the Affirmative.
E. Anglesey versus Sir M. Eustace, Privilege.
Upon Complaint made to this House, "That Sir Maurice Eustace hath procured a Hearing to be appointed, at Serjeants Inne in Chancery Lane, on Wednesday the 17th Day of this Instant November, in a Cause wherein the Earl of Anglesey is concerned against the said Sir Maurice Eustace; which Appointment hath been served on the Counsel of the Earl of Anglesey without his Consent, and contrary to the Privilege of Parliament:"
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Sir Maurice Eustace, be, and is hereby, appointed to appear at the Bar of this House To-morrow at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, to answer his said Offence.

ORDERED, That the Committee for Privileges do meet To-morrow Morning at Nine of the Clock.
