Roch, alias Neroch, Forest Bill.
Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for Confirmation of the Disassorestation of the Forest of Roch, alias Neroch, in the County of Somersett (disafforested by His late Majesty Charles the First); and for the more sure settling of the Lands thereof formerly liable to the Forest Laws to the respective Owners, Purchasers, and Commoners, agreeable to His said Majesty's Agreements and Covenants with them in that Behalf."
Bp. of Winton and Rector of Bishops Waltham Bill.
The Earl of Petriburgh reported, "That the Committee have considered of the Bill to enable the Bishop of Winton to convey One Hundred Acres of Land, lying in the Great Disparked Park of Bishops Waltham; and they find that the Rector of Bishops Waltham consents thereunto: Therefore their Lordships are of Opinion, That the said Bill is fit to pass, with a few Alterations, which are offered to the Consideration of this House."
The said Alterations were read Twice, and Agreed to; and the said Bill is ordered to be engrossed, with the said Alterations.
Additional Bill concerning London Streets and Highway, and for regulating Hackney Coaches.
The Earl of Bridgwater reported, "That the Committee appointed to consider of the Defects in the Bill concerning the Repairing of the Highways and Streets near the Cities of London and Westm. have (fn. 2) met, and find many Imperfections therein; and they desire to know the Pleasure of this House, whether their Lordships will please to admit a supplemental Bill to be brought, for the Remedy of those Defects."
And the House giving Leave, his Lordship presented a Bill prepared for that Purpose; which was received.
Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, "An additional Act for regulating and ordering of Buildings, and for amending of Highways and Sewers, and for making clean of the Streets and other Places, in and about the Cities of London and Westminster, and for regulating and licensing of Hackney Coaches."
River Avon Bill.
Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for making the River of Avon navigable, from Christ Church, to the City of New Sarum."
ORDERED, That the Consideration of this Bill is committed to these Lords following:
Their Lordships, or any Five; to meet To-morrow in the Afternoon, at Three of the Clock, in the Prince's Lodgings; and have Power to adjourn from Time to Time.
Ld. Poulett & al. to sell Lands in Hants Bill.
The Lord Viscount de Stafford reported, "That the Committee appointed to consider of the Bill concerning the Lord Edward Pawlett have heard all Parties concerned therein, and have consented thereunto, with some few Amendments, which are offered to their Lordships Consideration."
The said Amendments were read Twice, and Agreed; and the Bill is ordered to be engrossed, with the said Amendments.
ORDERED, That the Bishop of Winton is added to the Committee for the Earl of Thannett's Bill.
River Medway Bill.
Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for making the River of Medway, from Maidston upwards, navigable."
The Question being put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"
It was Resolved in the Affirmative.
A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Nathaniell Hobart and Sir William Glascocks Knights:
To deliver them the Bill for making the River of Medway navigable, and to desire their Concurrence therein.
Pin-makers Bill.
ORDERED, That the Committee for the Bill concerning the Corporation of Pin-makers do meet Tomorrow in the Afternoon, at Three of the Clock.
ORDERED, That the Duke of Bucks is added to the Committee for the Bill concerning Deeping Fenns.
Sir R. Carr and Hume versus Philips.
Upon reading the Petition of Sir Robert Carr Knight, and Anne Humes Spinster, complaining against Fabian Philips Esquire, concerning the Office of Filazer of London and Midd. and the Answer of the said Fabian Philips to the said Petition, put in this Day:
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That Counsel on both Sides shall be heard, at the Bar of this House, upon the said Petition and Answer, on Wednesday the Fifteenth Day of this Instant February, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, whereof timely Notice is to be given to the Defendant, to the End all Parties may come prepared for the said Hearing accordingly.
