Message from H. C. with a Declaration about the Payment of Customs and Excise.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Edward Turner Esquire, &c.; who brought up a Declaration, to quicken the Payment of Customs and Excise.

Read, and committed to the Earls of Northumb. South'ton, and Lord Robertes; who presently withdrew, and returned.

And the Lord Robertes reported some Alterations in the said Declaration; which, being read, were agreed to.

The Answer returned was:

Answer.

That this House will take their Message into Consideration, and will return a speedy Answer, by Messengers of their own.

Message to them, with it.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Doctor Childe and Doctor Littleton:

To deliver to them the Declaration, with the Alterations now read, and desire their Concurrence therein.

Bushell, to attend the Committee.

ORDERED, That the Keeper of Newgate do bring Mr. Bushell before the Lords Committees for Petitions To-morrow in the Afternoon, at Three o'Clock.

Ordinance for a Monthly Assessment.

The House was adjourned during Pleasure; and the Committees for the Ordinance for raising Seventy Thousand Pounds per Mensem did withdraw, to take the same into Consideration.

The House was resumed.

Letter to the King, to congratulate His safe Landing, &c.

ORDERED, That these Lords following are appointed, to draw up a Letter to be sent to His Majesty, to express the great Sense of this House for His Majesty's safe Landing; to know His Pleasure, both for Time and Place, where this House may wait upon Him; and desire Him to consult His own Safety, for the Manner of His Return:
