Bill concerning Pawus.
The Earl of Dorsett reported from the Committee, the Bill for registering of Sales and Pawns, as fit to pass, with some Alterations and Provisos, which are offered to the Consideration of the House.
The said Alterations and Provisos were read Twice, and Agreed to.
Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for Confirmation of the Office of Register of Sales and Pawns, made by certain Retailing Brokers in London and Westm. and Places adjacent."
The Question being put, "Whether this Bill, with the Alterations and Provisos now read, shall pass?"
It was Resolved in the Affirmative.
E. of Derby's Bill.
The Earl of North'on reported from the Committee, the Bill concerning the Earl of Derby, with some Amendments; which are offered to the Consideration of the House.
The said Alterations were read Twice, and Agreed; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the said Alterations.
Message from H. C. with Bills; and to return Eurick's.
A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Edward Smith Esquire and others; who brought up these Bills following:
1. "An Act for Execution of certain Persons attainted of High Treason."
2. "An Act for the disuniting the Hundreds of Dudston and Kingsbarton from the County of the City of Gloucester, and restoring them to be Part of the County of Gloucester."
3. "An Act for Relief of Collectors of Public Monies, and their Assistants and Deputies."
To which Three Bills the House of Commons desires their Lordships Concurrence.
4. They do return a Bill sent down from their Lordships, with Alterations, concerning Mr. Ettrick; wherein the House of Commons do concur.
Bill concerning Quakers.
The Earl of Bridgwater reported from the Committee, the Bill concerning Quakers, with Alterations; which, being read Twice, were Agreed to.
Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for preventing the Mischiefs and Dangers that may arise, by certain Persons called Quakers refusing to take lawful Oaths."
The Question being put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"
It was Resolved in the Affirmative.
Message to H. C. with it.
A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Justinian Lewin and Sir Moundeford Bramston:
To deliver to them the Bill concerning the Quakers; and desire the Concurrence of the House of Commons to the Alterations.
Message from thence, to remind the Lords of Two Bills.
A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by the Lord Viscount Falkland and others:
To put their Lordships in Mind of Two Bills brought from the House of Commons; one, concerning Uniformity of Worship; the other, concerning Ministers; wherein they desire their Lordships would please to give what convenient Expedition may be.
Answer.
The Answer returned was:
That their Lordships have considered their Message, and will send an Answer by Messengers of their own.
Hardy released.
Upon reading the Petition of Mathew Hardy, now in the Custody of the Serjeant at Arms, for his Contempt, in not obeying an Order of this House, dated the 24th Day of July, 1661, who hath in his said Petition acknowledged his hearty Sorrow for the same; and the Lords being satisfied in what he hath done towards the Performance thereof:
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Mathew Hardy, paying his Fees and other Dues belonging to the Officers of this House and their Agents employed in this particular Service, shall be released of his said Restraint or Imprisonment: And this to be a sufficient Warrant in that Behalf.
