Bill to prevent vexatious Suits.
The Lord Privy Seal reported, "That the Committee for the Bill for preventing Oppressions and Vexations in the Law have (fn. 2) met, and considered of the said Bill, wherein they have thought fit to make some Alterations, which are offered to their Lordships Consideration."
The Alterations were read Twice, and Agreed to; and ORDERED, That the said Bill be engrossed, with these Alterations.
Hull Churches Bill.
Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for dividing Trynity Church, in Kingston upon Hull, from Hassle."

Message to H. C. with Bills.
A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Dr. Bennett and Dr. Wolseley:
To deliver to them Two Bills, which have passed this House; and to desire their Concurrence therein; one, concerning Hatfeild Levell; the other, for Establishment of the Fen Lands formerly drained by Sir Anthony Thomas Knight, deceased.
Message from thence, for Witnelles to be sworn at this Bar, to be examined by them concerning a Bill.
A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Crouch and others:
That their Lordships having sent down to them a Bill for making void certain Fines levied by Sir Edward Powell and his Lady, the House of Commons desire that such Witnesses may be sworn at their Lordships Bar as either Parties shall produce to be examined, upon the Hearing of the Case in the House of Commons.
The Answer returned was:

That their Lordships will take their Message into Consideration, and send an Answer by Messengers of their own.
ORDERED, That the Consideration of this Message is hereby referred to the Committee of Privileges; to consider of Precedents in this Cause, and afterwards to make Report thereof to this House.
Sir H. and Sir J. Thynne.
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That on Monday come Sevennight, which will be the 16th of this Instant December, this House will hear the Cause of Sir Henry Fredericke Thynne by Counsel, at this Bar, upon the whole Merits of the Cause, as it stands stated in the Bill depending before their Lordships: And Sir James Thynne may then attend, with his Counsel and Witnesses, if he please.
Goodwin sent for, for Contempt of the E. of Manchester's Order; and Barnes & al. to appear.
Upon the Oath of Moses Perkins, a Messenger of this House; shewing, "That he did serve the Order of this High Court, dated the 23th of November last, upon the Person of Henry Goodwin, of Barling, in the County of Essex, and left a Copy of the said Order at the several Places of Abode of Thomas Barnes, Andrew Graves, and Richard Finch, to answer such Things as were charged against them, on the Behalf of the Lord Chamberlain of His Majesty's Household and a Member of Parliament;" which Order hath been disobeyed by the said Parties, by not appearing according to the Command thereof:
It is ORDERED, That the Serjeant at Arms, or his Deputy, shall attach the Body of the said Henry Goodwine, as a Delinquent, upon whom the said Order hath been personally served, and forthwith bring him before their Lordships to answer his Contempt; and that the said Barnes, Graves, and Finch, shall be served again, to appear on Friday the Seventeenth of this Instant December, to answer such Matters as they stand charged with, before the Lords in Parliament.
Capt. Swinhoe to be attached, for not appearing to answer L. Grey's Suit.
Upon the Oath of William Warren, made this Day at the Bar; shewing, "That he served the Order of this House, dated the 26th of June, 1661, upon Captain Gilbert Swinhoe, for his Appearance before the Lords in Parliament, to answer a Complaint made against him, concerning the Lord Grey of Wark, a Member of Parliament, and Peer of this Realm;" which Order he hath disobeyed, by not appearing accordingly:
It is ORDERED, That the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, or his Deputy, shall forthwith attach the Body of the said Gilbert Swinboe, and bring him before their Lordships on Saturday next, to answer his said Contempt and Complaint aforesaid: And this to be a sufficient Warrant in that Behalf.
