Message from H. C. to remind the Lords of a Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir John Duncomb and others:

To put their Lordships in Mind of a Bill formerly brought from the House of Commons, concerning Sheriffs; wherein they desire their Lordships Concurrence, with as much Expedition as conveniently may be.

Sheriffs Accompts Bill.

ORDERED, That the Committee for this Bill, being now sine Die, shall meet To-morrow Morning, at Eight of the Clock.

And these Lords following are added to the said Committee:

Bill to illegitimate Ly. Roos's Child.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for the illegitimating of the Child named Ignotus, born of the Body of the Lady Anne Rosse."

Immediately before the Reading of the aforesaid Bill was read a Petition of Anne Lady Roos, whereupon this Order following was made; videlicet,

Lv. Roos, Liberty to attend this Business, and Counsel assigned her.

"ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Cause concerning Anne Lady Roos, Wife of John Lord Roos, upon a Bill and Petition depending in this House, shall be heard, at this Bar, on Tuesday the Sixth Day of May next, by Counsel on all Sides; and that the said Lady shall have free Liberty to go in and out in Safety, without Molestation, for the following and looking after her Business, during all the Time of the depending of it in this House; and further, that Mr. Arthur Trever, Mr. Jones, Mr. Scroggs, and Mr. Offley (mentioned in the Petition), are hereby assigned her for Counsel; and lastly, that the Lord Marquis of Dorchester and the Earl of Rutland may have Copies of the said Petition, if their Lordships please."

Morley versus Elwes & al.

The Cause concerning Cutbert Morley Esquire, Jeremy Ekwes, Henry Elwes, Laurance Maidwell Esquire, John Hill, Henry Pownell, and John Jackson, coming this Day to a full Hearing, by Counsel, at the Bar, upon a Petition of the said Morley, exhibited to this House:

It is ORDERED and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition, and the whole Matters therein contained, are hereby totally dismissed this House; and the several Parties left to their ordinary Course at Law or Equity.

Yates versus Hoskins, in Error.

Upon hearing the Counsel argue the Errors at this Bar, in the Writ of Error depending in this House, between Yates Plaintiff and Hoskins Defendant:

It is ORDERED, That this House will give Judgement herein on Thursday next; in the mean Time, Mr. Justice Windham and Mr. Baron Tourner shall be attended with the Record, who are to state the Case, and report their Opinions therein to this House, that their Lordships may proceed to Judgement.

Read versus Regem, in Error.

Whereas Reade, Plaintiff in a Writ of Error wherein the King is made Defendant, hath assigned his Errors, according to an Order of the 14th of March last past, and hath alledged Diminution:

It is ORDERED, That the said Plaintiff shall certify Diminution on Thursday next, the 24th of this Instant, that this House may proceed therein as shall be thought fit.

Adjourn.
