7. Receiver's Account 20 July 1488–7 August 1489

The roll is complete and the first sheet is endorsed with the date of the account in a contemporary hand. The roll consists of seven sheets 30 cm wide and sewn end to end. With the exception of the first sheet, which measures 28 cm, and sheet five which measures 37 cm in length, the sheets are 40–42 cm long.

Gifts by the order of the Dean to mimes and minstrels of the King and other lords and to various other persons, as shown in one folio of payments, £2 16s. 8d.
To the King for a fifteenth for the manors of Bowes and Polehouse at the terms of St. Martin in Winter and St. John the Baptist, 13s. 4d.
To the lord of Edmonton for release of a suit of court (12d.) and for money called Peter's Pence (4d.), 1s. 4d.
For the expenses of the accountant, William Clarkson and John Saperton, riding to and from Thorpe, Kirby and Walton and other parts of the Dean's demesne at the feasts of St. Anne 1488 and 1489 to hold court and collect money, £2 3s. 6d.
For the expenses of Roger and John riding from London to Caddington and Kensworth in Bedfordshire at the feasts of St. Peter ad Vincula 1488 and 1489 to receive money and to supervise the good state of the demesnes, together with 7d. for their expenses riding to the mansion of Master Lovell in Enfield upon the Dean's business, 6s. 2½d.
Paid for shoeing the Dean's horses, as shown by a tally, 5s. 7d. (fn. 4)
For five gowns at 6s. 8d. each, granted by the Dean to five farmers on the taking of their farms, viz. to the collector of rents of assize at Belchamp St. Paul, to the farmer of the rectory there, and to the farmers of Wickham St. Paul, Drayton, and Willesden, £1 13s. 4d.
The price of a gown for Thomas Morys, not paid for in the livery at the term of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist in the preceding year, as shown in a bill, 4s. 8½d.
