Two parts of a toft, orchard, &c., 100a. arable, 10a. meadow, a wood called Cobbenouere, 42 free tenants rendering 7l. 2s. 5 1/2d., and 4 bondmen rendering 6s. 9d. yearly, two parts of a water-mill, a bovate of land and wood called ‘le Fernylygth,’ and 7 1/2a. wood in Draywellebrouk, held of Ralph de Freschenvill and Margaret his wife, and their heirs male, as of the manor of Staveley, by service of 1/2 knight’s fee and suit at the court of Staveley.
Harlethorp Field. A bovate of land called ‘le Holweclou,’ held of Geoffrey de Dethek by service of 2s. yearly; and a bovate of land held of Roger de Braillesford, parson of Dronfeild, by service of 2s. yearly.
Barley and ‘le Leghes.’ The third part of the abovesaid toft with other lands, held jointly with Mary his wife, who survives, as of acquisition (ut de perquisito) to them and the heirs of the said Robert, of Henry le Couk of Wyrssop by service of 54s. yearly.

Eketon, Barton, Siwell, Hangyndehoughton and Mallesle. Certain lands sometime held by the said William, but granted by him by charter before Michaelmas last to John de Assheby, clerk, his brother, to hold to him and to his heirs, held of divers lords by divers services; but not of the king in chief.
Assheby Mares. A capital messuage, 45a. arable, a windmill, 6a. wood and 9s. rent, similarly held and before his death granted to the said John for life with reversion to the said William and his heirs; whereof a third part of the messuage, 36a. arable, 6a. wood, and the said rent, are held of the king in chief as parcel of the manor of Assheby, which is held of the king in chief by the forfeiture of the Normans, by service of lifting his right hand yearly on Christmas day towards the king wherever he may be in England; two parts of the messuage and 9a. land are held of Elias de Asshebourn by service of 18d. yearly; and the windmill is held of the heirs of John de Mars by service of 1/2d. yearly.

Great Billing. Two parts of the manor (extent given), lately held jointly with Petronilla his wife; which manor they had of the gift of Robert Barry father of the said Thomas, excepting 2 virgates of land which the said Robert previously granted for life to Richard his son, 2 1/2 virgates to John his son, 2 virgates to Joan his daughter, and 4 virgates to Robert Barry parson of Gothurst, to hold to the said Thomas and Petronilla and the heirs of the said Thomas by fine levied in the king’s court. Maud late the wife of the said Robert holds the third part of the manor in dower; and on the feast of SS. Simon and Jude last the said Thomas demised the said two parts with the reversions of the third part and of the said 10 1/2 virgates, to John de Lungevill, knight, for life. A moiety of the manor was held of Roger de Mortuo Mari of Wygemor by service of a knight’s fee, and is now held of the king in chief by his forfeiture, and the other moiety is held of Robert de Insula by service of a knight’s fee.
