SOUTHAMPTON. Inq. taken at Winchester, Saturday after All Hallows, 2 Richard II.
The said John held the under-mentioned manor and land in his demesne as of fee. A third part of the manor was held in dower by Joan, his mother, late the wife of William de Fienles. She died on the feast of SS. Peter and Paul last.
Compton Monceux. The manor, held of John de Warblynton, as of the manor of Sirfelde, service not known; and 30 a. arable in the said manor of Compton, held of the duke of Lancaster, as of his manor of King’s Sombourne, by service of a red rose at Midsummer. A third part of the said manor of Compton was held in dower by Joan mother of the said John, as above, who died as above.

113. Eleanor Gros
Writ to John Philipot, mayor and escheator of London to enquire whether John Gros, knight, is son and heir of the said Eleanor, and if so, of what age he is; as Edward III,— in pursuance of an inquisition taken by John Not, late mayor and escheator, finding that Eleanor held on the day of her death a messuage in Tower ward of the king in chief in free burgage, and had no heirs,—by letters patent [Calendar of Patent Rolls, 1361–1364, p. 434] granted the said messuage for life to Robert de Hull, one of his mariners, thinking that it pertained to him as an escheat because Eleanor died without heir, and the said John Gros has now claimed restitution of the same as Eleanor’s son and heir. 9 December, 2 Richard II.

The said John Gros is Eleanor’s son and heir, and is 50 years of age and more.

114. Agnes, late the wife of John Gouys, or Gouitz
Writ of Mandamus, 29 April, 2 Richard II
DORSET. Inq. (indented) taken at Dorcheschestre (sic), Friday before St. Peter’s Chains, 3 Richard II.
She held the under-mentioned hamlet in joint feoffment with the said John, her husband, to them and the heirs of their bodies, with remainder to the right heirs of Robert de Gouitz, by a fine thereof (under the name of 6 messuages, 3 carucates of land, 9 a. meadow, 100 a. pasture and 5s. rent in Wynterborn Assh) levied in the king’s court at York in three weeks from Michaelmas, 11 Edward III. The said John and Agnes died without heir of their bodies, Agnes surviving John by 10 years. John Gouitz, aged 21 years and more, is kinsman and right heir of the said Robert Gouitz, to wit, son of Walter his son, and the premises ought to remain to him by virtue of the fine aforesaid.
Wynterborn Assh. The hamlet (extent given), held of the heir of Robert Latimere, a minor in the king’s wardship, by service of a sixth part of a knight’s fee.
She died on 5 April, 44 Edward III. Isabel and Agnes, her daughters by her second husband, are her heirs, and are respectively 15 and 12 years of age, but they have no inheritance by their mother.
William Cheine, late escheator, seized the premises into the king’s hand by reason of the minority of the heir of Robert Latimere, of whom they are held, and on 5 May, 44 Edward III, the king by letters patent committed the custody of them to William Payn until the lawful age of the aforesaid John son and heir of Walter Gouitz, together with the marriage of the said John [Calendar of Fine Rolls, 1369–1377, p. 70]; and the said William has accordingly occupied the same and taken the issues and profits thereof ever since the death of Agnes.

115. William Holm, an idiot
Writ to the escheator to enquire concerning the value and tenure of the lands etc. of the said William in Wynchestre. 28 January, 2 Richard II.
SOUTHAMPTON. Inq. taken at New Alresford, 2 February, 2 Richard II.
He holds the under-mentioned tenements etc.
Winchester. A tenement and a ‘rekk,’ held of the hospital of St. John, Winchester, vinitar’ of Hyde by Winchester, as terrage (de terragio), by service of 7s. yearly; a tenement and a ‘rekk,’ held of the bishop of Winchester and Alice late the wife of Robert Holm by service of 5s. 10d. yearly; a cottage with a curtilage, and 2 ‘rekk,’ held of the hospital of St. Mary Magdalen, vinitar’ of Hyde by Winchester, as terrage (de terragio), by service of 3s. 6d. yearly. The premises are worth nothing beyond the said services and the maintenance of the said William.

Writ to the escheator in co. Cambridge to enquire whether a messuage and 12 a. land in Saham, which the said William held in right of Margaret, his wife, were seized into the hands of Edward III and are still in the king’s hand on account of a felony for which William was outlawed, (as appears by a certificate of the Exchequer sent into Chancery), or for some other cause, and whether William is now dead, and if so, when he died, and of whom and by what service the premises are held, and what estate Margaret has therein; as the said Margaret has claimed restitution thereof. 8 May, 2 Richard II.
CAMBRIDGE. Inq. taken at Newmarket, Tuesday after St. Barnabas, 2 Richard II.
The premises mentioned in the writ were held in right of the said Margaret, and were seized and are still in the king’s hand for the above cause. The messuage and 10 a. of the land are held of John Gernon, knight, by service of rendering 2s. yearly and doing suit twice a year to the said John’s court in Wykes. The remaining 2 a. are held of the duke of Lancaster by service of rendering 8d. yearly and doing suit twice a year to the duke’s court in Saham.
The said William died on 20 December, 48 Edward III.
Henry Porter held the premises jointly with the said Margaret, then his wife, to them and his heirs. On his death the premises came to the hands of Margaret, who held them thus for 2 years and then married the said William.

He held the under-mentioned messuage etc. in his demesne.
Orewelle. A messuage, a site of land with a house, and 1 r. land, to which messuage and land the advowson of the church of the town pertains; tenure not known.
He died on 10 September, 48 Edward III. Beatrice, his sister, wife of Robert Turk, knight, aged 30 years and more, is his heir.
Since his death the said Robert and Beatrice have occupied the premises and received the issues thereof, by what title the jurors know not.

MIDDLESEX. Inq. taken at Westminster in the parish of St. Clement Danes without the bar of the New Temple, London, 24 January, 2 Richard II.
She held the under-mentioned messuage etc. for life by demise and grant of William ate Crosse, clerk, made with the king’s licence. The reversion belongs to the heirs of the said John de Lancastreshire.
Parish of St. Clement Danes. A messuage and 3 shops, held of the king in chief by fealty and a rent of 18d. yearly at Michaelmas.
She died on 27 August last without heir of herself. John Crokey, aged 26 years and more, is kinsman and next heir of John Lancastreshire, to wit, son of Alice his sister.

ISLE OF WIGHT. Inq. taken ex officio at Chellerton, 20 March, 2 Richard II, before John Sampson, king’s escheator and feodary.
She held the under-mentioned manor of Chellerton as her whole allowance of dower of all the lands etc. in the island late of her said husband by assignment of Thomas Tirell, knight, general attorney of Ingelram Councy, late earl of Bedford, and Isabel, his wife, then lady of the island.
She held the under-mentioned marsh etc. in Blakepanne in augmentation of her dower aforesaid.
Chellerton. The manor (extent given), held as of the honor of the castle of Caresburgh, which is in the king’s hand by the forfeiture of the said Ingelram, by knight’s service. The extent includes a meadow called ‘Aisshemede.’
Blakepanne. 20 a. marsh and pasture, 8s. 11 3/4d. rent of free tenants and 1 1/2 lbs pepper.
She died on 8 April last. John, son of the said John de Lisle, who will be 13 years of age on the feast of the Assumption next, is her heir.

She held the under-mentioned manor in joint feoffment with the said John, her late husband.
Shorewell. The manor (extent given), held of the king, as of the honor of the castle of Caresbrouk, by knight’s service. The extent includes a several pasture on ‘la Rigge’ and pasture in common for 300 sheep on the hill of ‘Shorterigge’ and ‘Brianesheth.’

Writ of Mandamus, 6 December, 2 Richard II
NORTHAMPTON. Inq. taken at Rothewell, 23 March, 2 Richard II.
He held the under-mentioned messuages etc. in demesne and in service.
Little Goudon (sic), Arthynworth, Dyngele, Farndon and Little Oxinden. 3 messuages, 10 tofts, 11 virgates of land and 10s. rent, held of Edward late prince of Wales, as of the honor of Berkhamsted, by knight’s service.
He died on the feast of St. Giles, 43 Edward III. Thomas Maureward, knight, his son, aged 21 years and more, is his heir.
The prince occupied two-thirds of the premises by the death of the said William and by reason of the minority of Thomas, his son and heir, and received the issues thereof until by his letters patent he sold the same, together with the marriage of Thomas, to Elizabeth late the wife of William for 100 marks, to hold until the lawful age of Thomas. The same Elizabeth occupied the other third part and received the issues thereof, and still does, by way of dower, by assignment of the prince. So she now occupies the whole of the premises and receives the issues thereof.

She held the under-mentioned manor in joint feoffment with the said John, her late husband, to wit, to them and the heirs of John.
Cratele. The manor, held in chief by knight’s service of the heir of the earl of Hereford.
She died on 20 April last. Maud wife of Henry Grene, knight, aged 24 years and more, is kinswoman and next heir both of her and of the said John, to wit, daughter of Thomas Mauduyt, their son and heir.

She held the under-mentioned manor of Wermenstre and messuage etc. in Westbury in joint feoffment with the said John, her late husband, to wit, to them and the heirs of their bodies, by a fine levied in the king’s court.
She held the under-mentioned third part of a moiety of the manor of Dicherich for life by way of dower, by endowment of her said husband, the reversion belonging to her husband’s right heirs.
Wermenstre. The manor, held of the king in chief by knight’s service.
Westbury. A messuage, 2 carucates of land, 20 a. meadow, 100 a. wood and 100s. rent, with the advowson of the chapel, similarly held.

Great Hallyngbery. The manor (extent given, including a park of 202 1/2 a.), with the advowson of the church of Hallyngbery, held of the king in chief as parcel of the barony of Ry.
Great Bromleye. A moiety of the manor (extent given), with the advowson of a mediety of the church alternately with Anne de Leyre, held of the earl of Oxford by knight’s service.

Hokeryng, Buxton and Swanton Morle. The manors (extents given), with the advowsons of the churches of Hokeryng and Swanton Morle, held of the king in chief by homage and fealty and the service of rendering 6l. 15s. yearly for ward of Norwich castle for a whole barony. The extent of Hokeryng includes a park and a leet held about the feast of the Purification, day not known; that of Swanton a park, a rent called ‘Fylestene’ payable at Michaelmas and a leet held about the feast of the Annunciation, day not known; and that of Buxton a leet held on the feast of St. Matthias. The churches of Hokeryng and Swanton are stated to be of the yearly value of 10l. and 50 marks respectively.

GLOUCESTER. Inq. taken at Newent, Monday after Holy Trinity, 2 Richard II.
He held the under-mentioned part of a manor in his demesne as of fee.
Dymmok. A third part of two-thirds of the manor (extent given), held of the king in chief by service of a share (propartis) of 1d. yearly.
He died on Sunday in the first week of Lent, 2 Richard II. Roger Northwode, his son, aged 24 years and more, is his heir.

KENT. Inq. taken at Sydyngbourne, Wednesday after St. George, 2 Richard II.
He was seised in his demesne as of fee of the under-mentioned manor of Northwodeshepeye, rent of 9l. 6s. 8d. in Shorne, Harryettesham and Wychelyng, and rent and reversion of rent in Derteford and elsewhere.
He died seised of the reversion of the under-mentioned manor of Bradherst, which Richard de Blore holds for the term of 20 years (of which the fifteenth is now beginning) by demise of Roger son of Roger de Northwode, knight, deceased, his brother, at a rent of 13s. 4d. yearly; and of the said rent of 13s. 4d.
He held the under-mentioned manors of Bynggebery, Thornham and Northwodechasteners jointly with Joan, his wife, who is still living, for the term of their lives, by grant of Richard ate Lese, knight, Roger Dygg, William Vaus, William Frogenhale, Stephen … Thomas Wadekok, Robert Taillour, Thomas Thyford and Henry Wantesesse, with reversion to the said feoffors and their heirs.
He died seised of the reversion of the under-mentioned rent of 100s. in Hariettesham and messuage etc. called ‘Goreston’ which Richard de Blore holds for life of his inheritance by demise of Roger de Northwode, knight, his father, whose heir he was.
He was seised of the reversion of the under-mentioned manors of Shorne, Hariettesham Yoke, Wychelyngh and Horton by Canterbury, which Agnes late the wife of Roger de Northwode, knight, his father, holds for life in dower of his inheritance.
He died seised of the reversion of the under-mentioned manor of Beauysfeld, whereof two-thirds is held for life by William Sutton by a grant which he made to the said William long before his death, [and the remaining third part is held in dower for life, of his inheritance, by Margaret late the wife of John Barry (?), knight, by endowment of Roger son of Roger de Northwode, sometime her husband.
Northwodeshepeye. The manor, held of the king, as of his manor of Myddelton, by service of a twentieth part of a knight’s fee and payment to the said manor of Myddelton of a yearly rent of 60s. 2d. and a wey (waya) of cheese.
Shorne, Haryettesham and Wychelyng. 9l. 6s. 8d. yearly rent from lands of ‘gavelkendes’ tenure which are held for life by Agnes late the wife of Roger Northwode, knight, his father, of his inheritance. The lands in Haryettesham and Wychelyng are held of the abbot of St. Augustine, Canterbury, of his court of Leanham, by fealty, suit of court every three weeks and other services; and those in Shorne of the prior and convent of Christ Church, Canterbury, of their court of Holyngbourne, by fealty, suit of court every three weeks, a rent, and divers other services, amount not known.
Derteforde and elsewhere. A third part of two-thirds of 46l. 6s. 3 1/4d. rent of assise, together with the reversion of a third part of a third part of the said rent which Elizabeth late the wife of Thomas Gronsoun, knight, holds for life of his inheritance. The entire rent is held of the king in chief by fealty and payment of a rateable proportion of 1d. yearly.
Bradherst. The manor, held of the archbishop of Canterbury in ‘gavelkendes,’ to wit, by fealty, suit of court to the archbishop’s manor of Gillyngham every three weeks, and service of 6d. yearly.
Bynggebery, Thornham and Northwodechasteners. The manors; whereof the first two are held of the heir of the lord le Say by knight’s service, to wit, by homage, fealty and service of one knight’s fee, and the third is held of the prior and brethren of the hospital of St. Bartholomew by Rochester by fealty and service of 40s. yearly.
Hariettesham. 100s. rent, parcel of the manor, and a messuage and 14a. land and pasture called ‘Goreston’ in the Isle of Shepeye. The said manor is held of the king, as below.
Shorne, Hariettesham, Yoke, Wychelyngh and Horton by Canterbury. The manors (except the 100s. rent last mentioned); whereof the manor of Shorne is held of the king in chief by homage and fealty and service of one knight’s fee, the manor of Heryettesham is held of the king, as of the honor of Peverel, by homage and fealty and service of a third part of a knight’s fee, the manor of Wychelyngh is held of the king, as of the honor of Peverel, by homage and fealty and service of one knight’s fee, the manor of Yoke is held of the king, as of the honor of Ledys, by homage and fealty and service of a fourth part of a knight’s fee, and the manor of Horton is held of Sir Thomas de Ros of Hammelak, as of his manor of Chilham, by homage and fealty and service of a fifteenth part of a knight’s fee.
Beauysfeld. The manor, held of the abbot of St. Augustine, Canterbury, by homage and fealty.
He died on 27 February last. Roger de Northwode, his son, aged 23 years and more, is his heir to all the premises held by knight’s service; and the same Roger, William (aged 18 years and more) and James …, are his sons and heirs to the premises held in ‘gavelekendes.’

LEICESTER. Inq. taken at Leycestre, Thursday after All Saints, 3 Richard II.
She held the under-mentioned lands etc. in Kerby etc. for life in dower, of the inheritance of Simon, son and heir of her said husband, a minor in the king’s wardship.
She held the under-mentioned lands etc. in Hukklescote etc. for life jointly with her said husband, by a fine levied in the king’s court.
Kerby, Wygyngeston, Barton and Odeston. Divers lands etc.; whereof those in Kerby are held of the king in chief by knight’s service, those in Wygyngeston are held of the earl of Oxford, those in Barton are held of the earl of Pembroke, and those in Odeston are held of William de Chetewynd.
Hukklescote, Whitewyk, Donyngton under Bruere and Stanton under Berdon. Divers lands etc.; whereof those in Stanton are held of the prior of Charle and the remainder are held of the heirs of the lord de Beaumond as of the manor of Loughteburgh.
She died on Thursday the feast of St. Martin, 2 Richard II. Simon, her son by her said husband, is her heir, and will be 5 years of age at the feast of the Annunciation next.

LINCOLN. Inq. taken at Spridlyngton, Wednesday before St. Dunstan, 2 Richard II.
The under-mentioned messuage and land were taken into the hand of Edward III and are still in the present king’s hand by reason of the idiotcy of the said John.
[Frysthorp]. A messuage and a moiety of half a bovate of land, held of Richard de Stokys, clerk, by service of 6d. yearly.
The said John died on Tuesday before St. Hilary, 1 Richard II. Robert son of Robert Paty, his brother, (age not specified), is his heir.

The said John held the under-mentioned messuage etc. in his demesne as of fee.
Sulgrave. A messuage and 11 a. land and meadow, held of the alien prior of St. Andrew’s, Norhampton, by service of rendering 23d. and 1 lb. cummin yearly.
He died on Wednesday after the Purification, 44 Edward III, and on his death the premises were taken into the said king’s hand by reason of the minority of Thomas, his son and heir, and are now in the present king’s hand. The said Thomas assumed the habit of religion in 1 Richard II, and in the following year was professed in the order of Augustinian Friars of Norhampton. Hugh Payn, aged 50 years and more, is uncle and next heir of the said Thomas. Every year since John’s death Edward III and the present king have received the issues and profits of the premises at the Exchequer by the hands of the escheators.

The said John (who is kinsman and heir of Emery son of Grimbald Paunsfot, to wit, son of Hugh Paunsfot, deceased, the son of the said Emery), is said to be a minor, to wit, 12 years old and more, in the wardship of Philippa, countess of March. He holds of Richard Talbot, son and heir of John Talbot of Richard’s Castle, knight, a minor in the king’s wardship, a moiety of a knight’s fee in Wyttone, (which fee is held by Thomas de Bello Campo, earl of Warwick), as appears by the pourparty assigned in the Chancery in 2 Edward II to Joan wife of Thomas de Bykenore, eldest daughter and co-heir of Hugh de Mortus Mari of Richard’s Castle, and great-grandmother of the said Richard Talbot, who is her heir. By reason of the said tenure the marriage of the said John Paunsfot pertains to the king as his prerogative.

On the death of the said Richard the reversion descended to Richard Salkeld, who is still living, as his kinsman and heir, to wit, son of John de Salkeld his son.

He died seised of the first of the under-mentioned eighth parts of the said manor jointly with the said Joan, his wife, to them and the heirs of their bodies, by gift of John de Raghton made with the king’s licence.
He died seised of the second of the under-mentioned eighth parts of the said manor jointly with the said Joan, his wife, to them and the heirs of their bodies, by gift of Margery and Alice, daughters and heirs of William Bouche.
Ulvisby. A third part of a moiety of the manor, held of the king in chief by service of rendering at the Exchequer of Carlisle 6s. 2 3/4d. for cornage and 8s. 9d. for the king’s socage of Carlisle; an eighth part of the manor, held of the king in chief by service of rendering at the said Exchequer 2s. 8d. for cornage and 3s. 9d. for the said socage; and a second eighth part of the manor, held of the king in chief by the last-mentioned service.

Jhesmouth. A third part of the manor, with 52 a. land, 2 a. meadow and 6 a. wood, held in joint feoffment with Jacoba, his wife, by gift of William de Kellawe and Thomas Catour, chaplain, as below. The premises are held of the king in chief by service of a third part of 6s. 8d. payable yearly by the hands of the sheriff for ward of the castle of Newcastle aforesaid.

He held the under-mentioned in his demesne as of fee tail, to him and the heirs male of his body, by gift and grant of Edward III.
Faxflete. The manor (extent given), tenure not stated. The extent includes 7 carucates of land in demesne, whereof 4 3/4 carucates can be sown every year if well cultivated, and each carucate is then worth 40s. yearly over and above the expense of repairing the dikes of Hombre and the sewers and drains there.
He died on 15 August last. Heir not known, because he was born in the parts of Scotland.

John de Stryvelyn, knight, was seised in his demesne as of fee, jointly with Jacoba, his wife, of 5 1/2 messuages in ‘Galougate’ held of the king in free burgage by service of 3d. yearly, a messuage in ‘le Horsmarketgate’ held as above by service of 1/2d., 5 cottages by ‘le Denebrigge’ held as above by service of 2 1/2d., a tenement in ‘Pilgrymstrete’ held as above by service of 1d., a tenement in ‘le Brodechere’ held as above by service of 1/2d., a moiety of a grange and a third part of an oxhouse opposite ‘le Maudeleyns’ held as above by service of 1 1/2d., a rent of 24s. 8d. from a tenement by the gate of the Friars Preachers, a rent of 20d. from a tenement in ‘le Cornmarketgate,’ a rent of 10s. from a tenement on the south side of the churchyard of St. Nicholas, a rent of 15s. from a tenement in the street called ‘le Syde,’ a rent of 20s. from a tenement in ‘le Souterrawe,’ a rent of 5s. from a tenement in the street extending from ‘le Calcros’ to the chapel of All Saints, a rent of 6s. 6d. from a tenement towards the castle, and a rent of 3s. 4d. from a tenement in ‘Pilegrymstrete’ near the Friars Minors.
Moreover, Edward III, by letters patent dated at Langele, 3 November, 13 Edward III, granted to the said John de Stryvelyn and his heirs an annuity of 200 marks out of the issues of the customs in the ports of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Herterpole (to wit, 140 marks in Newcastle and 60 marks in Hertherpole), until provision should be made to them of an equivalent of land and rent in England; and by subsequent letters patent dated at Wodestoke, 20 December, 17 Edward III, granted to him the reversion of (1) the manor of Faxflete, co. York, with the advowson of the chapel thereof, expectant on the demise of Ralph de Nevill, who held the same for life by the king’s grant, and (2) 10 marks of rent in Northdalton, co. York, expectant on the demise of Serle Treganon, who held the same for life by the king’s grant, to hold to him and the heirs male of his body, with reversion to the king and his heirs, in satisfaction of 61l. 13s. 4d. of the said 200 marks. The said Ralph and Serie died during his lifetime, so that the amount now remaining payable to him out of the customs aforesaid is 71l. 13s. 4d., of which he was seised when he died.
He died on 15 August last. John de Midelton, aged 30 years and more, is his heir in tail to the said lands etc. in Newcastle after the death of the aforesaid Jacoba, should she die without heir of her body, to hold to him and Christiana, his wife, and the heirs of their bodies, with successive remainders to the said Christiana and the heirs of her body, to the said John de Midelton and the heirs of his body, to Roger de Wyderyngton and Elizabeth, his wife, and the heirs of their bodies, to William Heron, knight, and the heirs of his body, and to John de Midelton and his heirs, by virtue of a grant of William de Kellow and Sir Thomas Catour, chaplain, dated at Newcastle, Sunday before St. Margaret, 1361. CORNWALL. Inq. taken at Bodmin, Friday before St. Matthew, 2 Richard II.
He died seised in his demesne as of fee of the under-mentioned manor of Bree and lands in Reppery, Trethens etc., Tregeloghen etc., Cariorghel and Rosmoryn.
Reppery. A parcel of land, held of the king in socage, as of the duchy of Cornwall as of the castle of Launceston, by service of 2s. yearly.
Bree. The manor, held of Simon Flymynge, knight, as of his manor of Bratton Chynewelle, co. Devon, which manor was held by the said Simon of the duchy of Cornwall, as of the castle of Launceston, by knight’s service. Simon died, leaving a son and heir Thomas, who is a minor in the king’s wardship. Afterwards the said William Tregos died, leaving a son and heir William, now aged 10 years and more, whom the escheator has taken into the king’s hand as a wardship under a wardship.
Trenthens, Tregos and Tregalese. Lands etc. worth 4l. yearly, held of Richard Sergeaux, knight, as of his manor of Restranget, by knight’s service.
Treneloghen, Trevyas, Chyveran and Trenasawe. Lands etc. worth 60s. yearly, held of John Reskymmer by knight’s service.
Cariorghel. Lands etc. worth 60s. yearly, held of John Lercedekne, knight, in socage.

Penburthy. The reversion of the manor will fall to William, son and heir of the deceased, on the death of Isabel wife of Thomas Burghere, who has a life estate therein.
Bree. A certain Emmeline Hywysh has a life estate in the manor by gift and feoffment of the deceased made 6 years ago, so that the manor is worth nothing to the king during her life.
The said William died on Monday after the Decollation of St. John the Baptist, 50 Edward III.
Since his death Richard Sergeaux, knight, the heir of John Reskymmer, Warin Lercedekne, son and heir of the said John Lercedekne, and John Langelond have occupied, and still occupy, the lands held of them as above, and have taken and still take the profits thereof; the next friend and kinsman of William his son and heir outside the line of inheritance has occupied and taken the profits of Reppery; the said Emmeline has occupied and taken the profits of the manor of Bree; and Thomas Burghere, in right of his wife, has occupied and taken the profits of the manor of Penburthy.
The said Richard Sergeaux has mainperned for the safe custody of William, son and heir of the deceased, and to deliver him up at the king’s request.
