Prayers.

Hatfield Level.

ORDERED, That the Cause concerning Hatfield Level be heard, at the Bar of this House, the first Monday of the Meeting of the House after the next Recess: And all Parties concerned to have Notice, that they may attend.

Yorkshire Cloth Trade.

Amendments, sent from the Lords, to the Bill for regulating the Trade of Clothing in the West Riding of Yorkshire, were twice read; and, upon the Second Reading, upon the Question, severally agreed to; and afterwards read the Third time.

Resolved, That the said Amendments, agreed to, be ingrossed, and made Part of the Bill.

And that the Bill, so amended, be returned to the Lords.

Norwich Stuffs.

Amendments, sent from the Lords, to the Bill for regulating the making of Stuffs in Norfolke and Norwich, were twice read.

And the Additions, which, by way of Amendment, are to be added, instead of the Clauses to be left out, between the First and Eighth Skins, were read twice; and, upon the Question, agreed to.

And the said Amendments, by way of Addition, and the other Amendments, being read the Third time.

The Question being put, Whether there shall be any Saving added to the Amendments sent from the Lords;

The House was divided.

The Yeas went out.

And so it was resolved in the Affirmative.

The Question being put, Whether these Words, "if any such be due," shall be Part of the Addition;

It passed in the Negative.

Resolved, upon the Question, That, after the Words "Wardens of the said Trade," in the Ninth Line of the Third Page of the Additions, the Saving following be added; viz.

"Saving to the King's Majesty, his Heirs, and Successors, all such Right of Customs, Subsidies, and Aulnage, of Norfolke and Norwich Stuffs or Worsteds, or any of them, as he might lawfully have claimed before the Making of this Act."

Conference desired.

Resolved, That a Conference be desired to be had with the Lords, upon the Saving on the Behalf of his Majesty, to be added to the Amendments in Paper, sent from the Lords: And that Mr. Coventry do go up to the Lords, to desire the Conference.

Resolved, That, with this Saving on the Behalf of his Majesty, the Amendments, sent from the Lords, to the Bill concerning Norwich Stuffs, be agreed to.

Navy and Ordnance Carriages.

The ingrossed Bill for providing Carriage by Land and by Water, for the Use of his Majesty's Navy and Ordnance, was this Day read the Third time.

Resolved, That the Penalty of Five Pounds as to the Officers, be made Ten Pounds.

Which was done accordingly.

A Proviso, tendered on the Behalf of the Inhabitants of New Forest, was twice read.

The Question being put, To omit the Words "or from;"

It was resolved in the Affirmative.

And the same was done accordingly.

Resolved, That the Words "Six Pence" be made "Four Pence."

Which was done accordingly.

Resolved, That the Proviso, so amended, be agreed to; and made Part of the Bill.

Resolved, That the Bill do pass: And that the Title shall be, An Act for providing Carriage by Water, for the Use of his Majesty's Navy and Ordnance.

Ordered, That Mr. Coventry do carry up this Bill to the Lords, and desire their Concurrence thereunto; and also to put them in mind of the Bill concerning Sheriffs; and the Bill for the Highways; and desire them to give Dispatch to those Bills.

And then the House adjourned till Three of the Clock in the Afternoon.

Ecclesiastical Records.

WHEREAS Mr. Crouch, one of the Members of this House, did acquaint this House, That, in pursuance of their Order, they had received from Mr. Nye, divers Presentations, Books of Institutions, and other Records and Writings, concerning Ecclesiastical Livings; and now desired the Directions of this House, how he should dispose thereof;

Ordered, That Mr. Crouch do deliver all the Presentations, Books of Institutions, and other Records and Writings, concerning Ecclesiastical Livings, which, by Order of this House, he received from Mr. Nye, into the Hands of the Most Reverend Father in God the Lord Archbishop of Canterbury: Who is desired to take care that the same may be preserved in Perpetuity, for publick Use.

Ordered, That Mr. Michaell Mallett, and Mr. William Ayloffe, do deliver all such Surveys, and other Records and Writings, concerning the Archbishopricks, Bishopricks, and Deans and Chapters, which are in their Hands, unto the Most Reverend Father in God the Lord Archbishop of Canterbury: Who is desired to take care for the Preservation thereof; and to dispose of the same to the respective Bishops, Deans, and Chapters, who are therein concerned, if he shall think fit.

Ordered, That these Votes be printed and published, that all Persons concerned may take notice thereof.

Confirming Acts.

Ordered, That the Committee appointed to prepare Reasons for disagreeing to the Amendments to the Bill for confirming Three Acts, do make their Report To-morrow Morning; with their Opinion, what they think fit to be done upon the said Bill.

Advowsons, &c.

Ordered, That the Amendments to the Bill for Advowsons be read, in the first Place, To-morrow Morning.

Ly. Wandesford's Estate.

Ordered, That the Lady Wandesford's Bill be proceeded in on Thursday Morning.

Customs.

Ordered, That Mr. Clifford do make Report concerning the Fees due to the Officers of his Majesty's Customs and Subsidies, To-morrow in the Afternoon, the first Business.

Public Accomptants.

Ordered, That the Amendments to the Bill for bringing Persons to Accompt be read To-morrow Morning.

Navy and Ordnance Carriages, &c.

Mr. Coventry reports, That he had attended the Lords, and delivered the Bill for his Majesty's Carriage; and had desired a Conference upon the Amendments to the Bill for Norwich Stuffs; concerning which the Lords declared, That they would send an Answer by Messengers of their own.

Bedford Level.

The House then resumed the Debate of the Bill for the Great Level of the Fens, called Bedford Level.

And that Part of the Amendment, relating to the Judicatory between the Participants, being read the Second time;

The Question being put, That it be provided by the Bill, That Mr. Chichley be continued in the Possession of all his Part or Proportion of the Great Level of the Fens, called Bedford Level, subject to such Judicature, as by the Bill shall be appointed.

It was resolved in the Affirmative.

And then the House proceeded to read the Amendment relating to the Judicatory, by Paragraphs.

And the First Paragraph being read;

Resolved, upon the Question, That this House doth agree to the said Paragraph.

The Second Paragraph was read.

And the Question being put, That this House doth agree to the said Paragraph;

It was resolved in the Affirmative.

Upon the Debate whereof;

Resolved, That Sir Thomas Littleton, Serjeant Charlton, Mr. Attorney of the Duchy, Mr. Steward, Mr. Buller, Sir Robert Howard, Sir Edmond Pooley, and Sir Richard Onslow, or any Three of them, do consider of the Powers of the said Judicature; and do enlarge the same according to the present Debate: To which Purpose they are to meet To-morrow Morning, at Seven of the Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber.
