The Chaplain.

RESOLVED, upon the Question, by the Commons assembled in Parliament, That Mr. Henry Carpenter, the Chaplain of this House, for his good Services, be recommended from this House to his Majesty's special Grace and Favour, to be preferred to some Dignity in the Church.

Resolved, upon the Question, That Mr. Speaker, Mr. John Ashburnham, Mr. Henry Coventry, and Colonel Legg, do wait upon the King's Majesty; and present these Desires of the House to him.

Lady Wentworth's Nat.

An ingrossed Bill sent from the Lords, for the Naturalizing of Philadelphia Wife of the Right honourable Thomas Lord Wentworth, was this Day read the First time.

Resolved, upon the Question, That this Bill be read the Second time To-morrow Morning.

Marq. of Winchester's Estate.

An ingrossed Bill to confirm the Estate of John Marquis of Winchester, in certain Manors and Lands, whereof the Writings were burnt and lost, was this Day read the Third time.

Resolved, upon the Question, That the said Bill, sent down from the Lords, be agreed to.

Resolved, That the Title of the said Bill, being intituled, An Act for confirming the Estate of John Marquis of Winchester, in certain Manors and Lands, whereof the Writings were burnt and lost at the Taking of the Castle of Bazing, be agreed to: And that the Bill be returned back to the Lords.

And Sir Solomon Swale is to carry it up.

Tindall's Estate.

An ingrossed Bill for settling certain Lands belonging unto Francis Tindall Gentleman, upon Trustees, to be sold for Payment of Debts, was this Day read the Third time.

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill do pass: And that the Title shall be, An Act for settling certain Lands belonging unto Francis Tindall Gentleman, upon Trustees, to be sold for Payment of his Debts.

And Sir Solomon Swale is to carry up this Bill to the Lords for their Concurrence.

Bp. of London's Estate.

An ingrossed Bill, sent from the Lords, to enable the Bishop of London to lease out the Tenements new-built upon the Scite of his Palace in London, was this Day read the First time.

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill be read the Second time on Thursday next.

A Bill for the more speedy bringing of Person to Accompt, whose Accompts were excepted in the Act of Oblivion, was this Day read the First time.

Duty on Iron.

The Question being put, That the House, according to the Order made Yesterday, do resume the Debate of the Matter upon the Report of the Committee to which the Petition of several Persons, who now are, or formerly were, experienced in the making of English Iron, was committed;

It passed in the Negative.

Difference between Members.

Ordered, That the Difference between Mr. Marvell and Mr. Clifford, Two Members of this House, be referred to Mr. Speaker, to examine; and, to that End, to hear Mr. Scott, another Member of this House, who was present when this Difference did happen; and to mediate and reconcile the same between them if he can; or else to report it to the House, with his Opinion therein.

London, &c. Streets.

Sir Robert Howard reports from the Committee to which the Bill for repairing and maintaining the Streets and Highways in and near the Cities of London and Westminster, and Parts adjacent, several Amendments to the said Bill, which he read, with the Coherence, in the Bill; and after, delivered in the same, at the Clerk's Table.

And the Amendments being read twice; and some Alterations, upon the Question, agreed to be made thereto; and being made accordingly; and a Proviso touching the removing of Nuisances, being, by Direction of the House, brought in; and twice read; and agreed to; and the other Amendments being, upon the Question, agreed to;

Resolved, upon the Question, That the said Bill, with the Amendments and Provisoes agreed to, be ingrossed.
