Coppleston's Estate.

AN ingrossed Bill to enable John Coppleston Esquire to sell Lands for Payment of his Debts, and providing for his younger Children, was this Day read the Third time.

The Question being put, That the said Bill shall pass;

The House was divided:

The Yeas went forth.

So it passed in the Negative.

Barnesley's Estate.

Ordered, That the Knights, Citizens, and Burgesses, for the County of Hereford, be added to the Committee to which Mr. Barnesley's Bill is committed.

Knollis' Estate.

An ingrossed Bill to enable Thomas Knollis Esquire to sell the Manor of Bowcomb, for Payment of the Debts of Sir Henry Knollys, his Elder Brother, and for raising Portions for his younger Children, was this Day read the Third time.

Resolved, upon the Question, That the said Bill do pass: And that the Title of the said Bill shall be, An Act to enable Thomas Knollis Esquire to sell the Manor of Bowcomb, for Payment of the Debts of Sir Henry Knollys, his elder Brother, and for raising Portions for his younger Children.

And Sir John Duncomb is to carry up the said Bill to the Lords.

Rivers' Estate.

An ingrossed Bill to enable Mrs. Clemence Rivers and Mrs. Rose Rivers to sell certain Lands and Houses, for Payment of the Debts of Edward Rivers Esquire, deceased, and . . provide for his younger Children, was this Day read the Third time.

Resolved, upon the Question, That the said Bill do pass: And that the Title thereof shall be, An Act to enable Mrs. Clemence Rivers, and Mrs. Rose Rivers, to sell certain Lands and Houses, for Payment of the Debts of Edward Rivers Esquire, and Provision for his younger Children.

And Sir John Duncomb is to carry up the said Bill to the Lords.

Mr. Speaker, The Lords have commanded us to bring you down Two Bills: The one intituled, An Act to confirm the Sale of certain Lands, sold by Ferdinando late Earl of Huntingdon, for the Payment of his own and his Father's Debts; to which they desire your Concurrence: And the other intituled, An Act concerning Matters of Assurance used amongst Merchants; with some Amendments; to which they also desire your Concurrence.

Powell's Estate.

And they have also commanded us to inform you, That they have consented to the Amendments which you have made to the Bill for making void certain Fines, unduly procured to be levied by Sir Edward Powell and his Lady.

Skinners.

Ordered, That the Bill for the Regulation and Encouragement of such as lawfully use the Trade of Handicraft Skinners, be read the First Bill To-morrow Morning.

Dalison's Estate.

Sir Thomas Meres reports from the Committee to which the Bill to enable Sir Robert Dalison to sell Lands for Payment of his Debts, was committed; several Amendments to the said Bill: Which he read, with the Coherence, in his Place; and after delivered them in at the Clerk's Table: And the same being twice read, were, upon the Question, severally agreed to.

Resolved, upon the Question, That the said Bill, with the Amendments so agreed to, be ingrossed.

Navigable Rivers.

A Bill for clearing the Passage by Water from London to Bristol, and also to Salisbury, and from thence to fall into the Sea at Christ Church, and from Yarmouth to Yorke, was this Day read the Second time.

Resolved, That the said Bill be committed to Colonel Windham, Mr. Fane, Colonel Reames, Sir Robert Atkyns, Sir Wm. Lowther, Sir Allan Apsley, Mr. Knight, Sir Cha. Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Sir Robert Atkyns have the Leave of this House to go into the Country.

Earl of Derby's Estate.

Upon Information, that, in the Case of the Earl of Derby, upon his Bill, sent from the Lords, to restore him to certain Manors in Flintshire, there was a Fine levied; and it was so admitted, by his Council, at the Committee to which the Bill is referred; but the same is not taken Notice of in the Bill;

Ordered, That the Parties concerned therein, shall be heard at the Bar of this House: And the Committee to whom the Bill was committed, are to forbear any further Proceedings therein: And, when the Parties are ready for Hearing, the House, being moved, will appoint a Day for the Hearing thereof.

Chambers, &c. Estate.

Ordered, That the Bill for Chambers, and others, to receive Two thousand Six hundred and Ninety Pounds out of the Estate of Mr. Hutchinson, be read To-morrow Morning.

Packing Butter.

A Bill for reforming of Abuses committed in the Weight and false Packing of Butter, was this Day read the First time.

Resolved, That the same be read again on Monday Morning next.

Excise Revenue.

Resolved, That the House do resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to take into Consideration the Advance of the Excise to Four hundred thousand Pounds a Year.

Mr. Serjeant Maynard took the Chair of the Committee.

Mr. Speaker again took the Chair.

And Serjeant Maynard made Report, That the Committee of the whole House had made some Progress in the Debate of the Advance of the Excise; and desired this House might again resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, on Monday next, to proceed in the further Debate thereof.

Resolved, That this House do resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, on Monday next, to proceed in the further Debate of the Advance of the Excise to Four hundred thousand Pounds a Year.
