Prayers.

Supply Bill.

THE ingrossed Bill, for raising Eighteen Months Assessment, at Seventy thousand Pounds Per Month, for Supply of his Majesty's present Occasions, was this Day read the Third time.

Resolved, upon the Question, That this Bill do pass: And that the Title shall be, An Act for granting unto the King's Majesty Twelve hundred and Threescore thousand Pounds, to be assessed and levied by an Assessment of Threescore and Ten thousand Pounds by the Month, for Eighteen Months.

And Mr. Serjeant Charleton is to carry up the said Bill to the Lords: And to put the Lords in mind of the Bill of Uniformity; the Bill against Quakers; the Bill for regulating Corporations, and the Bill for Printing.

Powell's Estate.

The House, according to the last Order, then taking into Consideration the Matter upon the Bill for avoiding the Fines levied by Sir Edward Powell, and his Lady;

The Counsel of the Lady Crooke, and others, who were for the Passing of the Bill, stated their Case.

And the Counsel of Mr. Chute, and Mr. Skinner, Two Purchasers, likewise stated their Case; and offered divers Reasons why the Bill should not pass.

And Mr. Scrogs, of Counsel with Mr. Levingston, and his Wife, offered to state their Case.

Resolved, upon the Question, That the further Hearing and Debate of this Business, upon the Bill to make void the Fines levied by Sir Edward Powell, and his Lady, be adjourned; and resumed into Consideration the First Monday of the Meeting of this House after this Recess.

And the House then adjourned till Three of the Clock in the Afternoon.

Confirming Ministers.

THE House then resuming the Debate of the Bill for confirming the Act for Ministers;

A Proviso, on the Behalf of John Moreton Clerk, was read twice.

The Question being put, To insert "the 26th of June 1662," instead of "Six Kalendar Months," in the Proviso;

It was resolved in the Affirmative.

Resolved further, upon the Question, That the said Proviso, so amended, be made Part of the Bill.

Another Proviso, for Confirmation of Institutions granted Sir William Merrick, was twice read.

The Question being put, For passing this Proviso, and making it Part of the Bill;

It passed in the Negative.

A Proviso, on the Behalf of such sequestered Persons whose Rents were received by Sequestrators, was twice read.

And the Question being put, That this Proviso be made Part of the Bill;

It passed in the Negative.

A Proviso, for Dilapidation, being read once, was, upon the Question, also laid aside.

And the Question being then put, Whether Leave shall be given to speak against the Order of the House, for taking the rest of the Provisoes brought in, into Consideration;

It was resolved in the Affirmative.

The Question being put, Whether the main Question, for laying aside all the rest of the Provisoes to the Bill for confirming the Act for Ministers, shall be now put;

It was resolved in the Affirmative.

The main Question being put, That the rest of the Provisoes brought into the Bill for confirming the Act for Ministers, be laid aside;

The House was divided.
