Prayers.

Supply Bill.

ORDERED, That the several Persons hereafter named be added as Commissioners for the County of Brecon, in the Bill for the Levying of the Eighteen Months Assessment; viz. Thomas Bowen Esquire, Edward Games, Esquire, William Lloyd of Llangamaick, Jeffery Jefferies of Lliwell, Henry William of Llangatteek, William Bowen, junior, John Morgan of Widnalt, Howell Powell, Gentlemen.

Somersett Dukedom.

An ingrossed Bill for confirming an Act for restoring the Marquis of Hertford to the Dukedom of Somersett, was this Day read the Third time.

Resolved, upon the Question, That the said Bill do pass: And that the Title shall be, An Act for restoring of the Marquis of Hertford to the Dukedom of Somersett.

Ordered, That the Lord Herbert do carry the Bills for confirming an Act for restoring the Earl of Arundell to the Dukedom of Norfolke; the Bill for confirming an Act for restoring the Marquis of Hertford to the Dukedom of Somersett; and the Bill to enable Mr. Anthony Eltricke to sell Lands, for Payment of his Debts; up to the Lords, for their Concurrence.

Conference with Lords.

Ordered, That the Lord Herbert do also carry up the Message to the Lords, for a Conference, upon the Second Amendment, sent down, to the Bill for confirming certain private Acts.

Hatfield Level.

A Bill, sent from the Lords, for settling certain drained Grounds within the Level of Hartfeild Chace, and Parts adjacent, within the Counties of Yorke, Lincolne, and Nottingham, was this Day read the First time.

Resolved, That this Bill be read again, the Second time, on Wednesday next.

Ordered, That a Petition brought in by Sir Charles Hussy be read on Monday Morning.

Thomas' Drainage.

A Bill, sent from the Lords, for settling certain Fen Lands, drained by Sir Anthony Thomas, was this Day read the First time.

Ordered, That this Bill be read again, when Mr. Speaker shall be pleased to appoint.

Committee of Privileges.

Ordered, That the Report of Serjeant Charleton, from the Committee of Privileges and Elections, be heard on Monday Morning next.

Confirming Ministers.

The House then resumed the Debate upon the rest of the Amendments to the Bill for confirming the Act for Ministers.

And the Fourteenth Proviso being twice read:

And the Question being put, To agree with the Committee in that Proviso;

It passed in the Negative: And

Resolved, That the same be laid aside.

The Fifteenth Proviso was also twice read:

And an Addition was tendered to be added to the said Proviso: Which was also twice read: And

Resolved, upon the Question, That the same be laid aside.

Message delivered to Lords.

Lord Herbert reports from the Lords, That, according to the Order of this House, he had delivered the Three Bills to the Lords: And had also acquainted the Lords, that this House desired a Conference upon the Second Amendment to the Bill for Confirming of private Acts: And that the Lords had agreed to a present Conference in the Painted Chamber.

Whereupon the Persons appointed, accompanied with several other Members of this House, did attend the said Conference.

Mr. Solicitor reports from the Conference, That they had acquainted the Lords, that this House had agreed to the First and Third Amendment; and that the Second (being an Addition), coming in Paper, was not regular: And that the Lords had agreed to take it into Consideration.

Confirming Ministers.

The House did again resume the Debate upon the Bill for confirming the Act for Ministers.

And a Proviso touching Mr. Honywood, was twice read: and, upon the Question, agreed to.

A Proviso on the Behalf of the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge was twice read.

And some Debate arising upon the Precedency of the University of Oxford before Cambridge:

And the Proviso being put to the Question;

The House was divided.

The Ayes went out.

And the Noes, that staid in, finding themselves apparently much out-numbered, yielded:

And so it was resolved in the Affirmative; That the Proviso be agreed to, and made Part of the Bill.

And several other Provisoes being tendered to be added to the Bill;

Resolved, That no more Provisoes be received, but what are already brought in: And that the House do sit on Monday in the Afternoon, to take the Provisoes, brought in, into Consideration.

Leave to attend Lords.

Resolved, upon the Question, That Mr. Solicitor General and Mr. Goodrick have the Leave of this House to attend the Lords; and to be of Counsel with the Earl of Derby, in the Case depending before them, wherein the said Earl is concerned.

Ordered, That Sir John Prettyman have the Leave of this House to attend, and give his Testimony in the House of Lords, on the Behalf of Sir Henry Frederick Thynn.

Privilege- a Person discharged.

Mr. John Cressett (who, upon Information of a Breach of Privilege against Sir Soloman Swale, a Member of this House, was, by Order of the House, committed, and taken into Custody by the Serjeant at Arms) being this Day brought to the Bar of this House;

Resolved, upon the Question, That the said Mr. Cresselt be discharged out of the Custody of the Serjeant at Arms; paying his Fees.

And then the House adjourned till Monday Morning next, at Eight of the Clock.
