Prayers.

Brecon Election.

ORDERED, That Walter Vaughan Esquire, late Sheriff of the County of Brecon, who was summoned to attend, touching some Miscarriage alleged to have been in the last Election of a Knight for the said County, be discharged of further Attendance, paying his Fees.

Bengeworth Bridge.

A Bill for Repair of Bengeworth Bridge, in the County of Worcester, was this Day read the Second time.

Resolved, upon the Question, That the said Bill be committed to Colonel Gilby, Sir Lancelott Lake, Sir Thomas Leigh, Mr. Streete, Colonel Legg, Sir Robert Brooke, Mr. Scudamore, Dr. Arris, Sir William Doyley, Mr. Prynn, Mr Tompkins, Mr. Reames, Sir Thomas Allen, Mr. Heath, Sir John Shaw, Mr. Walden, Mr. William Sandys, Mr. Rigby, Mr. Churchill, and all the Members of this House, that serve for the Counties of Worcester, Hereford, and Shropshire: And they are to meet at Two of the Clock, this Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber: And to send for Persons, Papers, Witnesses, and Records.

Executing Regicides.

A Bill for executing certain Persons which are attainted for High Treason, was this Day read the First time.

Resolved, upon the Question, That this Bill be read again the Second time on Monday Morning next, at Ten of the Clock, when the House is full: And that such of the Persons attainted, named in the Bill, as are now in the Tower, do then appear, and have Liberty to offer what they can for themselves. And Sir John Robinson, Lieutenant of the Tower, is to give Notice hereof to the Persons before-mentioned; and to cause them to be brought on Monday, at Ten of the Clock, to attend this House.

Ordered, That the King's Majesty be desired to send for John Lambert and Sir Henry Vane, back again to the Tower of London, in order to their Trial: And that his Majesty be further desired to send for Hardress Waller, lately called Sir Hardress Waller, and such other Persons attainted of High Treason, as were lately sent away, back again to the Tower; to the end they may be in Readiness to attend this House, when they shall be called: And Sir Richard Everard, Mr. Tompkins, Sir Thomas Leigh, Colonel Legg, Sir George Ryve, Sir Solomon Swale, Mr. John Ashburnham, Mr. Winston Churchill, Mr. Henry Seymour, Mr. Prynn, are to attend his Majesty from this House, with this Message.

Brecon Writ.

Serjeant Charleton reports from the Committee of Privileges and Elections, as to the Business in suppressing the Writ for Election of a Knight for the County of Brecon, That the Clerk of the Crown did, on the 14th of August last, receive Mr. Speaker's Warrant for issuing of the said Writ by the Hands of Colonel Jefferyes to whom he delivered the said Writ the next Day, being the 15th of August last: And that the said Writ is now delivered to the Sheriff; and the Election is to be on Wednesday next.

Delivery of Writs.

Ordered, That, for the future, when any Writ shall be delivered for a new Election of any Member to serve in Parliament, the Party that doth receive the Writ shall deliver or cause the same forthwith to be sent and delivered to the proper Officer of the Place, for which the Election is to be made.

Sheriffs Accompts

A Bill for the preventing the unnecessary Charge of Sheriffs, and for Ease in passing their Accompts, was this Day read the First time.

Resolved, That this Bill be read again, the Second time on Tuesday Morning next.

Ways and Means.

And then the House resolved itself into a Grand Committee of the whole House, to proceed upon the Vote made Yesterday for the Twelve hundred thousand Pounds, to be raised for the Supply of his Majesty's present Occasions.

And Serjeant Charleton made Report to the House, That the Committee of the whole House had voted, That the Sum of Twelve hundred thousand Pounds, voted as a Supply for his Majesty's present Occasions, shall be raised by way of a monthly Assessment at the Rate of Seventy thousand Pounds a Month, upon all Lands, Tenements, Offices, Rents, Hereditaments, and personal Estates: And that the Committee desired the House might again resolve itself into a Grand Committee To-morrow, at Ten of the Clock, to proceed upon the Debate of the Proportions.

Resolved, That this House do To-morrow, at Ten of the Clock, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to proceed in the said Debate.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, at Eight of the Clock.
