Prayers.

Naturalization.

ORDERED, That the Committee for Naturalization be and is hereby revived; and that they sit on Monday in the Afternoon, at Two of the Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber.

A Person ordered into Custody.

Sir Walter Earle reports from the Committee for Privileges, the Opinion of that Committee, that the House be moved to send for Joseph Cranford, in safe Custody, by the Serjeant at Arms.

Ordered, That Joseph Cranford be sent for, in Custody, by the Serjeant at Arms attending this House.

Carter's Lease.

The humble Petition of Sir John Carter, a Member of this House; setting forth, that he, being ancient Tenant to the Dean and Chapter of Winchester, for the Impropriation of Gresford in the County of Denbigh, and purchased the Reversion of the Glebe thereof; and having applied himself to the said Dean and Chapter to renew his Lease; and having his Majesty's gracious Letters of Recommendation for that Purpose; yet they refuse to treat with him; and praying the Direction of this House, to the said Dean and Chapter, to admit him to renew his Lease upon reasonable and usual Terms; was humbly presented to this House.

Ordered, That the said Petition be referred to the Commissioners appointed by his Majesty to treat with Purchasers of Deans and Chapters Lands, to do Right to the Petitioner: And the House doth specially recommend him to their Respect, in the Matter prayed: And the said Commissioners are desired, in this Case, to give their Order or Advice to the said Dean and Chapter, to forbear making of any Lease or Contract of the Impropriation of Gresford, or the Glebes thereof, to any other Person.

Sales.

Ordered, That the Grand Committee upon the Bill of Sales do report the Amendments to the said Bill, on Thursday Morning next.

Hodgkin's, &c. Nat.

Ordered, That the Names of Elizabeth Hodgkin and * Gillinger be inserted into the Bill for Naturalization.

Cursing and Swearing.

Mr. Bampfeild reports Amendments to the Bill against Cursing and Swearing: Which he, standing in his Place, read, with the Coherence; and the same were after twice read by the Clerk; and, upon the Question, agreed unto.

Ordered, That the said Bill, so amended, be ingrossed.

Micklethwaite's Estate.

Ordered, That the Bill for Mr. John Micklethwaite, be read on Monday Morning next.

Ecclesiastical Affairs.

Ordered, That Sir Thomas Wharton, Sir Geo. Northcott, Mr. Harris, Mr. Bampfield, Sir Walter Erle, Mr. Rigby, Mr. Shapcott, Mr. Yong, Mr. Henly, Mr. Peckham, Mr. Shawe, Sir Edw. Deering, Mr. Titus, Mr. Bascawen, Serjeant Rainsford, Mr. Crowch, Dr. Cleyton, Sir Edw. Turner, Sir Edm. Boyer, Mr. Charlton, be added to the Committee for bringing in the Bill upon the King's Majesty's Declaration touching a Settlement in the Church.

Attainder of Oliver Cromwell, &c.

Mr. Thomas reports from the Committee to whom the Bill for Attainder is referred, the Evidence given against the respective Persons in the said Bill.

Ordered, That this Business be re-committed upon the former Order; and that the Committee be revived, and do sit on Monday in the Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber.

Lees' Petition.

The humble Petition of Eleaner Lee and Anne Lee, Infants, Daughters and Coheirs of Sir Henry Lee Baronet, and Dame Anne Lee his Wife, deceased, by Anne Countess of Rochester, their Grandmother and Guardian, was tendered to this House.

Ordered, That this Petition be referred to the said Committee to whom the Bill for Attainder is referred: And the said Committee are hereby fully impowered to receive all Petitions of like Nature; and to hear all Parties concerned, and Witnesses in the respective Cases; and to consider thereof; and state Matter of Fact thereupon; and report the same to this House within Six Days.

Ordered, That the Petition of Sir Henry Norton, eldest Son of Sir Gregory Norton, be referred to the said Committee to whom the Act for Attainder is referred; to examine the Matter of Fact, and state the same; and report it to this House.

Ordered, That the Petition of Sir James Harrington be also referred to the said Committee to whom the Bill for Attainder is referred; to examine the Matter of Fact, and state the same; and report it to this House.

Privilege.

Ordered, That the Committee of Privileges do forbear to proceed in the Business concerning Sir Hugh Owen and Sir John Robinson, formerly referred unto them, until Thursday next.

Poll Bill.

Ordered, That Sir John Robinson, and Sir John Fredericke, do give Intimation to the Lord Mayor, this Afternoon, that this House doth take notice of the great Neglect of the City of London in collecting of the Money upon the Poll Bill, and upon the Acts of Assessment, in the several and respective Wards; and that they speedily collect and pay in the same: And Sir John Robinson is to report their Answer, and Proceedings therein, on Monday Morning next.

Earl of Cleveland's Estate.

A Message from the Lords, by Mr. Glascock and Mr. * *, Two Masters of the Chancery;

Mr. Speaker, we are commanded by the Lords to attend you with a Bill which is intituled, An Act for the settling of all the Manors and Lands of the Earl of Cleveland, in Trustees, to be sold for the satisfying of the Debts of the said Earl, and of Thomas Lord Wentworth his Son: To which the Lords desire the Concurrence of this House.

Ordered, That the Bill for the settling of all the Manors and Lands of the Earl of Cleveland, in Trustees, to be sold for the satisfying the Debts of the said Earl, and of Thomas Lord Wentworth, be read on Tuesday Morning next.

Privilege- Libellous Publication.

Mr. Secretary Morris acquaints this House with a dangerous Book, published in Print, intituled, The Long Parliament Revived; and that he had found out the Author thereof, one Drake, who acknowledged that he writ the same: And that he is at the Door.

The said Drake, being at the Door, was called in; and being at the Bar, the said Book, intituled, The Long Parliament Revived, &c. being shewed unto him, he confesseth that he was the Penner of this Book; and that it was his own Action.

Resolved, That William Drake do stand committed to the Serjeant at Arms attending this House.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee for Privileges, to read over the said Book, intituled, The Long Parliament Revived; to examine the Matter of Fact; to state the material Points that are offensive in this Book; and to report it to the House.
