The King's Speech.
THE House being met; Mr. Speaker, with the House, went to attend his Majesty at Christ Church.
Mr. Speaker reports, That fearing he might do his Majesty an Injury, if he should trust his Memory to repeat what he had delivered to both Houses, he had obtained the Favour from his Majesty to have his Speech in Writing.
Which Mr. Speaker having read;
Thanks for Speech.
Resolved, &c. That the humble and hearty Thanks of this House be returned to his Majesty, for his Care and Conduct in the Preservation of his People, and the Honour of this Nation: And that this House will assist his Majesty with their Lives and Fortunes against the Dutch, or any others that shall assist them, in Opposition to his Majesty.
Resolved, &c. That the humble Thanks of this House be also returned to his Majesty, for the Care he hath had of the Person of his Royal Highness the Duke of Yorke.
Resolved, &c. That a Message be sent to the Lords, for their Concurrence to these Votes: And that Sir Thomas Thompkins do go up to the Lords to desire their Concurrence.
The King's Speech to be considered.
Resolved, &c. That the Matter of the King's Majesty's Speech, and Supply, be taken into Consideration, the first Business, To-morrow Morning.
And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Eight of the Clock.
