Tuesday, February 7th, 1659.

Army Commissions.

Mr. Speaker, according to former Order of the House, did, before the Sitting of the House, deliver the Commissions following; viz.

To Dr. Clargis, his Commission to be CommissaryGeneral of the Musters in England and Scotland:

To Captain Jeremiah Hand, his Commission to be Captain of a Company in Colonel Fitche's Regiment.

Prayers.

Army Appointments.

ORDERED, That the Commission heretofore given unto Mr. Robotham, to be Chaplain to the Regiment late of Colonel Sydenham's, now Colonel Lenthall's Regiment, be, and is hereby declared to be, void and null: And that Colonel Lenthall do present the Name of some other worthy Person to be Chaplain of his said Regiment.

Resolved, That (a) Daniel Sneaton doth approve of Daniel Sneaton to be Surgeon to this Regiment.

Resolved, That Roger Payne be, and is hereby approved of to be, Quarter-master of that Regiment.

Resolved, That it be referred to the Commissioners for the Army, to consider of Ensign Gold, and Ensign Carey: And that they be re-committed.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do, according to former Order, deliver Commissions to the Officers of the Regiment of Colonel Lenthall.

Scotch Great Seal.

A Bill for the Great Seal of Scotland was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, passed.

Irish Great Seal.

A Bill for the Great Seal of Ireland was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, passed.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Council of State, to take care, and give Order, That the Great Seals of Scotland and Ireland be forthwith made and paid for.

Sequestering Estates.

A Bill ingrossed, intituled, An additional Act for Sequestrations was this Day read the Third time.

Resolved, That Richard Barton Esquire be one of the Treasurers in this Bill.

Resolved, That the Blank, in the Bill, touching the Commissioners taking the Oath by a Time to be appointed, be filled up without a Time to be appointed.

And the said Bill, so amended, being put to the Question, passed.

Ordered, That this Act be forthwith printed and published.

Proceedings against Members.

Ordered, That the Parliament do, on Friday Morning next, take into Consideration the Cases of the Members of Parliament, against whom some Matters have been objected, the first Business; nothing to intervene.

Persons to attend.

Resolved, That Sir John Norcott be sent for in safe Custody by the Serjeant at Arms attending the Parliament.

Resolved, That Sir Copleston Bampfield be sent for, in safe Custody, by the Serjeant at Arms attending the Parliament.

Resolved, That Sir Wm. Courtney be sent for, in safe Custody, by the Serjeant at Arms attending the Parliament.

Ordered, That the Committee for plundered Ministers be, and are hereby, impowered and required to send for * *, the Minister of Barstable in the County of Devon, and examine him, touching the Information given against him, in influencing the People against the Parliament; and state Matter of Fact; and report it to the House.

Resolved, That Sir Richard Temple be sent for, in safe Custody, by the Serjeant at Arms attending the Parliament.

Resolved, That Mr. Henry Chester be sent for, in safe Custody, by the Serjeant at Arms attending the Parliament.

Resolved, That Mr. George Faunt, Sheriff of the County of Leicester, be sent for in safe Custody, by the Serjeant at Arms attending the Parliament.

The Question being propounded, That Mr. Benson, Sheriff of the County of Northampton, be sent for, in safe Custody;

And the Question being put, That that Question be now put;

It passed with the Negative.

Ordered, That Robert Warcupp Esquire be, and is hereby, nominated and appointed the Counsel for the Commonwealth, touching Sequestrations, before the Commissioners at Haberdashers-Hall, or elsewhere.
