Moulyn's, &c. Nat.
A BILL for Naturalizing of Lewis De Moulyn, Gyles Dury, Peter Blondeau, Adam de Cardonell, Stephen Hammon, Henry Limbrey, James Tandin, Lewis Marshall, Didier Fancaut, Adryan Poust, alias Adrian Vander Poust, John De Bourgougne, alias Lambermount, Joseph Cressett, Peregrine Cressett, Rupert Nye, Judith Nye, Wm. Bridgman, Joakim Hane, Libert Bassenge, Mary Barington, Elizabeth Asteley, Edward Asteley, Charles Hales, Peter Barre, Christian Eylers, Gustavus Myles Fleetwood, George William Fleetwood, Adolphus Jacobus Fleetwood, Prudence Van Acker, now the Wife of James Butler, Nicholas Van Acker, John Archer, was this Day read the Third time.
A Clause was tendered to the said Bill, to be added next after the Word "France," in the 20th Line of the 1st Press of the Bill, in these Words; viz. "Younger Brother of Lodowick De Bourgougne, already naturalized by a former Act of this present Parliament; both which Lodowick and John are the Sons of the late deceased John De Bourgougne, commonly surnamed, otherwise, Lambermount and Joane Richier, his Wife, Grandchildren of Henry de Bourgougne, sometimes Lord of Lambermount, Mayor of Villenord, and Margarett Elizabeth de Bromback, his second Wife; which Henry was Son to Theodoricus de Burgougne of Harlaer Amervall, and to Jaqueline de Royen, all of the Netherlands;" was this Day read the First time; and, upon the Question, ordered to be read the Second time.
And was read the Second time, accordingly: And being read the Third time, was, upon the Question, ordered to be added, as Part of the Bill.
Resolved, That, in the Bill, next after these Words, "Richard Limbrey of," the Words "in the County of Devon" be omitted; and these Words inserted, viz "the City of Exeter."
Resolved, That John Focaut, and Elizabeth his Wife, be added next after these Words, "Dideor Faucout Apothecary, born in Loraine, the Son of."
Resolved, That the Word "Merchant" be omitted; and that the Word "Gentleman" be inserted, instead thereof, next after the Words, "Nicholas Van Aker of London."
Resolved, That Charles Hales, the Son of Edward Hales, do stand in this Bill.
Resolved, That Elizabeth Astley, and Edward Astley, do stand in the Bill.
And the Bill was, upon the Question, passed.
Resolved, That his Highness the Lord Protector's Consent be desired to this Bill.
Ordered, That Sir William Lockhart be added to the Committee for Naturalization.
Whaley's, &c. Estates.
Sir William Strickland reports Amendments to the Bill for settling Henry Whaley, and Erasmus Smyth, in Lands fallen to them by Lot in Ireland: Which were Twice read; and, upon the Question, assented unto.
Mr. Downing tenders an additional Clause to the said Bill: Which was read the First and Second time.
Resolved, That the Blank in this Clause be filled up with the Word "Four."
And the said Clause, so amended, was, upon the Question, assented unto.
Ordered, That this Bill, so amended, be ingrossed.
Newport Minister.
A Bill for Raising of Maintenance for a Minister in Newport, in the Isle of Wight, was this Day read the First time; and, upon the Question, ordered to be read the Second time, on Friday next.
Exeter Ministers.
A Bill for the Promoting, and more frequent Preaching, of the Gospel, and Maintenance of Ministers, in the City of Exeter, and uniting of Parishes and Parish-Churches within the said City of Exeter, was this Day read the First time; and, upon the Question, ordered to be read the Second time on Wednesday Morning next.
London Poor.
The House being informed, that Alderman Viner, and other Citizens of London, were at the Door, they were called in: And, being come to the Bar, Alderman Vyner informed the House, that the Corporation for setting the Poor on Work in the City of London, had commanded him, and the rest, to present their humble Petition: And therewith presented a Petition to the House; Which, after the Petitioners were withdrawn, was read; and was intituled, "The humble Petition of the President and Governors of the Corporation for the Poor of the City of London."
Resolved, That this Petition be referred to a Committee, to prepare a Bill, according as is desired; and offer it to the House.
Ordered, That this be referred to the Committee for Trade.
Brokage.
Ordered, That the Point now in Debate, touching Brokage, be referred to the same Committee, to consider of some Expedient for the Redress of the Grievance therein.
Ordered, That it be referred to the Consideration of the same Committee, how poor Children in the Country may be likewise provided for.
Petition from London.
Ordered, That the Committee, to whom the Petition of the Lord Mayor, Aldermen, and Commons of London, was referred, have Power to send for Persons, Papers, Witnesses, Records.
Probate of Wills.
Mr. Lister reports Amendments to the Bill for Probate of Wills, and granting Administrations: Which were Twice read; and, upon the Question, re-committed to the same Committee: To meet To-morrow, at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber.
Ordered, That Mr. Solicitor-General, Mr. AttorneyGeneral, Colonel Mathewes, and all the Gentlemen of the Long Robe, be added to this Committee.
Ordered, That it be referred to the same Committee, to bring in a Clause for a Register to be in the Borough of Southwark, for the said Borough, and the Lines of Communication on that Side of the River.
Scotch Affairs.
Ordered, That Sir Wm. Lockhart and Colonel Markham be added to the Committee for the Affairs of Scotland.
E. of Derbie's Estate.
Ordered, That Mr. Throckmorton, Mr. Windham, Mr. Stapley, Mr. Shirley, be added to the Committee for the Earl of Derbie's Bill.
Rodney's Petition.
Ordered, That the Report from the Committee, to whom the Petition of George Rodney was referred, be made on Wednesday next.
Grant to Gen. Monck.
Ordered, That the Bill for General Monck be read the Second time on Tuesday Morning next.
Civil Law.
Ordered, That the Report upon the Petition of the Doctors of the Civil Law, and of the University of Oxford, be made this Day Sevennight.
