Punishment of Nayler.
MR. Speaker acquaints the House, He hath received a Petition on the Behalf of James Nayler: Which was read, and was intituled, "The humble Petition of the Persons, whose Names are underwritten:" Whose Names were * * * *
Resolved, That the further Punishment of James Naylor, which should have been on this Day, shall be suspended until this Day Sevennight; and executed on him then: And, that the Sheriffs of London and Middlesex do observe this Order accordingly, notwithstanding the former Warrant.
Ordered, That Mr. Caryll, Mr. Manton, Mr. Nye, Dr. Reynolds, and Mr. Griffith, or any of them, be desired to confer with James Naylor, between this and this Day Sevennight.
Ld. Cobham's Estate.
A Bill to enable Sir John Brooke, alias Cobham, to levy a Fine upon his Lands, was this Day read the Third time.
According to former Order, the Counsel on both Sides, were heard at the Bar upon this Bill; the Parties being present.
Mr. Finch, and others, for the Lord Brook.
The Case was debated on both Sides: And then they withdrew.
The Question being put, That this Bill, intituled, An Act to enable Sir John Brook, alias Cobham, to levy a Fine of his Lands, do pass;
It passed in the Negative.
Resolved, That this Bill be rejected.
Spanish War.
Resolved, That the Business of Money, for carrying on the Spanish War be taken into Consideration on Tuesday and Thursday in every Week.
Call of the House.
Resolved, That the House be called on Wednesday Sevennight.
Noble's Petition.
The humble Petition of James Noble was this Day read.
Resolved, That James Noble be released of his Imprisonment and further Punishment.
Leave of Absence.
Ordered, That Major Burton have Leave to go into the Country.
Col. Owen's Burial.
Ordered, That the Committee of Ely-house do issue out Five Pounds for the Burial of Lieutenant-Colonel Owen.
