Army Committee, &c.
COLONEL Downes reports from the Committee of the Army, A Bill for Continuance of the Committee of the Army and Treasurers at War.
Which was this Day read the First and Second time.
And the Question being put, That this Bill be Committed;
It passed with the Negative.
And the Question being put, That this Bill be Ingrossed;
It passed with the Negative.
And the said Bill, being put to the Question, passed: And it is ordered to be forthwith printed and published.
Ordered, That Mr. Herbert be added to the Committee of the Army.
Garland's, &c. Petition.
The humble Petition of Augustine Garland, a Member of Parliament; and Thomas Mathew, Citizen of London, was this Day read.
Impresting Soldiers.
Mr. West reports, Amendments to the Act for the Impresting of Soldiers for the Service of this Commonwealth in Ireland: Which were this Day read, and agreed: And, after some Amendments at the Table,
The Question being put, That the Act be ingrossed;
It passed with the Negative.
And the said Act, so amended, being put to the Question, passed: And
It is Ordered, That the said Act be forthwith printed and published.
Late King's Property.
Mr. Garland reports Amendments to the additional Act for Sale of the Goods of the late King, Queen, and Prince: Which were this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, assented unto.
Resolved, That the Time for the Discovery of the Goods be made "the First of June 1651," instead of "the First of May 1651."
Resolved, That these Words be added in the Thirteenth Line of the First Sheet of the said Bill; viz. "not formerly made known to the said Trustees."
Resolved, That the Goods of the Children of the late King be also comprised within this Act.
A Clause was tendered to be added to this Bill, in these Words; viz. "And be it further Enacted and Declared, That the Goods or Personal Estate of or belonging to any Child or Children of the late King and Queen, be and are hereby declared and adjudged to be, within the Intent and Meaning of this, and the said recited Act, to all Intents and Purposes, as if the same had been particularly named therein:" Which was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, assented unto, and ordered to be Part of the Bill.
Resolved, That this Bill so amended be ingrossed.
Ordered, That it be referred to the same Committee to whom the former Information touching the Contractors for Sale of the late King's Goods, was referred, to examine the Information now given in, under the Hand of William Thomas, against the said Contractors: With Power to send for Persons and Papers; and to report the same to the House on This-day-sevennight.
Ordered, That Mr. Robinson, Mr. Ralegh, Mr. Hill, Mr. Lechmere, Mr. Smyth, Mr. Oldesworth, Mr. Nevill, Mr. Gurdon, Mr. Hallowes, Sir Gilbert Pickering, Sir John Hippesley, Mr. Love, be added to this Committee: And that the List, touching the late King's Servants, be referred to the same Committee, to examine it according to the Rules of the Act.
And the particular Care hereof is referred to Mr. Robinson, and Mr. Richard Darley.
Tythes, &c.
Ordered, That the Act for Continuance of an additional Ordinance for the true Payment of Tythes, and other Duties, be reported on Wednesday Morning next.
Commissioners of Assessment.
A Letter to be sent to the Commissioners for the Assessment of the One hundred and Twenty thousand Pounds by the Month, was this Day read; and upon the Question, assented unto: And
It is Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do sign the said Letters, to be sent unto the several and respective Counties, as formerly.
Resolved, That Francis Astley, Richard Edwards, Bulstrode Whitelock, one of the Lords Commissioners of the Great Seal, John Harvey, Edward Cater, John Cockaine, John Haselden, Samuel Bedford, Richard Wagstaff, Henry Whitebread, and Edward Osborne, be added Commissioners for the Monthly Assessment for the County of Bedfoed.
Resolved, That John Spencer be added a Commission for the Monthly Assessment, for the Town of Bedford.
Resolved, That Henry Whitebread, and William Grove, of Bucks, be added Commissioners for the Monthly Assessment for the County of Bucks.
Earl of Downe's Fine.
Ordered, That these Words; viz. "with Interest according to Rule," be inserted in the Order made Yesterday, touching the Remainder of the Fine of the Earl of Downe; the Four thousand Pounds to be paid according to the former Order; and putting in Security for Payment of the Interest within a Month, the Sequestration to be discharged.
Resolved, That, upon Payment of the Four thousand Pounds, being the Remainder of the Fine of the Earl of Downe, according to the Order made the Seventeenth of this Month; and Security given to the Commissioners for Compounding, for the Payment, within One Month now next coming, of the Interest for the said Four thousand Pounds, according to Rule; the same be admitted and accepted by the said Commissioners: And that, upon such Payment and Security, the said Commissioners do proceed, as if the same had been done at the same time when the said Fine should have been paid.
Composition Payment.
Resolved, That the Commissioners for Compounding be authorized and required to accept and admit of the Money due for the Composition for the Sale of Lands of the Lady Anne Somersett, to Colonel Hutchinson, with Interest for the same, according to Rule, notwithstanding the Time elapsed; and, upon present Payment thereof, to proceed therein, as if the same had been paid at the time wherein it should have been paid.
Correspondence with Holland.
Mr. Bond reports from the Council of State, A Letter from the Lords Ambassadors from the Hague, dated 1/2 1/1 of April 1651; with a Paper inclosed, from the States General.
Which were this Day read.
Issues for Stores.
Resolved, That the Twenty thousand Pounds, by Order of Parliament of the First of April 1651, charged upon the Receipt of Goldsmiths Hall; and the Ten thousand Pounds more, charged by that Order upon the Receipt of Haberdashers Hall, for Supply of the Stores; be paid by Warrant from the Council of State; and to such Person and Persons as the Council of State shall appoint: And that the Commissioners for Compounding do issue their Warrants to the Treasurers of those respective Receipts, to make Payment thereof accordingly, to such Persons as the Council of State shall appoint: Whose Acquittance and Acquittances shall be a sufficient Discharge for the same.
Militia Horses.
The Question being propounded, That it be referred to the Council of State, to take One hundred and Fifty Horse out of the several Militias in the several Counties, which have been raised on those who have been formerly Delinquents, to be employed for Draught Horses, to be sent into Scotland, for the Service of the Army there;

And the Bill, so amended, being put to the Question, passed.
