Prayers.
Parliamentary Records.
MR. Pury reports from the Committee appointed to consider of removing the Records which lie in the Room over this House, and touching the Viewing of the Rooms under this House, the Proceedings of the said Committee therein.
Ordered, by the Parliament, That it be referred to the said Committee, to remove the said Records, and all Lumber, and other things in the said Room, over this House, into the Charter House, Westminster: And the said Committee are hereby authorized and required to remove the same accordingly.
Ordered, by the Parliament, That it be referred to the said Committee, touching the Rooms under this House, to consider what is most fit to be done with them, for the Safety of the Parliament: And the said Committee are hereby impowered and authorized to dispose of the said Rooms, so as may be most for the Safety of the Parliament, accordingly.
Homord reprieved.
Resolved, &c. That William Homord, being condemned at the last Sessions, be reprieved from Execution: And that the Sheriffs of Middlesex, and all others whom it may concern, be required to take notice hereof; and forbear Execution, until further Order from Parliament.
Customs, &c.
Colonel Thompson reports an Act for reforming the Abuses practised by Watermen, and others, about Goods owing Customs.
Which was this Day read the First time; and, upon the Question, ordered to be read the Second time; and was read the Second time accordingly; and, upon the Question committed to the Committee of the Navy.
Colonel Thompson also reports from the Committee of the Navy, the Orders of that Committee, in hæc verba;
The Commissioners of the Customs having this Day presented unto this Committee, an Account of such Monies as have been received in the Port of London, and the Out Ports, from the Time of their first Entrance upon the Management of the Affairs of the Customs, to the Fifth of this instant November, amounting to the Sum of One hundred and Sixty-eight thousand One hundred and Thirty Pounds Three Shillings and Eleven-pence Three Farthings; It is ordered, That the same be reported to the House; and the Parliament be moved to take into Consideration the Settlement of the said Receipts for the future; and to signify their Pleasure, whether they will be at a Certainty with the Commissioners of the Customs, touching the same: Which if the Parliament shall think fit to incline unto, this Committee have some Proposals remaining with them, ready to present from the Commissioners in that Behalf: And Colonel Thompson is desired to report the same.
Ordered, That the Business of the Navy be taken into Consideration This-day-sevennight.
Resolved, That the present Commissioners for the Customs shall have a certain Salary for their Service there, both for the Time past, and to come.
Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of the Navy, to consider of a fitting Salary for the Commissioners of the Customs, for their said Service; and present it to the House.
Fee-farm Rents.
Resolved, That the Committee for the Bill for selling the Fee-farm Rents be revived: And that Sir Arthur Hesilrige, Major Salwey, Alderman Allen, Mr. Attorney, Mr. Long, Mr. Lechmere, and Colonel Harvey, be added to this Committee: And all that come to have Voices: And this Committee are injoined to meet this Afternoon at Two of Clock in the Exchequer Chamber; and so de die in diem; and to make Report thereof on Tuesday next.
Crown Lands.
Ordered, That the Committee for the supplemental Act, for Sale of the Lands of the late King, Queen, and Prince, do make their Report To-morrow-sevennight.
Gospel in Wales.
Ordered, That Colonel Harrison be appointed to bring in an Act, on This-day-sevennight, for the Preaching of the Gospel in Wales.
Army Arrears.
The humble Representation of the Committee for the Accompts of the Soldiery, sitting at Worcester House, was this Day read, touching Potter's List.
Ordered, That the Committee of Goldsmiths Hall be authorized to issue out their Warrant to the Treasurers there, for Payment of the Sum of Five thousand Pounds, Residue of the Eleven thousand Pounds, which was to be paid in to Weavers Hall by the Treasurers of Goldsmiths Hall, in Course, after such Monies as stand now charged for the Use of the Publick, to the Treasurers for maimed Soldiers, to be paid proportionably, according to former Order, unto the several Persons named in Potter's List, except the Sixteen Persons formerly certified, by the Auditors at Worcester House, to the Committee at Goldsmiths Hall; the said Treasurers for maimed Soldiers having respect, in the First place, to those who are most necessitous, and have not sold their Debentures; and likewise examining, and taking care, that none be paid to any whose Debentures have been sold, and allowed at Gurney House to be satisfied out of Deans and Chapters Lands: And likewise deducting, to each of the said Persons, what they have formerly received by way of Pension.
Begging, &c. in Westminster-Hall.
Ordered, That the Provost Marshal be required to apprehend such Persons as shall beg, or behave themselves disorderly and uncivilly, about the Parliament Doors, or Westminster Hall; and carry them before one or more Justice or Justices of the Peace: Who are authorized and required to commit such Persons to Prison, or take care for punishing them, as they shall see Cause: And that the Guards attending the House do give Assistance to the said Marshal and his Servants therein.
