Popham's Claims.

ORDERED, That Mr. Trenchard, Mr. Smith, Sir Thomas Wroth, Mr. Garland, Dr. Palmer, Mr. Burrell, be added to the Committee touching Colonel Popham's Business.

Commissioners of Assessment.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of the Army, to prepare an additional Ordinance, for others to be added for Commissioners for the Assessment of the Ninety thousand Pounds per mensem, in the several Counties: And the Members of the House that are of the several Counties, are to bring in Names to that Committee: And Mr. Pury is to take care hereof; and bring it in with all Speed.

Ordered, That William Wolgar Esquire, and Alexander Wilson Esquire, be Commissioners for the Assessments of the Ninety thousand Pounds per mensem for the Army, for the County of Southampton.

Newman's Petition.

Ordered, That the Petition of Henry Newman, of Chewstoake in the County of Somersett, be read on Saturday next.

Ministers Maintenance.

Mr. Pury reports Amendments to an Act touching Maintenance for Ministers: Which Amendments were twice read.

Resolved, &c. That the Number of the Trustees, to be appointed in this Act, shall be Thirteen.

Resolved, &c. That the Persons, to be named in this said Act for Trustees, shall be such as are not Members of this House.

Resolved, &c. That Sir Henry Holcroft Knight, Sir John Thorougood, of Kensington, Knight; Wm. Steele Esquire, John Coke Esquire, Francis West Lieutenant of the Tower, Henry Danvers Esquire, John Browne Esquire, George Cooper Esquire, Mr. Richard Read, Mr. Richard Young, Wm. Skinner Esquire, Nicholas Marten Esquire, and Mr. John Pocock, be Persons named in the Act for Trustees.

Ordered, That Mr. John Phelps be appointed to be Clerk to the Trustees.

Resolved, &c. That this Bill be committed to Mr. Raynolds, Mr. John Corbett, Mr. Pury, Colonel Rich, Mr. Garland, Sir Arthur Hesilrige, Mr. Scott, Mr. Holland, Mr. Say, Mr. Fielder, Sir Henry Vane; or any Three of them: Who are presently to withdraw.

Ordered, That it be recommended to the Trustees in this Act, to take into their Care the Making of Provision for Mr. Sterry and Mr. Foxley.

Ordered, That Mr. Trenchard do bring in an Act for settling the Provision, formerly ordered to Mr. Dumolyn, and likewise for Mr. Haake, and Mr. Hartlyppe.

Army Arrears.

Ordered, That Colonel Rich be added to the Committee for the Act for stating the Arrears of the Soldiery: And that the Act be brought in on Friday Morning.

Bishops Lands.

Ordered, That Mr. Corbett do make his Report from the Committee for Obstructions in Sale of Bishops Lands, on Friday Morning, the first Business.

Petition from Stafford.

The House being informed, that divers Staffordshire Gentlemen were at the Door, with a Petition;

They were called in: And they presented their Petition:

Which (after the Petitioners were withdrawn) was read; and was intituled, "The humble Petition of divers Wellaffected in the hundred of Totmanstow, called Morelands, in the County of Stafford."

The Petitioners were again called in: And Mr. Speaker, by Command of the House, gave them this Answer;

Gentlemen, The House hath read your Petition; and find you express a great deal of good Affections to this House, and the Proceedings of it: And have been informed, and take notice of the good Service you, and the rest of that Part of the County, have done, and been always ready to do: And they have commanded me to return you Thanks: And I do return you the hearty Thanks of this House, for your good Affections. For the Matters of your Petition, they are of Moment and Importance; and the House will take the same into their serious Consideration in due time, for the Benefit and Advantage of the Commonwealth.

London Petition.

The House being informed, that divers Citizens of London were at the Door;

They were called in; and presented a Petition on the Behalf of Lieutenant Colonel Lilburne.

Westminster, &c. Militia.

Ordered, That the Act for settling the Militia for Westminster, and the Hamlets, be brought in on Saturday Morning, the first Business.

Essex Petition.

The House being informed, that other Petitioners, of the County of Essex, were at the Door;

They were called in; and delivered in a Petition on the Behalf of Lieutenant Colonel Lilburne.

Claims on Publick Faith.

The House being informed, that divers other Petitioners were at the Door;

They were called in; and presented their Petition concerning such as have lent Monies on the Publick Faith.

Cambridge Petition.

The House being informed, that divers Cambridgshire Petitioners were at the Door;

They were called in; and presented a Petition touching many poor People, that are turned out of their Livings.

Lancashire Petition.

The House being informed, that divers Petitioners of Lancashire were at the Door;

They were called in; and presented their Petition.

Walker's, &c. Petition.

The House being informed, that there were other Petitioners at the Door;

They were called in: And Mr. Walker did present a Petition on the Behalf of himself, and of many Hundreds imprisoned for their Faithfulness to the State, against the late King.

Keys College.

Ordered, That Colonel Rich make Report, on Saturday next, touching the Master of Keys College.

Gillingham Petition.

A Petition of divers Freeholders within the Manor of Gillingham in the County of Dorsett was presented by Colonel Ludlow; and received.

Resolved, &c. That the House doth adjourn itself until Friday Morning, Eight of Clock.
