Prayers.

Reprieve of Cheadle.

A LETTER from Colonel Duckenfield, from Chester, the Eleventh of August 1650, touching the Reprieve of Major Richard Cheadle, was this Day read.

The Question being propounded, That Major Richard Cheadle be reprieved for a Month;

And the Question being put, That this Question be now put;

It passed with the Affirmative.

And the main Question being put;

It was Resolved, That Major Richard Cheadle be reprieved for a Month.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do issue forth a Warrant to the Sheriff to forbear Execution accordingly.

Resolved, That both the Judges of the Circuit of North Wales do within One-and-twenty Days now next coming, certify to the Parliament the whole Truth of the Matter of Fact touching the Tryal of Major Richard Cheadle.

Lord Deincourt's Estate.

The humble Petition of Anne Lady Deincourt, her Four unmarried Daughters, and a younger Son, all unprovided for, was this Day read.

The Amendments to the Bill for Sale of the Manors, Lands, Tenements, and Hereditaments of the Lord Deincourt were this Day read the Second time; and, upon the Question, assented unto.

And the said Bill, upon the Question, was ordered to be ingrossed.

Customs.

Ordered, That the Bill touching the late Farmers of the Customs, be read on Tuesday the Tenth of September next.

Delinquents Estates.

Ordered, That the Committee to whom the Act for Sale of Delinquents Estates is referred, do meet this Afternoon; and so de die in diem: And that they bring in the Act on Tuesday Morning next, the first Business; nothing to intervene: With Power to send for the Commissioners at Goldsmiths Hall, and such other Persons as they shall think fit; and to confer with them about the Names of fit Persons to be put into the said Bill, for Sale of their Lands: And the said Persons are injoined to attend the said Committee accordingly.

The Mint.

Ordered, That the Act touching the Mint be read on Wednesday Morning next, the first Business.

Earl of Downe's Estate.

An Act for enabling the Earl of Downe to make Sale of some of his Lands, to the Value of Five hundred Pounds per Annum, to pay his Debts, and Composition for his Delinquency, was this Day read the Second time; and, upon the Question, committed to Colonel Thompson, Sir John Danvers, Mr. John Corbett, Mr. Miles Corbett, Mr. Dove, Sir James Harrington, Mr. Trenchard, Mr. Say, Mr. Stephens, Mr. James Ashe, Mr. Oldsworth, Mr. Masham, Sir John Trevor, Mr. Lenthall, Sir John Hippisley, Mr. Garland, Mr. Holland, Mr. Wallop, Mr. Thomas Challoner, Earl of Salisbury, Mr. Attorney General, Mr. Henry Darley, or any Five of them; to meet this Afternoon in the Exchequer Chamber; and so de die in diem; With Power to send for Persons, Papers, Witnesses, and what else may conduce to the Business.

And the special Care hereof is referred to Mr. Garland.

Sir James Stonehouse.

The humble Petition of Sir James Stonehouse, was this Day read.

Resolved, That it be referred to a Committee, to examine this Business, and state the whole Matter of Fact; and report it to the House: Viz. unto Mr. Attorney General, Mr. Salwey, Mr. Dove, Mr. Say, Mr. Stephens, Mr. Corbett, Mr. Holland, Mr. Bond, Colonel Purefoy, Sir James Harrington, Mr. Lenthall, Sir Wm. Masham, Mr. Rawley, Alderman Atkins, Sir John Danvers, Lieutenant General Ludlow, Mr. Masham, Mr. Challoner, Dr. Palmer, Sir Peter Wentworth, Sir John Hippesley, Mr. Carew, Colonel Fielder, Mr. Haveningham, or any Five of them: And this Committee is to meet To-morrow in the Afternoon at Two of Clock, in the Exchequer Chamber: And the Committee have Power to send for Persons, Papers, Witnesses, Records; and to examine upon Oath.
