Representation and Elections.
THE House, according to former Order, was this Day resolved into a Grand Committee, upon the Heads of a Bill for an equal Representative, and regulating their Elections.
Mr. Speaker left the Chair.
Mr. Say took the Chair.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.
Mr. Say reports from the Grand Committee, That the said Committee hath adjourned till This-day-sevennight; and desire the Leave of the House to sit then.
Resolved, That the House be resolved on This-daysevennight into a Grand Committee, upon the Heads of the said Bill: And that Mr. Speaker do then forbear to take the Chair.
Transactions with Holland.
Mr. Strickland, according to the Order Yesterday, gave the House an Account of his Employment since he was sent, with Mr. Bence, from the House, with the Fleet under the Earl of Warwick; and of his Agency in Holland.
Resolved, That it be referred to the Council of State, to consider of some fit Way to recompense the Charge, and as a Reward for the great and faithful Service, of Mr. Strickland; and to present it to the House.
Resolved, That Mr. Speaker do give the hearty Thanks of this House to Mr. Strickland, for his great and faithful Service to the Parliament, and this Commonwealth.
And Mr. Speaker did give him the hearty Thanks of the House, accordingly.
Leave of Absence.
Resolved, That Mr. Humfrey Salwey have Leave to go into the Country, for His Health.
