PRAYERS.

Crimes at Sea.

AN Act for Punishment of Crimes committed upon or beyond the Sea was this Day read the Third time; and, with some Amendments at the Table, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be printed and published.

Delinquents

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of Indemnity, to examine the Business touching Captain Smith, a Member of this House, and George Hunt, John Hake Deputy to the Under Sheriff, and William Dudley, now in Custody as Delinquents: With Power to discharge them, if they see Cause; or otherwise to report it to the House.

Publick Accompts.

Ordered, That the Act for Accompts of the Commonwealth be read To-morrow Morning.

Redeeming Captives.

Ordered, That the Act for Captives be read the Second time To-morrow Morning.

Ld. Fairfax.

Ordered, That the Act for the Lord General be reported To-morrow, the first Business.

Regulating Printing.

An Act against unlicensed and scandalous Books and Pamphlets, and for better regulating of Printing, was this Day read the Third time. And, some Amendments being made at the Table;

Resolved, &c. That the Time for the Continuance of this Act be until the Twenty-ninth of September, which shall be in the Year of our Lord One thousand Six hundred Fifty-and-one.

A Proviso was tendered, For any Printer or Stationer, that hath or shall print the Bible in any Volume or Volumes whatsoever, shall or may print, in the same Volume or Volumes, a like Number, and no more, of the Psalms in Metre, commonly called the Singing Psalms, as he or they have or shall print Bibles: Which was read the First time.

And the Question being put, That this Proviso be read the Second time;

It passed with the Negative.

And the Act, so amended, being put to the Question, passed; and ordered to be printed and published: And that the Ordinance of the * of September 1647 be likewise printed together with this Act.

Crown Lands.

Ordered, That the Report be made, To-morrow Morning, of the additional Act for Sale of the Lands of the late King, Queen, and Prince.

Miners.

Mr. Garland reports from the Committee for the Miners of Darbisheire, That the said Committee are of Opinion, That the Miners are, and have been at no Prejudice by the Order of Parliament of the Twenty-eighth of March 1649: And that the Question, by Order of the Committee, being put unto both Parties, Whether they would consent to try the Cause in the Upper Bench, by a Jury of Middlesex, or of any other County than Derby, the next Term, or so soon as they could provide for the same; the Earl of Rutland's Counsel accepted of it; but the Miners refused, without the said Order were first revoked, and they put into Possession: Which the Committee think unreasonable.

Ordered, That the said Business touching the Miners in Darbysheire be re-committed, upon the whole Debate: And that the said Committee have Power to consider of the Barmaster; and present their Opinions who is sit to be Barmaster there: And Mr. Robinson is added to that Committee: And all that come to the said Committee are to have Voices: And the Committee are to sit Tomorrow in the Afternoon, in the Exchequer Chamber.
