Die Jovis, 12 Aprilis, 1649.

Carlisle Writ.

ORDERED, That Mr. Speaker do issue out his Warrant to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, to issue forth a Writ for Election of a Burgess for the Town of Carlisle, to serve in this present Parliament, in the Place of Mr. Barwis, deceased.

Mennes' Petition.

Ordered, That, on Saturday next, the Petition of Mrs. Mennes, and the Draught of the Commission to Delegates to hear and determine that Cause, and for a Form for other Causes of the like Nature, be read.

Dean and Chapters Lands.

The House, according to former Order, did this Day resume the Debate upon the Amendments to the Act for Sale of Dean and Chapters Lands.

Ordered, That it be re-committed to the same Committee, to consider of the general, and all the particular Provisoes; and, upon the whole Debate now had in the House, to advise upon the whole Bill, that one Part may consist with the other; to the end the Act may be passed in the best way, for the speediest Raising of Money for the Service of the Commonwealth: And this Committee are to meet at Two of the Clock this Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber: And all that come are to have Voices: And the especial Care hereof is referred to Mr. John Corbett: And that the Act be brought in on Saturday Morning next.

Loan by the City.

Ordered, That Mr. Robert Goodwyn be nominated of the Committee appointed to go into the City this Afternoon, in the place of Sir Henry Vane junior.

Late King's, &c. personal Estate.

An Act for Inventorying, Appraising, Securing, and Sale of the Goods, and personal Estate, of the late King, Queen, and Prince, was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, committed to the former Committee appointed to prepare an Act for Inventorying, Appraising, and Sale of the said Goods: And that Commissary General Ireton be added to that Committee.

Crown Lands.

Ordered, That the Committee who are to consider of some way, How the Parks may be lett for one Year, do meet forthwith: And they are also to consider, How the Deer therein may be disposed of for the best Benefit of the State; and what are fit to be preserved; and report the same to the said House on Monday next: And that any Five of the Committee shall be of the Quorum.

Admiralty.

An Act whereby the Court of Admiralty may proceed to Sentence, notwithstanding Prohibitions to the contrary, was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, committed to Mr. Garland, Mr. Hill, Mr. Marten, Mr. Love, Mr. Attorney General, Colonel Stapley, Mr. Miles Corbett, Mr. John Corbett, Colonel Morley, Mr. Pury, Mr. Challoner: And all that will come are to have Voices: And are to meet To-morrow at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Exchequer Chamber: And Mr. Garland is to have notice.

Ordered, That the Members of this House, named of the Committee appointed to go into the City this Afternoon, be injoined to go into the City this Afternoon accordingly: And the Lords Commissioners of the Great Seal, Sir Peter Wentworth, Colonel Harvey, Sir Wm. Masham, Sir Arthur Hesilrige, Colonel Ven, Mr. Allen, Mr. Gould, Mr. Robert Goodwyn, be added to the said Committee.
