Prayers.

Price of Victuals.

ORDERED, That the Act for abating the Price of Victuals be read To-morrow Morning, the first Business.

Lord Mayor of London.

Alderman Atkins reports, That the City of London hath proceeded to the Election of a Lord Mayor of the said City; and accordingly they have chosen Mr. Alderman Andrewes to be Lord Mayor, in place of the late Lord Mayor of the said City.

The Form of an Oath to be administred to the Lord Mayor of the City of London, was this Day read; and committed to Mr. Whitlock; to consider of the said Oath; and to report it to the House.

Ordered, That the Lord Mayor Elect for the City of London be presented at the Bar of this House To-morrow Morning, for the Approbation of this House.

Letter read.

A Letter from Edward Rebinwan, dated at Preston, 30 March 1649, was this Day read.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Council of State, to take the same into Consideration.

Pictures and Statues.

Ordered, That the Proposition of Captain Myldmay touching the Pictures and Statues, be referred to the Council of State; to take care therein for the Benefit of the Commonwealth.

Lord Mayor's Oath.

Mr. Whitlock reports the Form of an Oath to be administered to the Lord Mayor of the City of London, Which was this Day read the First and Second time, and, with some Alteration at the Table, was, upon the Question, passed; and followeth, in these Words; viz.

The Oath of the Lord Mayor of the City of London.

YOU shall swear, That you shall be true and faithful to the Commonwealth of England; and that you shall well and truly execute the Office of Mayoralty of the City of London, during the Time of your Mayoralty, according to the best of your Skill, Power, and Knowledge. So help you God.

Blackborne Petition.

The Petition of the well-affected Inhabitants of the Hundred of Blackborne in the County of Lancaster, was this Day read.

Ordered, That Mr. Rigby do return the Thanks of this House to the Petitioners, for their faithful Service, and good Affections to the Parliament and Commonwealth.

Ordered, That the said Petition, and the Business therein, be referred to the Consideration of the Council of State.

Dean and Chapters Lands.

The House this Day proceeded to read the Provisoes tendered to the Act for Sale of Dean and Chapters Lands.

The Question being propounded, That the Proviso touching Maintenance for a Preaching Ministry in Winchester, tendered to the said Act, be read the Second time;

The House was divided.
The Yeas went forth.

Mr. Speaker delivered his Vote for the Yeas.
