THE House did this Day take up the Report made by Mr. Humphry Edwards, of the Answer returned by Mr. Pryn, touching his owning the scandalous Pamphlet, intituled, "A brief Memento to the present unparliamentary Juncto touching their present Intentions and Proceedings, to depose and excute Charles Stuart, their lawful King," in these Words following; viz.

"I will give no Answer, until I am commanded by a lawful Authority."

Resolved, &c. That Mr. Pryn, by this Answer that he hath returned by Mr. Humphry Edwards and Mr. Fry, Members of this House, hath disowned the Authority of this House.

Mr. Pryn sent for.

Resolved, &c. That Mr. Pryn be forthwith sent for, in safe Custody, by the Serjeant at Arms attending on this House.

Courts of Justice.

Mr. Lisle reports Amendments to the Ordinance for settling Proceedings in Courts of Justice:

Which Amendments were twice read: And, upon the Question, the said Ordinance was re-committed to the former Committee. And

It is Ordered, That the said Committee have further Power to require and injoin all such Persons as they shall think fit, as well Judges, Serjeants at Law, Counsellors at Law, as any other Officers, to advise and assist therein. And

It is further Ordered, That Mr. Hill, Mr. Whitlock, and Mr. Serjeant Withrington, be in particular injoined to give their Attendance at the said Committee, To-morrow Morning at Eight of Clock: and that the Serjeant at Arms attending this House do give them notice hereof.
