PRAYERS.

Sequestrations.

ORDERED, That Mr. Thomas Scott, of the County of Bucks, be added to the Committee of Lords and Commons for Sequestrations, in the Place of Mr. Recorder, formerly of that Committee.

Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Mr. Squire Bence, and Mr. Boughton, Members of this House, shall have Leave to go into the Country for Six Weeks:

Tonage and Poundage.

Upon Mr. Myles Corbett's Report concerning the Alterations, sent from the Lords, to the Bill of Tonage and Poundage:

It is Resolved, &c. That this House doth adhere to the Ordinance for Tonage and Poundage, as it passed from this House.

Conference desired.

Ordered, That a Conference be desired with the Lords, by Committees of both Houses, so soon as may stand with their Lordships Conveniency, concerning the Ordinance of Tonage and Poundage.

Mr. Prideaux, Sir Henry Vane junior, Mr. Marten, Mr. Myles Corbett, Mr. Selden, Mr. Thorpe, are appointed presently to withdraw; and to prepare Reasons to be given for the Houses adhering to the Ordinance concerning Tonage and Poundage, as it passed from this House; and to manage this Conference.

Sir Walter Erle is appointed to go to the Lords, to desire this Conference.

Commissioners of Customs.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of the Navy, to prepare and bring in an Ordinance, on Monday Morning next, for securing the present Commissioners of Customs all the Moneys advanced, and to be advanced, by them, together with Interest for the same; and for declaring them Commissioners of the Customs, in relation to the Bill of Tonage; removeable notwithstanding, if the Houses shall think fit, at any time, when they shall be first satisfied all Monies advanced, Interest, and Allowances due; according to the Debate now had in the House upon this Business.

Acts to be carried to Lords.

Mr. Selden received, from the Hands of Master Speaker, to carry to the Lords, these Four Bills following;

An Act concerning the raising, settling, and maintaining, Forces by Sea and Land, within the Kingdoms of England and Ireland, and Dominion of Wales, the Isles of Guernsey and Jersey, and the Town of Berwick upon Tweede.

An Act for justifying the Proceedings of Parliament in the late War; and for declaring all Oaths, Declarations, Proclamations, and other Proceedings against it, to be void.

An Act concerning Peers lately made, and hereafter to be made.

An Act concerning the Adjournments of both Houses of Parliament.

He likewise carried to the Lords, for their Concurrence, the Instructions, expressing the Way how the King shall be desired to give his Assent to the aforesaid Bills.

Reports to be made.

Ordered, That the Reports at Goldsmiths Hall be made every Morning, from Tuesday next, until Ten of Clock: And that no other Motion or Business be made or entertained until Ten of Clock.

Goldsmiths Hall Revenue.

Ordered, That it be especially recommended to the Committee at Goldsmiths Hall, to take care, that the Fifty thousand Pounds charged upon the Receipts at Goldsmiths Hall for the Scotts, may be complied with, and paid according to the Time it shall be due.

Ordered, That it be especially referred to the Committee at Goldsmiths Hall, to put in Execution the Ordinances of Assessments for the Scotts, formerly passed both Houses: They are required to take speedy and effectual Course for the due bringing in of the Arrears due upon the said Ordinances.

Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Sir John Curson, a Member of this House, shall have Leave to go into the Country for Six Weeks.

Conference desired.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Edward Leech and Mr. Page;

The Lords desire a Conference, by Committees of both Houses, presently, in the Painted Chamber, concerning the Affairs of the Kingdoms of England and Ireland, if it may stand with the Conveniency of this House.

Answer returned by the same Messengers; That this House has considered their Lordships Message; and do agree to give a present Meeting, at a Conference, as is desired.

Tonage and Poundage.

Ordered, That the Managers of the Conference concerning the Ordinance of Tonage and Poundage, be appointed Reporters of this Conference.

Irish Affairs.

The House being informed, That divers Lords and Gentlemen of the Kingdom of Ireland were at the Door, desiring to prefer a Petition to this House;

They were called in: And Sir Gerard Lowther did, in the Name of divers of the Nobility and Gentry of the Kingdom of Ireland, present a Petition, stiled, "The humble Petition of divers of the Protestant Nobility and Gentry of the Kingdom of Ireland, now attending in and about London."

The which (the Petitioners being withdrawn) was read.

Resolved, &c. That the Business of Ireland be taken into Consideration on Tuesday Morning next, at Ten of Clock, peremptorily: And that no other Business do then intervene, or put this Business out.

Resolved, &c. That the Petitioners shall have the Thanks of this House returned unto them, for their great Care and Piety, expressed in their Petition, to the bleeding Condition of the Kingdom of Ireland.

The Petitioners were again called in: And Mr. Speaker did give them the Thanks of the House accordingly.

Irish Adventurers.

Resolved, &c. That the Time limited for the coming in of Subscriptions, and for Payment of any Sum of Money upon the Ordinance for a Fourth Part of the Adventurers for Lands in Ireland, shall begin from 1 Decembris 1647, being the Time when the said Ordinance was first printed and published.

Ordered, That the said Ordinance be again printed, by Order of both Houses, with the former Vote annexed.
