PRAYERS.

Fellow of Eaton Col.

AN Ordinance, sent from the Lords, for making Mr. John Bacheler Fellow of Eaton College, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed.

Glyn's Commitment respited.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth dispense with Mr. Recorder's going to the Tower for the Space of a Week, for the settling and putting in Order his Papers and Affairs.

Mr. Recorder was, by the Serjeant, brought to the Bar; and, kneeling there, Mr. Speaker pronounced unto him, That the House had discharged him from fitting as a Member in this House; and had adjudged him a Prisoner to the Tower, during their Pleasure.

Warner's Estate.

An Ordinance for Sale of Part of Mr. George Warner's Lands was this Day read the Second time.

A Petition of the said George Warner was likewise read again.

The humble Petition of Jacob Cooke Gentleman, desiring Satisfaction for Damages, out of the Estate of the said George Warner, was now likewise read.

Resolved, &c. That this Ordinance be committed, together with the Two Petitions now read, unto Mr. Swinfen, Sir Arther Hesilrige, Mr. Wheeler, Sir Wm. Strickland, Colonel Purefoy, Colonel Baker, Mr. Knightley, Colonel Boseville, Mr. Lisle, Mr. Scott, Mr. Ball, Sir John Hippisley, Mr. Selden, Mr. Lucas, Mr. Clark, Colonel Liegh, Sir Henry Mildmay, Mr. Smyth, Mr. Lister, Mr. Bois, Mr. Gell, Mr. Darley, Sir Wm. Massam, Mr. George Fenwick, Mr. Whittacre, Mr. Brewster, Colonel Rainsborough, Mr. Ashhurst, Mr. Humfrey Edwards, Mr. Annesley, Mr. Blakiston, Mr. Anlaby: And are to meet this Afternoon at Two of Clock, in the Exchequer Chamber: And have Power to send for Parties, Witnesses, Papers, Records.

The Serjeant is appointed to send one of his Servants to require, from the House, Mr. Copley to attend the Service of the House.

Blasphemous Pamphlet.

Ordered, upon the Question, That the Committee of plundered Ministers shall have Power to examine Biddle, who printed his Book, and all other circumstantial Questions that may lead to find out who was the Printer: And, if he shall refuse to answer, that then, for his Contempt, they do commit him to such Prison as they shall think fit: And that they do appoint Divines to confer with him, and to endeavour to remove him from his blasphemous and dangerous Opinions.

Col. Lilburne.

Ordered, That so soon as Mr. Myles Corbett shall have done his Report, if there shall be Time, Mr. Marten shall make Report of the Business concerning Lieutenant Colonel John Lilburne; if that Report cannot be now made, that then it be made To-morrow Morning the first Business.

Army Accompts.

Ordered, That, To-morrow Morning, the Ordinance formerly read, concerning the stating the Accompts of such Officers and Soldiers as served particular Counties or Association, be again read.

Blasphemous Publications.

Ordered, That on this Day Sevennight, peremptorily, the House do take into Consideration the Business concerning Paul Best, and Biddle.

Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Samuel Clerk Esquire, a Member of this House, shall have Leave to go into the Country.

Ordered, That Anth. Beddingfield Esquire, a Member of this House, shall have Leave to go into the Country.

D. of Buckingham's Sequestration.

A Message from the Lords, by Mr. Page and Mr. Bolles Clerks of the Crown;

The Lords have commanded us to deliver unto you these Orders of the Committee of Lords and Commons for Sequestrations, which are for the Discharging of the Sequestration of the Duke of Buckingham's Estate, with their Lordships Order grounded thereupon; wherein they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Ordered, That this Message be taken into Consideration on this Day Sevennight.

Answer returned by the same Messengers; That this House will send Answer by Messengers of their own.

Impeachment of E. of Suffolk, &c.

Mr. Miles Corbett reports divers Orders and Warrants of the Committee of the Safety, unto which were the Names of divers Lords, Members of the House of Peers.

Resolved, &c. That James Earl of Suffolk be impeached of High Treason, for levying War against the King, Parliament, and Kingdom.

Resolved, &c. That Francis Lord Willoughby of Parham shall be impeached of High Treason for levying War against the King, Parliament, and Kingdom.

Resolved, &c. That John Lord Hunsdon shall be impeached of High Treason, for levying War against the King, Parliament, and Kingdom.

Resolved, &c. That Wm. Lord Maynard shall be impeached of High Treason, for levying War against the King, Parliament, and Kingdom.

Resolved, &c. That Theophilus Earl of Lincoln shall be impeached of High Treason, for levying War against the King, Parliament, and Kingdom.

Resolved, &c. That George Lord Berkeley shall be impeached of High Treason, for levying War against the King, Parliament, and Kingdom.

Resolved, &c. That James Earl of Middlesex shall be impeached of High Treason, for levying War against the King, Parliament, and Kingdom.

Earl of Pembroke.

Resolved, &c. That Mr. Miles Corbett shall this Day Sevennight make Report of the Business concerning the Earl of Pembroke.

Impeachment of Earl of Suffolk, &c.

Ordered, That Sir John Evelyn of Wiltes do, by the Command of this House, at the Bar of the Lords House, in the Name of the Commons of England, impeach the Lords aforesaid; viz. Theophilus Earl of Lincoln, James Earl of Suffolk, James Earl of Middlesex, George Lord Berkley, John Lord Hunsdon, Francis Lord Willoughby of Parham, and William Lord Maynard, of High Treason, for levying War against the King, Parliament, and Kingdom; and desire, that the said Lords may be sequestered from their Service in that House, and committed: And that this House will be ready to bring up their Evidence and particular Proofs against them, and every of them, at such Time as their Lordships appoint.

Ordered, That Mr. Copley do attend the House Tomorrow Morning, and so from time to time, till the House take further Order; notwithstanding his former Order and Pass to go into the Country.

Ordered, That Mr. Miles Corbett do To-morrow make Report of the Business concerning Mr. Copley: And that the Witnesses be here ready.

Ordered, That Sir Robert Harley, Mr. Edward Stephens, and Mr. Gewen, be summoned to be here by this Day Three Weeks, to answer such Matters as shall be objected against them.

Propositions to the King.

A Letter from the Commissioners residing with the King, from Hampton Court, of 8 Septembris, 1647, was this Day read, signifying, that they had Yesterday presented the Propositions to his Majesty.

Bailing Mountague.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth agree with the Lords, in granting the Continuance of Liberty for Three Months longer, upon Bail, unto Walther Mountague Esquire, that he may have the Convenience to intend the Recovery of his Health.

Sir Robert Pye brings Answer, That the Lords will sit awhile, as is desired.

Waiter in Customs.

The humble Petition of Samuell Gosse was read; desiring That he might have the Place conferred upon him of One of the King's Waiters at the Customhouse, become void by the Decease of one Lawrence Newman. And

It is Ordered, That the said Place be conferred upon him accordingly: And that an Ordinance be prepared, and brought in, to pass both Houses, for estating him in the said Place; and for appointing his Majesty's Solicitor to prepare a Bill, containing a Grant of the said Place unto him; and directing the Commissioners of the Great Seal to pass the said Grant, so prepared, under the Great Seal, accordingly.

A Petition of Mr. Edward Walford, a Man employed in many Services of this House, was likewise presented for this Place: And Mr. Speaker is desired to put the House in mind of him, when an Opportunity shall be offered of recompensing his Services.

Comptroller of Customs.

Colonel White reported from the Committee of the Navy, their Opinion touching one George Powell Gentleman, to be a fit Man for the Execution of the Place of Comptroller of the Customs in the Port of Milford cum Membris, void by the Death of Nicholas Squire. And

It is Ordered, That the said Place be conferred upon him: And, that an Ordinance be brought in to that Purpose, directing the Solicitor to prepare a Bill, containing the Grant of the said Place unto him: And the Commissioners of the Great Seal are to pass the said Grant, so prepared, under the Great Seal, accordingly.

Scotts Forces in Ireland.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Members of this House that are of the Committee of both Kingdoms, to prepare Instructions for the Messenger that is appointed to carry the Letter to the Chancellor of Scotland, concerning the Discharging the Scotts Forces in Ireland, according to the Purport and Intention of the Twelfth and Thirteenth Articles of the Treaty, concerning the reducing the Kingdom of Ireland. They have further Power to make a Transcript of the said Letter to the Chancellor of Scotland; and to direct it to the Council of Scotland; and to deliver the said Transcript to the Messenger, to deliver to the Council of Scotland, if Occasion shall be.

Ordered, That To-morrow, after the Debate concerning Lieutenant Colonel Lilbourne, the House do resume the Debate concerning Commissioners to be sent into Scotland.
