Resolved, &c. That this House doth accept of the Sum of Two hundred and Twenty-three Pounds of Thomas Stockton, of Kiddington in the County of Chester, Esquire, for a Fine for his Delinquency: His Offence is, That he voluntarily left his Dwelling, and resided in the Enemies Quarters: He rendered before December 1645: His Estate, in Tail, per Annum, Sixty-seven Pounds; for his Wife's Life, per Annum, Seventy-three Pounds; in Fee, per Annum, Seven Pounds Ten Shillings Six-pence: For which his Fine, at a Tenth, is Two hundred Twenty-three Pounds.

Harrison's Composition.

Upon Mr. Lane's Report from the Committee of the Three Counties, concerning the Composition of Mr. Richard Harrison, made with him by that Committee in January 1644;

It is Resolved, &c. That this House doth accept of the Fine of Eight hundred Pounds of Richard Harrison, for Pardon of his Delinquency, and taking off the Sequestration of his Estate: And that an Ordinance, in usual Form, be prepared and brought in to this Purpose.

Dr. Warner's Sequestration.

An Ordinance for authorizing the Committee at Haberdashers Hall, to whom Dr. Warner is referred, to take off the Sequestration of his Estate, upon his Payment of the First Moiety of such Compositions as shall be there agreed, and for securing the rest, formerly sent from the Lords, was this Day read; and, upon the Question passed.

Army Accompts.

Ordered, &c. That the latter Clause of the Ordinance, passed on Tuesday last, for taking the Accompts of the Soldiery of the Kingdom, concerning the allowing a Peny in the Pound to the Committee, be left out.

Lieut. Gen. of Ordnance.

Ordered, &c. That to the Order, on Tuesday last passed, for restoring the Place of Lieutenant of the Ordnance to Sir Walter Erle, a Clause be added, for appointing the Solicitor to prepare a Grant of the said Place unto him; and for authorizing the Commissioners of the Great Seal to pass the said Grant, so prepared under the Great Seal, accordingly.

Skipwith's Fine.

Ordered, &c. That Mr. Skipwith, of Ketsby in the County of Lincolne, Gentleman, who came in upon the Articles of Hartlebury Castle, be admitted to his Fine at a Tenth, and pass his Ordinance accordingly.

Searcher of Boston.

Upon the Petition of Edmond Allard, &c. and the Report from the Committee of the Navy, concerning one Wilson to be Searcher at Boston;

It is Ordered, That the said Wm. Wilson be hereby nominated and appointed to be Searcher of Boston, with the Members, in the County of Lincolne: And that the Committee of the Navy and Customs do take care, that he be placed in the said Place of Searcher accordingly.

Cotterstock &c. Ministers.

Ordered, &c. That the One hundred Pounds per Annum, allowed upon the Composition of Mr. Robert Kirkham, of Finchead in the County of Northampton, to be assigned for the Maintenance of the Ministers of Cotterstock and Glapthorne, passed in the Ordinance for his Composition, for Maintenance of the Minister of Cutterstock only, be amended in the said Ordinance; and assigned and conveyed for the better Maintenance of the Ministers of Cotterstock and Glapthorne.

Message to Lords.

Colonel Birch carried to the Lords, for their Concurrence, the Ordinance and Instructions for taking the Accompts of the Soldiery of the Kingdom; and the Order for restoring and continuing to Sir Wm. Allenson the Office formerly granted him of Clerk of the Hanaper.

The humble Petition of John Strickland Minister, concerning the Business of the Governorship of the said Hospital of St. Nicholas in the County of Wiltes, was read.

Answer returned by the same Messengers; That this House has considered their Lordships Message: They have taken the Business concerning the Earl of Ancram into Consideration: They do concur in the Ordinance for making of Francis Rivett Esquire Governor of St. Nicholas Hospital in the County of Wiltes.

Ordered, upon the Question, That the Examination of the Matter of Fact concerning the Arrest of Mr. Hugh Hubert, be referred to the Committee where Mr. John Goodwyn hath the Chair; who are to report the said Matter of Fact on Tuesday Morning next.

Incest, &c.

Ordered, &c. That Mr. Serjeant Wilde do, To-morrow Morning, the first Business, report the Ordinance in his Hands, for the Punishing of Incest, Adultery, Fornication, Drunkenness, Swearing and Cursing.

Answer from Lords.

Sir Wm. Lewes reports, That he had delivered to the Lords, the Votes passed on Tuesday last, concerning the Disbanding of divers Regiments of the Army, under the Command of Sir Thomas Fairefaxe: And

Brings Answer, That the Lords do agree to the said Votes: And that they do likewise agree to the Order for restoring the Place of Lieutenant of the Ordnance to Sir Walter Erle.

Apprentices.

An Ordinance concerning Apprentices enjoying their Freedoms and Infranchisements, was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question passed; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.

Invalid Soldiers, &c.

Ordered, &c. That Mr. Nathaniell Bacon do prepare, and To-morrow bring in, an Ordinance for Relief of maimed Soldiers, Widows, and Orphans, in the several Counties.

London Militia, &c.

The House being informed, That the Committee of the Militia of the City of London were at the Door, desiring to prefer something to the House;

They were called in: And Mr. Alderman Gibb did deliver some Informations and Desires, and the Grounds of the said Desires, concerning the Guards of the City.

Ordered, &c. That the Committee of the Militia of London that now is, shall have the like Power to dispose of the remaining Part of the last Twelve thousand Pounds, as the former Committee had.

The Lords Concurrence to be desired herein.

Resolved, &c. That the Sum of Twelve thousand Pounds be furnished to the Committee of the Militia of the City of London, to be disposed of by them for the Service and Maintenance of their Guard: And that the said Sum of Twelve thousand Pounds be paid unto the said Committee of the Militia, or such as they shall appoint to receive the same.

Resolved, &c. That this Twelve thousand Pounds be charged, in Course, upon the Credit of the former Security, given for the last Two hundred thousand Pounds: And that an Ordinance be prepared and brought in to this Purpose: And Mr. Gott is appointed to prepare and bring in this Ordinance.

It is further Resolved, &c. That the Sum of Eighteen thousand Pounds, more than the former Twelve thousand Pounds, be charged, in Course, upon the Credit of the former Security, given for the last Two hundred thousand Pounds; to be distributed in such Manner as both Houses of Parliament shall think fit, among such poor People as have advanced any Sums formerly upon the Publick Faith; to such only, as have lent the Sum of Five Pounds or under.

Mr. Gott is to bring a Clause in this Ordinance, concerning this Eighteen thousand Pounds: And likewise, for Explanation of, and better putting in Execution, the Ordinance for raising and securing the last Two hundred thousand Pounds.

He is to bring in this Ordinance on Tuesday next.

Forces for Ireland.

Ordered, That this Business concerning the Transporting of Colonel Birche's Foot and Horse into Ireland, be referredto the Committee of the Affairs of Ireland at Derby House: Who are this Afternoon to consider of it, and to put this Business of transporting these Forces into the speediest way they can: And the Gentlemen of Herefordshire, and Colonel Birch, are desired to be present at the Committee this Afternoon, upon this Business.

Ordered, &c. That Sir Anthony Irby, and the rest of the Gentlemen formerly appointed to go to the Committee at Goldsmiths Hall, upon the Procuring of the Monies granted upon the Credit at Goldsmiths Hall, for the Service of Colonel Birche's Forces, designed to be transported into Ireland, do go this Afternoon to the said Committee; and improve their best Interests with the said Committee, for procuring the said Monies; representing the important Necessities of speedy transporting the said Forces.

That the Sheriff of the County of Norfolke be hereby required, forthwith to send back by this Bearer, to the Commissioners of the Great Seal, the Writ for electing a Knight of the Shire to serve for that County, in the place of Sir John Hobart, deceased: And that he proceed not to any Election upon that Writ, until further Order from this House.
