State Prisoners.
ORDERED, &c. That the Ordinance in Mr. Knightleye's Hand, concerning the Prisoners in the Tower, be read on Thursday Morning next, the first Business, peremptorily.
Leave of Absence.
Ordered, &c. That Mr. Boone, a Member of this House, in regard of his Indisposition of Health, shall have Leave to go into the Country.
Transactions with the City and Army.
The House being informed, That divers Aldermen, and other Citizens, were at the Door;
They were called in: And Mr. Alderman Fowke acquainted the House, That, according to the Intimations given them by some Gentlemen, they have altered their Letter: And, as it is now agreed unto by the Common Council, we are commanded to present it unto this House, for their Approbation. They are further commanded, humbly to move this House, That, if any Forces be listed upon the Votes of the Committee of Lords and Commons, and Committee of the Militia, that they may be discharged. He further said, That, if such Reformadoes and Soldiers as are about Town, may be sent into their several Counties, it would satisfy that Desire.
The Letter was read.
Resolved, &c. That the Restriction, limiting the City to bring the Letters they send to the Army to this House, for their Approbation, be taken off.
Resolved, &c. That this shall be delivered in Answer to the Citizens, That, in regard of the Considence this House hath in the Wisdom and Faithfulness of the City, and in respect of the great and important Affairs that now lie upon the House (which will not give Leave to debate all such Letters as the City may have Occasion to write to the Army) they do leave it to themselves, to send such Letters as in their Wisdoms they shall think sit.
The Question was propounded, That, if any Soldiers be lifted upon the Votes of the Committee of Lords and Commons, and Committee of the Militia, the same be forthwith discharged:
And the Question being put, Whether this Question shall be now put;

Mr. Bulkeley, who was at the Debate of the Question, and gave not his Vote at the Putting of it, was after the Report was given, required to give his Vote, and declared himself in the Negative
Mr. Maynard, being in the like Condition, and required likewise to give his Vote, declared himself in the Negative.
So that the Negatives in the former Question were Seventy-six.
The Aldermen, and other Gentlemen of the Common Council, were called in: And Mr. Speaker, by the Command of the House, delivered unto them the Answer aforesaid.
Message to Lords.
Mr. Holles carried to the Lords for their Concurrence, the Order made 14 Junii 1647, concerning the Officers and Gentlemen of Sir Thomas Fairfaxe's Lifeguard: The Order for an Hundred Pounds out of the Grand Excise to Edward Husbands Stationer: The Ordinance for Indemnity of such Officers and Soldiers as are come off from the Army, with those Alterations this House made therein.
Tumultuous Meetings.
Ordered, That Mr. Dove, Mr. Boys, Sir Walter Erle, Mr. Say, Mr. Lisle, Sir Hen. Heyman, Colonel Harvey, Mr. Copley, Mr. John Stephens, Mr. Weaver, Sir Gregory Norton, Mr. Wheler, Mr. Ball, and Mr. Scott, be added to the Committee formerly appointed to prepare the Declaration concerning the Assembling and Gathering together of Soldiers: And they, or any Five of them, are to meet this Afternoon at Two of the Clock, in the Court of Wards; and so de die in diem: And the Care of this Business is more particularly referred to Mr. Dove and Mr. Ball.

Resolved, &c. That the Names in this List shall be added unto, and comprehended within the List brought in by Colonel Sir Thomas Essex and Colonel Sandys: And that they receive the like Advantage and Benefit of Pay, respectively, as those other Officers named in the said List are, by Ordinance of Parliament, now to have.
Resolved, &c. That the Business of the Army, and in the first Place, the Representation from the Army, be taken into Consideration on Monday Morning next: And that no other Business whatsoever do intervene.
Resolved, &c. That such private Soldiers contained in those Lists, as have Certificates and Attestations under known Officers Hands, shall have a Month's Pay for their present Relief.
Whereas Auditor Broade, Auditor Wilcox, and Commissary Dudenny, have this Day presented to this House several Lists of private Soldiers listed by them, according to former Order: It is Ordered, That the said Auditors, or One of them, do attend, with their several Lists, at Christ Church, to assist the Treasurers in the payment of the Monies ordered for the private Soldiers: And that such of the private Soldiers contained in the said Lists, as have Certificates and Attestations under the Hands of known Officers, shall have a Month's Pay paid them, according to Establishment, upon Account, where so much appears due by the said Certificates, for their present Relief, until their Accounts be fully stated and persected. And, for preventing of any Violence or Injuries to the said Treasurers, and Persons employed in this Service, it is Ordered, That the Committee of the Militia of the City of London be desired to appoint Fifty Musqueteers at least, to attend the said Treasurers during this Service.

Provost Marshal.
Ordered, upon the Question, That the Information given in by Colonel Birch, concerning his Provost Marshal, be referred to the Examination and Consideration of the Members of this House, that are of the Committee for Indemnity: And they are to meet upon it on Monday Morning next, at Seven of Clock: And are to report the State of it on Monday next: And Colonel Jephson is hereby required to be there.
