Mr. Ball, being appointed, carried to the Lords, for their Concurrence, the Votes for Rowland Hunt Esquire to be Sheriff of the County of Mountgomery, and for William Ligon Esquire to be Sheriff of the County of Worcester; an Ordinance for Edward Bish Esquire to be Garter Principal King at Arms; an Ordinance for a Pardon to Mr. Bentall, for his Delinquency; an Ordinance for Three thousand Pounds, out of the Excise, to be paid to the Forces of Abingdon and Reding; an Ordinance for a Pardon to Mr. John Rous, for his Delinquency; an Ordinance for a Pardon to John Lowe, for his Delinquency; and an Ordinance for a Pardon to Mr. Thomas Hillersden, for his Delinquency;

It is Resolved, &c. That this House doth accept of the Sum of One thousand Pounds, of Thomas Chester, of Almundsbury in the County of Gloucester, Esquire, for a Fine, for his Delinquency: His Offence is, That he was a Commissioner for raising Contributions for the Enemy; but came in, .. November 1645: His Estate, in Fee-Tail, in Possession, is Three hundred Fifty-and-seven Pounds per Annum; in old Rents, Ninety-one Pounds and Seventeen Shillings per Annum; Seven Pounds per Annum, for Five Years: Out of which Estate is issued Eighty Pounds per Annum, for One Life.

An Ordinance for granting a Pardon unto Thomas Chester, of Almundsbury in the County of Gloucester, Esquire, for his Delinquency, and for Discharge of the Sequestration of his Estate, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth accept of the Sum of Nine hundred and Forty Pounds of John Bellott senior, of Moreton in the County of Chester, Esquire, and of John Bellott junior, his Son and Heir, for a Fine, for their respective Delinquencies: The Father's Offence is, Residing in the Enemies Quarters: The Son was in Arms against the Parliament; but submitted before December 1645: The Father is seised of an Estate, in Fee-Tail, in Possession, of the Value of Three hundred Thirty-and-three Pounds Eight Shillings per Annum: They are seised of like Estate, in Reversion, to the Value of Three hundred and Twenty Pounds per Annum: Out of which Estate is issuing Eight Pounds per Annum, for One Life; and Fifteen Pounds Fifteen Shillings; and Eight Pounds per Annum, for ever.

An Ordinance for granting a Pardon unto John Bellott senior, of Moreton in the County of Chester, Esquire, and John Bellott his Son and Heir, for their respective Delinquencies, and for Discharge of the Sequestration of their Estates, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth accept of the Sum of One thousand Two hundred Pounds of Valentine Saunders, of Linden in the County of Rutland, Esquire, for a Fine, for his Delinquency: His Offence is, Residing in the Enemies Quarters; but submitted before December ....: His Estate, in Fee, is Six hundred Fifty one Pounds Seven Shillings and Eight-pence per Annum: Out of which Allowance is made for a Mortgage of Five hundred and Fifty Pounds, and Fifty-five Pounds per Annum, for One Life.

An Ordinance for granting a Pardon unto Valentine Saunders, of Linden in the County of Rutland, Esquire, for his Delinquency, and for Discharge of the Sequestration of his Estate, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth accept of the Sum of Three hundred and Eighty Pounds of Randolph Roade, of Roade in the County of Chester, Esquire, and of Thomas Roade his Son and Heir, for a Fine, for their respective Delinquencies: The Father's Offence is, Residing in the Enemies Quarters; and the Son was in Arms against the Parliament: But submitted themselves before December ....: The Father is seised, in Fee, in Possession, of an Estate of the Value of One hundred and Fifty Pounds per Annum: And they are seised of a like Estate, of Thirty-four Pounds Ten Shillings per Annum; and, in old Rents, Fourteen Pounds Fifteen Shillings and Six-pence per Annum: Out of which an Allowance was made for a Debt of One hundred and Ten Pounds charged upon the Estate.

An Ordinance for granting a Pardon unto Randolph Roade, of Roade in the County of Chester, Esquire, and unto Thomas Roade his Son; for their respective Delinquencies, and for Discharge of the Sequestration of their Estates; was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth accept of the Sum of Nine hundred and Forty Pounds of Edward Colser, of Aylesham in the County of Norfolk, Esquire, for a Fine, for his Delinquency: His Offence is, Being in Arms against the Parliament: He came in 23 Aprilis ....; and petitioned the Second of May ....: His Estate, in Fee, is Two hundred Pounds per Annum, charged with a Jointure of Eighty Pounds per Annum to his Wife, and Three hundred and Twenty Pounds for Orphans Portions, Copyhold-Lands, purchased by him, and his Wife, to the Value of Ten Pounds per Annum.

An Ordinance for granting a Pardon unto Edward Colfer, of Aylesham in the County of Norfolke, Esquire, for his Delinquency, and for Discharge of the Sequestration of his Estate, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.

The humble Petition of Isabel the Wife of Edward Colfer Esquire, and her Nine Children, was this Day read.

And the Question being propounded, Whether the Second Payment of the Fine set upon Edward Colfer shall be suspended, until the House take further Order;

That this House doth accept of the Sum of Two hundred and Sixteen Pounds of Thomas Mill, of Greiham in the County of Sussex, Esquire, for a Fine, for his Delinquency: His Offence is, Bearing Arms against the Parliament: He submitted in November 1645: His Estate is One hundred and Eight Pounds per Annum.

An Ordinance for granting a Pardon unto Thomas Mill, of Gretham in the County of Sussex, Esquire, for his Delinquency, and for Discharge of the Sequestration of his Estate, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth accept of the Sum of One hundred Seventy-three Pounds of John Angus, of Melton in the County of Norfolke, Gentleman, for a Fine, for his Delinquency: His Offence is, Being in Arms against the Parliament; but submitted himself the Fourth of November last: He hath an Estate, in Fee, in Possession, of certain Messuages, Lands, and Tenements, lying in the said County, of the yearly Value of Eighty-six Pounds Seventeen Shillings and Six-pence.

An Ordinance for granting a Pardon unto John Angus, of Great Melton in the County of Norfolk, Gentleman, for his Delinquency, and for Discharge of the Sequestration of his Estate, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth accept of the Sum of Three hundred Twenty-six Pounds of Gregory Creyke, of Marton in the County of Yorke, Gentleman, for a Fine, for his Delinquency: His Offence is, Being in Arms against the Parliament: But submitted in November 1645: His Estate, in Fee, is One hundred Eightyseven Pounds One Shilling and Eight-pence per Annum: Out of which issues Five Pounds and Twelve Shillings, payable to Lords of Manors; and Thirty-six Pounds per Annum, for Life: Which is allowed of.

An Ordinance for granting a Pardon unto Gregory Creyke, of Marton in the County of Yorke, Gentleman, for his Delinquency, and for Discharge of the Sequestration of his Estate, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.

Upon the Report of the State of the Case of Daniel Thelwall, of Woodford in the County of Essex, Esquire, concerning his Delinquency and Estate, and of the Ordinance for the Discharge thereof; the which were read;

It is Resolved, &c. That the Ordinance concerning Mr. Daniel Theloall be re-committed: And that the Committee do consider of the Matter of Fact, and of the Time of his Coming in, and taking the Covenant: And that they do likewise consider of the Declaration of both Kingdoms; and, upon Consideration of all, to report the whole Matter of Fact to the House.

It is further Ordered, That the Petition of Thomas May, of Rawmere in the County of Sussex, Esquire, be referred to the Consideration of the Committee at Goldsmiths-Hall, upon the same Matter, and in the like Manner, as the Business concerning Mr. Daniel Theloall is re-committed.

Resolved, &c. That the Petition of Sir Thomas Delves be referred to the Consideration of the Committee at Goldsmiths-Hall; to view the Deed whereby his Estate is settled: And if it shall appear clearly unto them, that the said Sir Thomas Delves is really Tenant for Life only to the Estate he hath compounded for, that then they make Abatement of his Fine accordingly.

An Ordinance for appointing Prisoners in the Custody of the Lieutenant of the Tower, and of the Serjeant at Arms attending on this House, who shall, by Habeas Corpus, or otherwise, be turned over unto any other Prison, to remain and abide in such Prison, and in such Manner, and under such Restraint, as they were in before their Turning over, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.

Ordered, That Mr. Alderman Pennington do bring in an Ordinance, for the Satisfaction of such Monies as are due to him by any Prisoners who are in the Tower, and are indebted to him, for Diet or Fees, during the Time he was Lieutenant of the Tower.

Ordered, That, To-morrow, being the Day of the monthly Fast, there be a Collection, in the several Churches and Chapels within the several Parishes and Places in the Cities of London and Westminster, Lines of Communication, and Weekly Bills of Mortality, to be employed for the Relief of the Poor of the several Parishes and Places respectively, where the said Collections shall be made: And the Lord Mayor of the City of London is desired to take care, that Notice hereof may be given to the Ministers of the several Churches and Chapels within the Limits aforesaid.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth accept of the Sum of One hundred and Forty Pounds of George Sanderson, of Ganthrope in the County of Lincolne, Gentleman, for a Fine, for his Delinquency: His Offence is, Residing in the Enemies Quarters: He submitted in September 1645: His Estate, in Fee, is Sixty-eight Pounds and Ten Shillings; and Three Pounds per Annum, in Reversion.

An Ordinance for granting a Pardon unto George Sanderson, of Ganthorpe in the County of Lincolne, Gentleman, for his Delinquency, and for Discharge of the Sequestration of his Estate, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth accept of the Sum of Three hundred Pounds of Roger Wyvell, of Osgodby in the County of Yorke, Esquire, for a Fine, for his Delinquency (his Offence is, Residing in the Enemies Quarters; and for the Delinquency of William Wyvell, his Son, his Offence is, Being in Arms): The Estate compounded for, in Fee, is One hundred and Sixty Pounds per Annum: Out of which there is paid Eleven Pounds Six Shillings One Peny One Halfpeny Farthing unto the Crown.

An Ordinance for granting a Pardon unto Roger Wivell, of Osgodby in the County of York, Esquire, and Wm. Wivell, his Son, for their Delinquency, and for Discharge of the Sequestration of their Estates, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth accept of the Sum of Eight hundred Pounds of Thomas Longevile, of Bradwell in the County of Bucks, Esquire, for a Fine, for his Delinquency: His Offence, Being in Arms against the Parliament: The Estate compounded for, in Fee, is, per Annum, Four hundred and Three Pounds; in Reversion, per Annum, Seventy Pounds: His Lands are now possessed by Edward Greenvill Esquire; which he holds for Eleven Years to come, and cannot be redeemed without Payment of Four hundred Pounds: Which, being allowed, leaves the Fine, at a Tenth, Eight hundred Pounds.

An Ordinance for granting a Pardon unto Thomas Longevile, of Bradwell in the County of Bucks, Esquire, for his Delinquency, and for Discharge of the Sequestration of his Estate, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent to the Lords for their Concurrence.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth accept of the Sum of Three hundred and Sixty Pounds of Thomas Swan, of Beverly in the County of York, Gentleman, for a Fine of his Delinquency: He never bare Arms: His Estate, in Fee, per Annum, One hundred Thirty-two Pounds Four Shillings; more, Copyhold, Thirty-six Pounds Fifteen Shillings; Lands for Nineteen Years, Seventy Pounds per Annum: Out of which Fifty-one Pounds Six Shillings and Eight-pence issueth yearly: Which leaves the Fine to be Three hundred and Sixty Pounds.

An Ordinance for granting a Pardon unto Thomas Swan, of Beverly in the County of York, Gentleman, for his Delinquency, and for the Discharge of the Sequestration of his Estate, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth accept of the Sum of Two hundred Forty-and-five Pounds of Edward Bawdwin, of Diddlebury in the County of Salop, Esquire, for a Fine of his Delinquency: His Offence being, That he was in Arms against the Parliament: He submitted the Twenty-ninth of November 1645: His Estate, for Life, per Annum, Sixty-six Pounds Thirteen Shillings and Four-pence; in old Rents, for Life, Fifteen Pounds Four Shillings and Eight-pence Halspeny; in FeeTail, in Reversion, per Annum, Forty-eight Pounds One Shilling and Eight-pence, being old Rents: Out of which issues Fifteen Pounds Eight Shillings and Ten-pence per Annum: Which being allowed, the Fine, at a Tenth, is Two hundred Forty-five Pounds.

An Ordinance for granting a Pardon unto Edward Baudwyn, of Diddlebury in the County of Salop, Esquire, for his Delinquency, and for Discharge of the Sequestration of his Estate, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent to the Lords for their Concurrence.

That this House doth accept of the Sum of Three hundred Forty-five Pounds of Thomas Jackson, of Leeds in the County of York, Clothier: His Delinquency being, That he forsook his Dwelling-house, and lived in the Enemies Quarters: He came in, November 1645: His Estate, in Fee, per Annum, One hundred and Forty Pounds; in Reversion, in Fee, per Annum, Forty Pounds; Personal Estate, Two hundred and Fifty Pounds: For which his Fine, at a Tenth, is Three hundred Forty-five Pounds.

An Ordinance for granting a Pardon unto Thomas Jackson, of Leeds in the County of York, Clothier, for his Delinquency, and for Discharge of the Sequestration of his Estate, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent to the Lords for their Concurrence.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth accept of Three hundred Pounds of Edward Liegh, of Bagulee in the County of Chester, Esquire: His Delinquency being, That he forsook his own Dwelling, and resided in the Enemies Quarters: He submitted in November 1645: His Estate is, in old Rents, per Annum, Twenty-five Pounds; in FeeFarm Rents, per Annum, Six Pounds; in Customary Rents, per Annum, Twenty Pounds: Which Estate is all litigious: He hath likewise an Estate in Reversion, of Lands, of the Value of, per Annum, One hundred and Forty-six Pounds: In which, in respect the greatest Part of his Estate is in Controversy, the Committee propose the Fine of Three hundred Pounds.

An Ordinance for granting a Pardon unto Edward Liegh, of Ragulee in the County of Chester, Esquire, for his Delinquency, and Discharge of the Sequestration of his Estate, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth accept of the Sum of One hundred Twenty-three Pounds of James Whitewick, of Coventry in the County of Warwick, Gentleman; his Delinquency being, That he went and resided in the Garisons held against the Parliament: Submitted before December 1645: His Estate, per Annum, Sixty Pounds; Personal Estate, Thirty Pounds: For which the Fine, at a Tenth, is One hundred Twenty-three Pounds.

An Ordinance for granting a Pardon unto James Whitewick, of Coventry in the County of Warwick, Gentleman, for his Delinquency, and Discharge of the Sequestration of his Estate, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.

Upon the Report of the Case of Thomas Longevile Esquire;

The Question was put, Whether this House would agree with the Committee in the Fine of Eight hundred Pounds, for the taking off his Delinquency:

And then the Question being put, Whether this Addition should be made, That the Two hundred and Eighty Pounds he formerly paid to Colonel Ingolsby, should be allowed, out of his Fine;

The Question passed with the Negative.

The Question being put, Whether the Sum of Two hundred and Eighty Pounds should be allowed to Thomas Longevile, of Bradwell in the County of Buck', Esquire, upon the Payment of the Fine of Eight hundred Pounds, for taking off his Delinquency;

The House was divided.

The Yeas went forth.

Resolved, &c. That the Sum of Two hundred and Fourscore Pounds shall be allowed unto Thomas Longevile, of Bradwell in the County of Bucks, Esquire; and abated in the Payment of his Fine of Eight hundred Pounds, set upon him, and accepted, for the Pardon of his Delinquency, and taking off the Sequestration of his Estate.

Ordered, That the Committee at Goldsmiths-Hall do pay unto Edward Walford (a Messenger attending upon the House of Commons) the Sum of Fifty Pounds, formerly ordered to be paid unto him, for Service done by him, out of such Delinquents Estates, as he should discover: And that the Acquittance of the said Edward Walford shall be a sufficient Discharge to the said Committee, and the Treasurer there, for the Payment thereof accordingly.

Mr. Ball brings Answer from the Lords, That the Lords do agree to Mr. Roger Hunt to be High-Sheriff of the County of Montgomery, and to Mr. Wm. Ligon to be High-Sheriff of the County of Worcester; and to the Three thousand Pounds for the Forces of Redding and Abington: As to the rest of the Messages carried by him to the Lords, they will send Answer by Messengers of their own.
