Leave of Absence.

NR. Brett has Leave to go into the Country, and to stay a Month.

Tonage and Poundage.

Mr. Solicitor reports, from the Grand Committee, the Bill of Tonage, with some Alterations, Additions, and Amendments: The which were all twice read:

Ordered, That this Business concerning the Bill of Tonnage and Poundage, be resumed so soon as the House returns.

Passing a Bill.

The Gentleman Usher of the Lords House came and acquainted the House, That the Lords desired this House to come up, to be present at the passing of the Bill for inlarging the Time of Subscriptions for the Adventure of Ireland, by Commission.

Not to publish Books.

Ordered, That the High Constable of the Hundred of Blackheath be injoined not to publish those Books, which he is required by a Warrant from the Sheriff of the County of Kent: And that the Under Sheriff be summoned to give an Account to the House, by what Authority he granted out any such Warrant to the High Constable.

Stay of Horses.

Ordered, That a Warrant shall issue for the Stay of those Fourteen Horses the House is informed went through Totnam-high-crosse last Night towards Yorke.

Tonnage and Poundage.

Resolved, upon the Question, That the Time of the Continuance of this Bill of Tonnage and Poundage shall be from the First of July until the First of March next.

Conference.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Edw. Leech and Dr. Ay. . . . ;

The Lords desire a Conference, presently, in the Painted Chamber, by Committees of both Houses, if it may stand with the Conveniency of this House, concerning the Treaty with the Scotts Commissioners; and concerning the Disposing of the Magazine that came from Hull; likewise concerning some Letters they have received from the Lord Lieutenant of Lincolneshire.

Lincolneshire Militia.

A Letter from the Committee of Lincolneshire, and other Captains of the Train Bands of that County, of the Eleventh of June, from Lincolne, directed to Mr. Speaker, giving an Account of the Proceedings of the Militia in that County, was this Day read.

Affairs at Hull.

A Letter from the Committee at Hull, of the Twentieth of June, relating some Practice in one Thornton, Comptroller of the Customs there, and Collector of the Impositions, against the Safety of that Town.

Conference.

Answer returned by the same Messengers; That this House has taken their Lordships Message into Consideration; and will give a present Meeting, as is desired.

Mr. Glyn, Sir Ph. Stapleton, Mr. Pym, Sir Jo. Evelyn, Mr. Holles, Mr. Hampden, are appointed Reporters of this Conference.

Leave of Absence.

Sir Edw. Masters has Leave to go down into the Country.

Captain Skinner has Leave to go into the Country for a Fortnight.

Committees.

Ordered, That no Committees shall sit this Afternoon.

Payment to Hotham.

Ordered, That the Treasurers for the Contribution and Loan Money in London do forthwith issue and pay Two thousand Pounds, out of the Monies that are come in upon the Act of Contribution and Loan Money, unto Mr. Durand Hotham, or such as he shall appoint, for the Use of Sir Jo. Hotham: And

It is farther Ordered, That the said Two thousand Pounds be repaid unto the said Treasurers out of the Monies that shall come in upon the Bill of Four hundred thousand Pounds.

Tonage and Poundage.

Resolved, upon the Question, That the Bill of Tonage and Poundage shall be forthwith ingrossed, with the Additions and Amendments.

Person sent for.

Resolved, upon the Question, That Mr. Corney shall be forthwith sent for, as a Delinquent, by the Serjeant at Arms attending on this House.

Person to be brought in Custody.

Resolved, That Mr. Thornton, Comptroller of the Customs in the Port of Hull, be summoned, and brought up in safe Custody: And

It is farther Ordered, That an Order be sent to the Committee at Hull, in case the said Mr. Thornton do come thither, to enable them to send him up in safe Custody.

Printing Holles' Speech.

Ordered, That no Person do print the Speech of Mr. Holles, ordered by the House to be printed, but such as the said Mr. Holles shall appoint, until such Time as the House shall take farther Order in it.

Hull Fortifications.

Ordered, That Sir Jo. Hotham shall disburse so much Monies as he shall think necessary, for repairing and increasing the Fortifications about the Town of Hull, for the better Defence of that Place, not exceeding the Sun of Three hundred Pounds; and that it shall be allowed him upon his Account.

Payment to ShipMasters.

Ordered, That Mr. Wheeler do forthwith pay unto the Masters of the Ships that brought the Ammunition from Hull, Two hundred Pounds out of any Monies remaining under his Charge, towards their Freight and Demurrage.

Leave of Absence.

Mr. Dutton has Leave to go into the Country for Recovery of his Health.

Book of Rates.

Whereas Lawrence Blacklock, of London, Stationer, is appointed to make two Impressions of the Book of Rates, lately agreed upon by this House; It is this Day Ordered, by the House of Commons assembled in Parliament, That no Man whatsoever presume to reprint or to make any farther or other Impression of the said Book of Rates, without special Order and Licence of this House first obtained: And that Mr. Green, and the rest * * * *.

Examining Lord Macquire, &c.

Ordered, That Mr. Hill do attend the Judges that are to examine the Lord Macquire, Mac Mahun, and Colonel Read, to give what Information he knoweth concerning them: And

It is further Ordered, That Mr. Prideaux, Mr. Constantine, and Mr. Pury, or any Two of them, do go with the Judges to be present at their Examination.

Apprehending Lord Dillon, &c.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do grant his Warrant for the Apprehending of the Lord Viscount Dillon of Castillo, and Theobald Viscount Taaffe of Carren, who are lately escaped out of the Custody of the Serjeant at Arms attending on this House.

Ordered, That the Commissioners of this House do move the Scotch Commissioners, to write to the Council of Scotland to stop the Ports against them in Scotland.

Comptroller of Customs at Hull.

Ordered, That the Commissioners of the Treasury be moved to take care that a careful and trusty Person be placed, instead of Mr. Thorneton, Comptroller of the Customs at Hull; who is lately put out of the Town there for some Misdemeanors by him there committed; whereby his Majesty may have no Wrong in his Customs: And that Mr. Allured, who is a Collector of the Customs there, being recommended to this House from Hull, be referred to their Consideration for that Service, till further Course be taken: And that the like Order be made to acquaint the Farmers of the Custom House herewith.

Warwicke Committee.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth Assent to these Instructions for the Committee appointed to go into the County of Warwicke.

Grayes Inn Petition.

Ordered, That this House doth give Power to the Committee for Grayes Inn Petition, to proceed upon the Copy thereof now presented; it being agreed unto, by both Sides, that it is a true Copy of the original Petition, as if it were the original Petition: And that Mr. Gurdon, Mr. Bond, Mr. Earle, Mr. Serjeant Wilde, Mr. Constantine, Mr. King, Sir Tho. Bowyer, Mr. Corbett, and Sir Tho. Barrington, be added to that Committee.
