PRAYERS
Knightingmoney, &c.
IT is this Day Ordered, by the House of Commons, That the Committee for the Judges, unto which the Consideration of the Knighting-money is referred, be revived; to sit on Saturday next at Two of Clock, in the Chequer-chamber: And that Committee is likewise to take into Consideration, what has been done in the Matter of Ship-money; and if they shall conceive, that any thing is fit to be done further therein, they shall consider of it, and present it to the House.
They are further to consider of some Course, how the Sheriff, Under-sheriff, and their Officers, may be made accountable to their several Counties, Cities, and Boroughs respectively, for all such Monies as they have received, and are now remaining in their hands.
Mr. Selden, Mr. Vaughan, Sir Guy Palmes, and Sir Henry Anderson, are added to this Committee.
The Protestation.
Mr. Robert Nicholls, Sir Fra. Knolls, Mr. John Dutton, Mr. Nath. Hollow, made the Protestation.
Fullers Earth, &c.
Ordered, That the Patent concerning Fullers Earth; and the State and Condition of the Business concerning Fullers Earth, as now it stands; and the Circumstances as depend upon it, as touching Exportation and Importation, from Port to Port within the Kingdom; is referred to the Committee for Wool and Wool-fells: And they are to take some Course for the Relief of the Counties of Essex and Suffolke in that Behalf.
The Knights and Burgesses of Essex and Suff' are added to that Committee: And are to meet on Saturday next at Two of Clock, in the Court of Wards.
Leave of Absence.
Mr. Carew, for his great Occasions, has Leave to go into the Country for some convenient Time.
The Protestation.
Moved, That such as will, may have Copies of the Explanation of this House, concerning a Clause in the Protestation, attested under the Clerk's Hand.
Letters referred.
An Extract of a Letter written to one Mr. Peter Heywood, was read; and referred to the Committee of Seven.
A Letter from one Thomas Smith of Dover, directed to one James Buckhurst, concerning Fears they apprehend from the French, was this Day read.
Ordered, That these two Letters be referred to the Committee of Seven.
Michaelmas Term.
Mr. Arthur Goodwyn went up with the Bill for Abbreviation of Michaelmas Term.
Bishops Secular Affairs.
He went likewise with a Message, to desire, that the Bill, formerly sent from this House, concerning the restraining that Bishops, and others in Holy Orders, do not intermeddle with secular Affairs, be taken into Consideration, by the Lords, with Expedition.
Captives at Algiers.
Ordered, That the Committee for Algiers meet on Saturday at Two of Clock, in the Star-chamber.
Committee to meet, &c.
Ordered, That the Committee for James Bill do meet on Monday next, at Two post meridiem, in the Exchequerchamber: And Sir Philip Stapleton, Sir Jo. Hotham, Mr. Hotham, Sir Hugh Cholmley, and Lord Fairefax, are added to this Committee.
Raising Money.
Mr. Speaker left the Chair.

And the Order, Yesterday made, for the Debate at this Time was read.

The Gentleman Usher of the Lords House acquainted the House, That his Majesty was come to that House; and expected this House to come up unto him.

Upon Mr. Hide's Report from the Committee, it was
Resolved, upon the Question, That, in the Raising the Four hundred thousand Pounds, by way of Subsidy, every Man shall be rated, in every County, for the Estate he hath in that County only.
Fens.
Ordered, That the Committee for the Fens meet on Saturday next, at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon.
House to meet.
Ordered, That the House meet at Two of Clock: And that Sir Philip Stappleton's Report be then made.
Carnarvon Election.
Ordered, That the Committee for Sir Lewis Dive shall be revived, as concerning the Election of a Knight to serve for the County of Carnarvon, and the Petitions of Mr. Griffith, Mr. Thomas, and the Sheriff of Carnaroonshire: And they are to meet on Saturday next at Two post meridiem, in the Court of Requests.

Money for Army Services
WHEREAS there was an Order made, that Warrants should issue forth unto Sir Wm. Uvedale, to receive Fifty thousand Pounds, and the Earl of Warwicke Thirty thousand Pounds, proportionably, out of the Sixscore thousand Pounds, promised to be advanced and lent by the City, towards the Relief of the King's Army and Northern Parts, as formerly; the House doth declare, that the Garisons be comprehended within that Order: And, in further pursuance thereof, doth order, that so much of the Four thousand Three hundred Sixty-six Pounds Thirteen Shillings and Four-pence, as hath been advanced by any of the Lords, for the Relief of Berwicke, shall be repaid, by Sir Wm. Uvedale, unto the said Lords; and so much thereof, as hath been advanced by Mr. Payler, Paymaster of Berwicke, shall be repaid unto him by the said Sir Wm. Uvedale: And that the several respective Acquittances under the Hands of the said Lords and Mr. Payler, shall be a sufficient Discharge unto the said Sir Wm. Uvedale, for the Payment thereof.
Star-chamber.
Ordered, That the Committee for the Bill of the Starchamber meet on Saturday, post meridiem, in the Court of Wards.
Portesmouth and Dover.
Sir Philip Stapleton gives Account concerning his Journey to Portesmouth.
Ordered, That the Committee of Seven, upon the Report this Day made by Sir Philip Stapleton, prepare Heads for a Conference to be desired with the Lords concerning Portesmouth and Dover.
Mr. Whitehead, Sir Edw. Deeringe, Sir John Culpepper, Sir * Jervoyse, Sir Hen. Mildmay, Sir Thomas Bowyer, are added to this Committee, as to these particular Businesses of Portesmouth and Dover only.

Resolved, upon Question, That such as shall be rated for the Raising the Four hundred thousand Pounds, shall be rated in the several Places, in every County, where his or their Estate lies, proportionably to his or their Estate in those Places.

Ordered, That the House meet at Eight of Clock; and at Nine resume the Business concerning providing Monies.

Ordered, That Mr. John Smith, a Minister, now in the Custody of the Serjeant at Arms attending on this House, be brought here to this House To-morrow Morning; to the end he may be turned over to the Prison of the Gate-house; and there to remain, till this House take further Order therein.
