PRAYERS.

Carnarvon Election.

ORDERED, That the Committee for Sir Lewis Dive be revived; and shall sit To-morrow at Two of Clock in the Afternoon, in the Court of Requests; concerning the Election of Carnarvonshire; and concerning several Petitions, preferred unto this House by John Griffith and Wm. Thomas, Esquires, and, by Order of this House, referred to that Committee; and concerning the Sheriff of Carnarvonshire.

Disarming Recusants.

Ordered, That the Committee for disarming Recusants do sit on Thursday at Two of Clock.

Star-chamber Proceedings - Pryn's Case.

Mr. Rigby this Day revived the Report of Mr. Prin's Case: And thereupon it was Ordered and Resolved, upon the Question, by the House, as followeth:

1. That the Sentence given against Mr. Pryn in the Star-chamber, 17 Feb. anno 9 Caroli, is illegal, and given without any just Cause; and ought to be reversed: And that Mr. Pryn ought to be discharged of his Fine of Five thousand Pounds, imposed by the said Sentence; and of all Extents thereupon; and of his Imprisonment, decreed by that Sentence.

Resolved, &c.

2. That Mr. Pryn ought to be restored to his Degree in the University of Oxford; and to the Society of Lincolne's-inn; and to the Exercise of his Profession of an Utter-barrister at Law; and to his Chamber again in Lincolne'-inn.

Resolved, &c.

3. That Mr. Pryn, ought to have Reparation for such Damages and Prejudice, as he hath sustained by the said Sentence and Proceedings.

Resolved,

4. That the Sentence given against Mr. Pryn in the Star-chamber, 14° Junii, 1637, & anno 13° Caroli, is illegal, and given without any just Cause or Ground; and therefore ought to be reversed; and that he ought to be discharged of the Fine and Imprisonment thereby decreed; and that he ought to have Reparation and Recompence for the Damages sustained by that Sentence, and the Execution thereof.

Resolved,

5. That the Warrant dated 27 Augusti, 13 Caroli, made for the Transportation of Mr. Pryn from Carnarvon Castle to the Isle of Jersey, and his Imprisonment there, and other Restraints therein mentioned, are against the Law, and Liberty of the Subject; and that he ought to be discharged of that Imprisonment; and to have Reparations for his Damages sustained thereby.

Resolved,

6. That the Imprisonment of Mr. Pryn, by a Warrant dated 1° Febr. 1632, under the Hands of Thomas Lord Coventry Lord Keeper of the Great Seal, Richard Lord Archbishop of York, Henry Earl of Manchester, Edward Earl of Dorset, Henry Lord Viscount Falkland, Wm. Lord Bishop of London, Edward Lord Nuburgh, and Sir Thomas Jermyn, is unjust and illegal; and that they ought to give Mr. Pryn Satisfaction for the Damages sustained by that Imprisonment.

It is this Day likewise Ordered, That Mr. Rigby shall transmit the Charge against Dr. Heylin, touching his Promoting the Suit in.. Star-chamber against Mr. Pryn, to the Committee for Religion; to be considered of, together with those other Charges and Complaints, that are come into that, or any other Committee, against him.

It is this Day likewise Ordered, That the Parties that ought to make Satisfaction and Reparation to Mr. Burton and Mr. Pryn, for their Damages sustained by several Orders, Warrants, and Sentences, in the Star-chamber, and elsewhere, shall be considered of when the Transmission of these Causes shall be brought into the House: And the Committee is to prepare the Transmission of these Causes.

Exchequer Proceedings.

And it is further Ordered, That there be a Stay of all Proceedings in the Exchequer, for Levying the several Fines of Dr. Bastwick, Mr. Burton, and Mr. Pryn, till this House shall take further Order therein.

The Committee, according to Yesterday's Order, resumed the Debate of the Bill of Attainder of Tho. Earl of Straford.

Ordered, That the House sit this Afternoon, at Three of Clock; and resume the Debate of the Bill of Attainder of Tho. Earl of Straford.
