PRAYERS.

Detention of a Writ.

ORDERED, That Mr. Webb be summoned to appear here To-morrow Morning, to shew Reason why he detains a Writ, issued out by Order of this House, for the Election of a Burgess to serve in this present Parliament for the Town of New Romney, a Member of the Cinque Ports.

Eresby's Estate.

1^a vice lecta est Billa, An Act to enable John Eresby to make Sale of Lands in North Sommerscote and South Sommerscote, in the County of Lincolne, for Payment of his Debts.

Brigham's Rectory.

1^a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for the Settling the Parsonage and Rectory of Elcklesley upon Tho. Brigham, his Heirs and Assigns; and for Reversing of a Decree made in Chancery, for the Right Honourable Jo. Earl of Clare, concerning the same.

Brewen's Petition.

The Petition of Calvin Brewen, &c. on the Behalf of themselves, and many others, Inhabitants of the City and County of Chester; especially such as were late Petitioners in another Petition, heretofore presented to this Honourable Assembly, by the Hands of Sir Wm. Brereton Baronet; was this Day read; and referred to the Committee for the Ministers Remonstrance: And are to meet on Wednesday next, at Two of Clock, in the Starchamber.

Officers to go to Army.

Commissary Willmott acquainted the House, that he, and the rest of the Officers of the Army, Members of this House, had received Command to go down to their Charges in the Army very suddenly.

The House took Two or Three Days time to consider of this Business.

Call of the House.

Ordered, That the House be called on Tuesday come Sevennight; and that none of the Members go out of Town in the mean time, without special Licence from the House: And Mr. Speaker is then to put the House in mind of this Order.

Trunks to be delivered.

Ordered, That the Trunks that were detained by an Order from this House of 2^do Feb' at an Inn in Islington, be, by the Master of that Inn, delivered unto the Owner.

Berwick Garrison.

A Message from the Lords, by Baron Henden and J. Foster;

The Lords desire a Conference, by a Committee of both Houses, presently, if it may stand with the Conveniency of this House, concerning the Garison of Berwick.

Answer returned, by the same Messengers;

This House has taken their Lordships Message into Consideration; and are resolved to give a present Meeting, as is desired.

Earl of Straford.

Ordered, That, after the Conference shall be ended, the House shall again be resolved into a Committee, to resume the farther Debate of Tho. Earl of Straford: And all the Members are required to return from the Conference to the House.

Sir Tho. Widrington, Mr. Nath. Fines, Lord Falkland, Sir Jo. Hotham, Mr. Hollis, Sir Ralphe Hopton, Sir Walth. Erle, Mr. Martin, are appointed Reporters of this Conference.

Earl of Straford.

Resolved, upon the Question, That the Endeavour of Tho. Earl of Straford, to subvert the ancient and fundamental Laws of the Realms of England and Ireland, and to introduce an arbitrary and tyrannical Government, against Law, in both these Kingdoms, is High Treason.

Prisoner to be examined.

Ordered, That the Master of the Kings-bench bring, in safe Custody, to be examined before the Committee for the Lord of Cant', Tho. Harrison Clerk, notwithstanding that he is Prisoner upon Execution.

Committees.

Ordered, That the Committees for all publick Bills be revived; to sit in their usual Places.

Evidence on Bensted's Trial.

Mr. Strode, Mr. Perd, Sir Tho. Barrington, Mr. Prideaux, Sir Jo. Evelyn, Mr. Bridgman, Sir Jo. Colpeper, Mr. Reignolds, Sir Anth. Irby, Sir Edw. Hungerford, Sir Wm. Armyn, Sir Tho. Middleton, Serjeant Wilde;

This Committee is to go to the Lord Keeper and the Judges, to know of them, what Evidence was given in at the Trial of Bensted, executed as a Traitor the last Summer; and what Directions were given to the Jury to find that Fact within the Statute of 25^to E. III. And they are to inform themselves, the best they can, of the Matter of Fact; and are to report the State of the whole Business to the House.

Attainder of Earl of Straford.

Ordered, That the Debate of the Bill of Attainder of Tho. Earl of Straford be resumed To-morrow Morning at Eight of Clock: And Mr. Speaker is to put the House in mind of this Order.

Sir E. Coke's Pleas of the Crown.

Ordered, That Sir Edward Coke's Book of the Pleas of the Crown be delivered to the Earl of Straford's Committee, for the special Service of the House.
