Committee to sit.

ORDERED, That the Committee for the High Commission, where Mr. Weston hath the Chair, do sit To-morrow post meridiem at Two of Clock, in the Inner Chequer Chamber.

Gonyver's Petition.

Ordered, That the Petition of Francis Gonyver, of Cawkewell in the County of Lincolne, be referred to the Committee for the Court of Wards, where Mr. Pelham has the Chair.

Wigan Parish.

Printing Earl of Strafford's Verses

Ordered, That the Business concerning the Printing of Verses, that go under the Name of the Earl of Strafford, be referred back to the Committee, where Sir Edw. Deering has the Chair; to consider what Course is fit to be done with those People that are concerned in that Business; and report to the House To-morrow Morning.

Proceedings against Utie

Mr. Corbett reports the Case of Dr. Utie.

Resolved, upon the Question, That Dr. Emanuel Utie is a Man of very scandalous and vicious Life; corrupt in his Doctrine; superstitious in his Practice; an Incendiary; guilty of the Words spoken against the King's Supremacy; of Words tending to Blasphemy; of the Words spoken, that are very scandalous, against the Parliament.

Resolved, upon the Question; That Dr. Emanuel Utie is unworthy to have and enjoy any Ecclesiastical Benefice, or Spiritual Promotion; or to have Cure of Souls.

Person to be taken in custody

Notice being given, that Mr. Davenant was come up; the Serjeant was required to take him forthwith into Custody, according to a Warrant, directed unto him, under Mr. Speaker's Hand.

Scandalous Ministers, &c.

Ordered, That the Committee for scandalous Ministers do meet on Wednesday next at Two of Clock post meridiem, in the Court of Wards; to consider what is fit to be done with those many Causes that depend before them; and to consider and examine the Businesses concerning Jersey.

Printing Members Speeches.

Ordered, That the Committee appointed to consider of the Printing of the Speeches of the Members of this House, &c. be added to the Committee for Printing, where Sir Edw. Deering has the Chair; and to have the like Power joined, as either of them had, severed; and are to meet this Afternoon, at Two of Clock, in the Court of Wards.

Persons going to Mass.

Ordered, That Information be given to the Judges of the King's Bench, of those Persons, who were Yesterday apprehended for going to Mass; to the end they may be there proceeded against according to Law.

Guarnsey and Jersey, &c.

A Message from the Lords, by Baron Hendon and J. Reeves;

The Lords desire a Conference, by a Committee of both Houses, concerning the Isles of Guernsey and Jersey, and other Forts of the Kingdom, presently, in the Painted Chamber, if it may stand with the Conveniency of this House.

Answer returned by the same Messengers;

This House has taken their Lordships Message into Consideration; and will give them a present Meeting, by a Committee of the whole House, as is desired.

Mr. Treasurer, Sir Jo. Culpepper, Mr. Hollis, Mr. Hide, Mr. Crue, Mr. Hampden, are appointed Reporters of this Conference.

Trenty with Scotland.

Moved, that after the Conference ended, the House would return; and proceed with the Treaty, where they left.

Resolved, upon the Question, That this House doth approve of the Affection of their Brethren of Scotland, in their Desire of a Conformity, in Church Government, between the Two Nations; and doth give them Thanks for it: And as they have already taken into Consideration, the Reformation of Church Government, so they will proceed therein, in due time, as shall best conduce to the Glory of God, and the Peace of the Church.

Resolved, upon the Question, That the Remainder of the Treaty of both Kingdoms shall be proceeded in, at a Committee of the whole House, To-morrow at Eight of Clock.
