Prayers.

Abbington Election.

A PETITION of Sir John Stonehouse, Baronet, was read; setting forth, That, pursuant to their Majesties Writ for the Election of a Burgess, to serve in this present Parliament for the Borough of Abbington in the County of Berks, the major Part of the said Borough proceeding to the Election, the Petitioner was duly elected by the Majority of Votes, and ought to have been returned: Yet the Mayor, in Breach of his Trust, refused to return him, and returned John Southaby, Esquire: And praying Relief therein.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of Privileges and Elections, to examine the Matter of the said Petition; and report the same, with their Opinions therein, to the House.

Penwarne's Estate.

An ingrossed Bill, sent down from the Lords, intituled, An Act to enable Robert Penwarne to sell Lands to pay his Brothers and Sisters Portions, and also to pay Debts; was read the Second time.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed to Mr. Boscowen, Mr. Kendall, Sir Walter Moyle, Lord Falkland, Sir Thom. Littleton, Sir Jo. Carewe, Mr. Stratford, Mr. Baldwyn, Mr. Papillion, Major Wildman, and all the Members that serve for the Counties of Devon and Cornewall: And they are to meet in the Queen's Court To-morrow, at Four of the Clock in the Afternoon.

Supply Bill.

The Order for proceeding de die in diem, upon the Bill, for granting a Subsidy to their Majesties, until it be finished, was read.

Also, the Order for proceeding in the further Consideration of the Heads for the Bill of Indemnity, was read.

Also, the Order made on Saturday last, for the Debate then adjourned, was read.

Resolved, That Mr. Speaker do leave the Chair.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair accordingly.
Mr. Hamden took the Chair of the Committee.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Mr. Hamden reports from the Committee of the whole House, That they had made some further Progress in the Bill for the granting a Subsidy to their Majesties: And that they desired, that Mr. Solicitor General may be directed to bring in a new Clause of Credit, to be made Part of the Bill, instead of that which is in the Bill, from "soever," in fol. 46, 1. 2, to "and be," in fol. 52, 1. 2; that not being so proper a Clause for this Bill.

Resolved, That Mr. Solicitor General do bring in such a Clause of Credit.

A Motion being made, That a further Addition of a Tax may be laid upon Stocks in Trade, in the Bill for granting a Subsidy to their Majesties;

Resolved, That the House do, upon Thursday Morning next, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of that Motion.

Resolved, That the House do, on Thursday Morning next, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to proceed in the further Consideration of the Bill for granting a Subsidy to their Majesties.

Bill of Indemnity.

Resolved, That the Proceeding in the further Consideration of the Heads for the Bill of Indemnity be resumed To-morrow Morning.

Resolved, That the adjourned Debate, upon the Motion made on Saturday last, be resumed To-morrow Morning.

Irish Affairs.

Sir Thomas Littleton acquaints the House, That he was directed by the Committee, to whom it was referred to inquire who has been the Occasion of the Delays in sending Relief into Ireland, and particularly to Londonderry; and what Default was in relation to the Provisions that went over with the Soldiers for Ireland; and into the Carriage of Colonel Lundee, Colonel Richards, and Colonel Coningham: And to know the Reason, why the Relief sent to Londonderry was brought back again; and into other Miscarriages relating to Ireland and Londonderry; to move the House, That his Majesty may be humbly desired to give Direction, that Copies of the Commissions and Instructions given, relating to Londonderry and the Kingdom of Ireland, may be transmitted to the said Committee: And also that Colonel Lundee, who is a Prisoner in the Tower, may be brought to the said Committee.

Resolved, That his Majesty be humbly desired to give Directions, that Copies of the Commissions and Instructions given, relating to Londonderry, and the Kingdom of Ireland, be transmitted to the said Committee: And also that Colonel Lundee, who is a Prisoner in the Tower, may be brought to the said Committee.

Ordered, That such Members of this House, as are of their Majesties most honourable Privy Council, do acquaint his Majesty with such the Desires of this House.

Plymoth Writ.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do grant his Warrant to the Clerk of the Crown, to issue out a new Writ, for the Electing of a Burgess to serve in this present Parliament for the Borough of Plymoth in the County of Devon, in the room of Arthur Herbert, Esquire, who is called up to the House of Lords.
