amounting to some hundreds of pounds, and another
parcel thereof coming from Amsterdam he tried to
stop, but could not, and on their arrival in the ship
belonging to Samuel Smith, they were seized by

to the Queen's Trustees there is no need to put them

eight years left by Thomas Bell, of London,
chirurgeon, in his will dated 1680. Dec. 17, to Mr.
Collins, Mr. Griffith, Mr. Cockayne and Mr. Partridge,
ministers of the Independent churches, to be disposed of among the ministers and poor of Congregational churches. The said Bell died about 1681,
so that there is 225l. due on said annuity. |

Scotland but free of Belfast in Ireland, and owner
of a plantation in Antigua and has there a house
and servants. By the Act of Post Nati all the subjects
of Scotland born after King James [the First's]
coming to this Crown [of England] are naturalised
and in all cases pay the same Customs and no more
than the English born subjects: and living in
England, Ireland or the Plantations (as the laws
of the Customs and Navigation now stand) are
entitled to the same privileges of being owners of
ships and sailing as English. The said Johnson
caused to be built at Coleraine in Ireland the ship
May Flower of Belfast, burthen about 50 tons of
which he is sole owner, to trade between England,
Ireland and the Plantations and manned her
according [to law] with the subjects of said places,
yet lately arriving from Antigua laden with sugar,
tobacco, indigo, and cotton, his ship is seized at
Whitehaven by Capt. Kirby upon pretence she
belonged to the people of Scotland, though the said
Johnson has neither house, family or any kind of

Sir William that 3,000l. shall be immediately
satisfied to him and the remainder of the debt shall
be likewise suddenly discharged in sterling money;
but that so much as is become due since July last
to the two Foot Companies, or shall grow due to
them, shall be answered in a very short time and
so constantly for the future every three months or
oftener without fail in prices of Eight which are to
be received by the soldiers at the current rate in St.
